Meet your guide and crew at 2 Cannons Jetty in the early morning, 6am and embark on our RV Panorama, a fully air-conditioned teak wood cabin with ultra-comfortable luxury seating. Our captain and crew will provide a short safety briefing and healthy breakfast will be served on upper deck. Enjoy fresh fruit juices, blended coffee and tea under the warm sunlight and gentle breeze.

Around 10am, we offer you a special opportunity to experience the country lifestyle by visiting a typical Myanmar village, Lekkapin, on the river bank of Ayeyarwaddy during the down-stream journey (Mandalay to Bagan). This charming village is located in Myint Mu district in Sagaing division with about 1000 inhabitants who are mostly Buddhists. A pagoda, two monasteries and a secondary school are located there. The people there live on traditional hat making and agriculture. Interesting family product of jute hat is their specialty that you can learn step by step from raw material to finished product as you visit from one house to another. You all are warmly welcome to Lekkapin village by the people who are friendly, cheerful and kind just like typical Myanmar people are, and this is really a rare chance for you to observe the simple way of life in Myanmar.

Delicious lunch will be served around noon while enjoy the panoramic views as you sunbathe sitting in our unique seats on sun deck. Feel the gentle waves of Mother Ayeyarwaddy and enjoy the bliss of life.

You will notice that Myanmar population wear their traditional costume, longyi, for daily wears and some strange yellow motifs as make-up on our face, Thanatkha. These are the important parts of our daily life and we would like to demonstrate the different styles of wearing Longyi and how we apply Thanatkha, our traditional make-up. Everyone is invited to participate on the upper deck after lunch time and enjoy trying Longyi and Thanatkha.

We will arrive at Bagan around 5pm and enjoy watching the truly breathtaking sunset views with your family and friends.

Dedicated crew, and very well organized. The village visit was excellent and very decent. We were well informed before the visit. Furthermore the cultural introduction to Burmese tradition was outstanding.Lene and Jorn, Denmark

Enjoy the river and its sand banks, hazy view during sunrise, village stopover of how they live and the tasty food.

I liked having a relaxing day on the river. I spent the day on the upper deck. The food they served was good for riverboat. The village tour was interesting, too. I'd recommend it as a way to get from Mandalay to Bagan.

This trip exceeded my expectations - the boat was really nice and the seats downstairs were more akin to business class on a plane. Great to have charging sockets for your electricals too. Breakfast and lunch are served on the deck with table service which makes a huge change from boat buffets I've been on in the past. Only issue for me was the drop off point which would have been a nightmare if we hadnt tipped someone to move our heavy luggage for us.

Definitely recommend this Day boat. Good service, the excursion is fun - the hat place in the village did not have a hat that was the right size so they custom made me one while I waited - right size and very good price. The meals are good and if you want an alcoholic cocktail they are cheap. Makes the journey to Bagon restful and fun.

Great way to travel from Mandalay to Bagan! The boat is beautiful made of teak, with comfortable chairs inside air conditioned and a nice deck. Food is above expectation, and the crew is very friendly. The meals, the stopover at the little village short walk and possibility to buy hats and the demonstration of longhi fashion make the long trip easy to handle. They sell all kinds of drinks for reasonable prices. Recommended!

This was a great way to get from Mandalay to Bagan. The boat was very nice, bathrooms were clean and the rooftop deck with bar was awesome! We also really enjoyed the stop at the local village at the half way point. The crew were attentive and friendly. They even did small demonstrations with the longyi and Thanaka make up. Great way to travel!

Wonderful cruise to Bagan. The staff were not only helpful but extremely friendly. The breakfast was ok and the lunch was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to get to Bagan from Mandalay.

I can't recommend this river boat cruise highly enough. The staff were brillian - friendly, helpful and funny keeping us entertained as well as waiting on us and looking after us very well. Everything was well planned and meticulous. The breakfast and lunch were delicious and well presented on the upper deck while we enjoyed stunning views across the river. The stop off at the local village was a nice break from cruising and it was nice to meet the villagers and see there way of life. We all seemed to enjoy the straw hat making demonstrations and most of us bought a hat and wore it for the rest of the trip! The crew's longhi and tanaka demonstrations were hilarious and again served to break up the afternoon. The rest of the time we spent relaxing in sun loungers or chilling in the air conditioned lower deck lounge area. We didn't have any suncream with us so got quite sunburnt on our day so be sure to have some handy. The other thing to watch out for are the women 'porters' who grab your bags from the taxi and head off down to the boat with them. We thought this was arranged by the boat company but it wasn't and it was a bit uncomfortable when they asked people for money. We gave them 1000 kyats although a lot of people didn't give any money. The other thing, and which I had read about on a blog but forgotten, is that when you arrive at the Nyaung-U jetty a swarm of people descends shouting taxi, taxi and it's a bit disconcerting. Also as soon as you set off they will stop and you will have to pay 25,000 kyats per person at a kiosk for a 5 day permit allowing access to the archaeological zone. This also comes as a bit of a surprise. No major issue with any of this but it's nice to be forewarned. Everything else was outstanding and we arrived around 4.30pm not 5.30pm as we had thought.

I booked this tour based on a fellow traveller's review who stated this was the company to use and I heartily concur! Excellent value for money. Lovely ship and wonderful crew. The stop in a local village not only provides an opportunity to break up what is potentially a long trip, beautiful scenery aside, but it also gives insight into village life and allows us to support the local economy hat making. The cultural demonstration how to wear a longyi and how to apply tanaka paste was informative and entertaining. The range of activities including a meal makes the trip so much more than just a way to get from point A to point B. Highly recommend.

The crew was very nice and the ride was comfortable. We enjoyed our time while we were on the boat and visiting the village. The only issue I remember is that the coffee had a very odd and rather unpleasant taste.

Best way to travel Mandalay - Bagan!

We were lucky, there were less than 20 passengers aboard. So we could use the seats as beds and sleep during the cruise. The staff - very nice and friendly guys. Enjoyed a lot! ☺️

The tour was OK, but the food was not so special. Also there was no organized transport from the arrival point to Bagan city which meant we had to negociate with the taxi drivers who could charge a too much. Otherwise we enjoyed the tour.

Basically the cruise ride was ok, but the the seat was uncomfortable which we got the seat no 15D and 15E... 1 the glasses box drop from the top and hit Lee 2 the relax leg area, 1 can lift up, 1 cannot 3 both seats was unable to lay down as others. you should reconsider to block the last row of seat for selling. This is unfair for those whose get the last row! thank you.
