As we stand Mount Scopus we see the Old City and the Temple Mount where the Solomon’s Temple, destroyed by the Babylonians in 586 BCE, and the Second Temple, destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE once stood.

Entering the Old City through the Zion Gate we pass the Armenian Quarter on our way to the Jewish Quarter and the fifteen year old Byzantine Cardo. Partially destroyed and unused during the Moslem conquest it had a brief new lease of life during the Crusader period. The excavated Crusader shops are now modern stores.

We stop at the Kotel, the Western Wall where Jews have prayed since the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE. Built by King Herod it was a supporting wall enclosing the enlarged Temple Mount area.

The Via Dolorosa, also known as the Way of the Cross, is the route many pilgrims follow on their way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the church built over the place of the crucifixion of Jesus and the burial tomb. Although the Byzantine church waspartially destroyed during the Persians and Moslem conquests the rebuilt and redesigned Crusader Church preserved much of the earlier church.

We exit the Old City via the market and the Jaffa Gate for a short tour of the new city. A visit to Yad VeShem, the Holocaust museum, reveals artifacts and photographs documenting the discrimination, persecution and finally the annihilation of the Jewish communities of Europe. It also remembers those righteous among the nations who risked their lives while trying to save Jews.

I booked this tour at the very last moment, late evening before tour date. I was picked up by a taxi from the hotel and all was fabulously arranged. Our tour guide Dan definitely made it worth every penny of the tour price! He is super knowledgeable and nice and can present the historical facts in a truly fascinating way. The only downside was the slightly long time spent at the souvenir shop, but everything else about the tour exceeded my expectations. I’m very grateful for the tour provider for making it such a special and memorable experience!

Absolutely a great full day tour. I, nor my girlfriend have ever been. I am RC and she is Russian Jewish. We had such a great educational journey. It was deeply felt and eye opening. Our guide was a local from Jerusalem and was more than professional. We recommend this tour as it accompasses all four quarters and The West Wall. Great tour!

The tour was very well organized, unexpected problems were dealt with efficiency. Each area of the Old City and new one was given ample time! Our guide Ossy was well read and displayed a sense of humor and kept cool even when some of us got lost!

We had a wonderful tour guide called Ami. He was friendly, inspiring, full of information, enthusiastic and sincere in what he was saying. The tour started with a drive up to a high point so that we could look over the whole city. It was such a beautiful view and we had the opportunity to get out of the bus, film and take photos. The tour continued on from there so that we could see other important sites along the route to the old city, such as the Mount of Olives. Pity there was no time to stop there, though. Walking through the streets of Old Jerusalem, seeing key places, both Jewish and Christian, and having the historical, traditional and biblical references explained in such detail while we were actually there was wonderful. It's was a great experience for Bible scholars, but even if you were not, the tour guide's narrative made up for that. He literally brought the Biblical accounts to life. We had no idea beforehand, however, that there would be so much walking at pace in the heat of the day. If you're not very fit, be prepared. Wearing a hat is a MUST so as to not fade away from heat exhaustion or sun stroke, and non-slip shoes are advisable as the street stones are smooth, no doubt worn down by the thousands of pilgrims who've visited over decades. The tour also involves climbing lot of steps up to and down from some of the sacred places, as well as up to the restaurant where we had lunch. Its quite a strenuous tour and was a challenge for us, not to mention a few of the older members of our group. The last stop on the tour was the visit to the Holocaust museum, which was informative and interesting. We were not accompanied inside by our tour guide, so we were unable to ask any questions about what we saw nevertheless being able to visit the museum was a valuable part of the day. For all of the sites we visited and for what we saw, we would say that the tour reflected good value for money and would highly recommend it.

Our tour guide kept us moving with her informed tour. We went to lunch at a restaurant that had a roof top area for dining which was an added bonus. Although we were taken to one shop, we did not have any time to purchase anything from the many vendors but we did get to see all of the places promised. Luckily we had time another day to return and leisurely visit the Old City. We felt comfortable as our guide had given us a solid sense of the area. Overall, a great tour.

Great tour but not enough time in Church of Holy Seplacure to go inside Jesus Tomb or at the Cross. These have longer lines and not accounted for during tour. My suggestion for tour company, less time in Gift shop and restaurant and more time in Church of Holy Seplicure.

Everything was great, extremely punctual. The only negative thing is, that they dont give you free time to do souvenir-shopping. They show you only one overpriced store most likely because of commission.

Fantastic tour. Our guide was really excellent and gave us a full account of everything, so glad we booked. We didn't really know what to expect as we booked the trips online before our holiday, but we weren't dissapointed as all. Would definitely recommend this tour.

The was a very informative and well run tour. The tour guide was knowledgable, courteous, and took the time to explain what you were looking at. I would recommend this tour in the future. As we visited the old city, it was very busy as the place is very attractive to all the tourists, but our guid was able to manage and explain the most important things. I highly recommend to do the same trip other day by your own,
