Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Phnom Penh

Upon arrival in Phnom Penh, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to our accommodation in the heart of the city. You will have the rest of the day at leisure to explore Bangkok at your own pace, relax at the hotel, or get to know your fellow travellers. Later, we will join our group for a welcome dinner at 7 PM.

Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 39. Day 2 - Tuk Tuk Tour, S21 Prison & Killing Fields

We will start our day with a tuk-tuk tour through the bustling, chaotic streets of Phnom Penh, soaking up the vibrant energy of the city. Our journey will then take us to two poignant and significant sites: the S21 Prison and the original Killing Fields, where we will delve into the tragic history that has shaped this resilient nation. It will be a challenging day, but an essential one for understanding Cambodia's journey. That evening, we’ll enjoy dinner, drinks, and Phnom Penh’s lively nightlife.

Day 3 - Kampot & Kayaking

Phnom Penh - Kampot. Today, we leave the busy city behind and journey into the tranquil countryside of Kampot. For the next two nights, we’ll settle by the peaceful riverside, with time to swim and relax in the calm surroundings. In the afternoon, we’ll glide along the river in kayaks, soaking up the unhurried pace of local life.

Day 4 - Pepper plantation & Cambodian Cooking Class

This morning, we’ll explore Kampot’s world-renowned pepper at a local plantation, discovering how it’s grown and harvested. Later, we’ll immerse ourselves in Cambodian cuisine with a hands-on cooking class, learning to prepare authentic dishes. To finish the day, we’ll unwind on a serene river cruise, soaking up the beautiful surroundings as the sun sets.

Day 5 - Kamkpot to Koh Rong Sanloem

Kampot - Koh Rong Sanloem. Now it’s time to discover Cambodia’s most breathtaking beaches! We’ll travel by train and fast ferry to the idyllic tropical island of Koh Rong Sanloem, where we’ll settle into our accommodation, run by the village chief. The afternoon is yours to unwind on the pristine beaches or explore the island’s hidden gems, before we come together in the evening for dinner and drinks (not included) under the starlit sky.

Day 6 - Long Tail Boat tour & Snorkelling

Today, we’ll board our private long-tail boat and set off to explore some of the finest snorkelling spots around the islands, stopping at secluded beaches along the way. As the evening draws in, we’ll find the perfect spot to watch the sunset, taking a moment to reflect on another ridiculously unforgettable day together.

Day 7 - Koh Rong Sanloem to Siem Reap

This morning, you will have some free time to further explore Koh Rong Sanloem at your own pace, perhaps enjoying a final swim in the crystal-clear waters, taking a leisurely walk along the beach, or simply relaxing in the tropical paradise.

Later, we’ll catch the ferry back to the mainland, where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner before boarding our overnight bus to Siem Reap. With fully reclining beds and air conditioning, we’ll experience bus travel in true comfort and style.

Day 8 - Siem Reap's Floating Villages

Koh Rong Sanloem - Siem Reap. Once we have arrived in Siem Reap early this morning, we’ll venture out into the surrounding rural areas to explore traditional floating villages. Surrounded by lush rice fields, lotus flowers, and flooded forests, we’ll discover the unique way of life in these tranquil waterside communities.

Day 9 - Angkor Wat Exploration

Today, we’ll rise early to catch the stunning sunrise and travel by tuk tuk to the awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, the largest temple in the world! Our local guide will accompany us, sharing the captivating history and stories behind the temple, as well as the nearby Ta Prohm, made famous by the film Tomb Raider. In the evening, we’ll gather for our farewell dinner, marking the end of an unforgettable journey with one last night out.

Day 10 - Laa-Ong Cambodia!

Our tour comes to an end today. You can depart this morning, making your own way to the airport or your next destination. Although there is no departure transfer included, your tour leader will be available to help you plan your onward travel and is on hand to assist you. Safe travels!
