Stop At: Vatican Museums, Viale Vaticano, 00120 Vatican City Italy

Vatican tours with skip-the-line access are sought-after, so even the fast-track lines are long. This experience includes admission through a special entrance, so there are no lines whatsoever. Follow your guide directly inside the vast collection of private artwork that is the Vatican Museums.

Walk through the Gallery of the Maps and Gallery of Tapestries as you listen to tales of Vatican intrigue. Gaze at artifacts such as timeworn yet fascinating Italian maps, and admire the sculptures and candelabras of the Gallery of Candelabras. Stop for photos in front of the Pigna statue in the Pinecone Courtyard, designed by Dontao Bramante.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Sistine Chapel, Citta del Vaticano 1, 00120 Vatican City Italy

Pass through the rooms, and then step inside the Sistine Chapel — the pope’s personal place of worship and a highlight of any Vatican trip. Stand beneath Michelangelo’s The Creation of Adam, which cloaks the ceiling, and admire The Last Judgement, his colorful mural that adorns a wall.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Stanze di Raffaello, Viale Vaticano, Vatican City Italy

Raphael’s Rooms are a series of galleries that highlight the talent of the lauded Renaissance artist himself.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza San Pietro, 00120 Vatican City Italy

After your Sistine Chapel visit, continue to St Peter’s Basilica, the symbolic heart of the Catholic church. Learn about its history and see more Vatican art including Michelangelo’s La Pietà, which was sculpted when the maestro was only 24 years old. Gaze at the baldachino by Bernini, and then say goodbye to your guide in St Peter’s Square.

Keep in mind that St Peter's Basilica and St Peter's Square might be unavailable on Wednesdays due to the weekly Papal Audience. As an alternative, you'll be offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and Raphael's Rooms.

If you want to make sure that St Peter's Basilica and Square are included in your tour, don't select Wednesday as your travel date. If you want to enhance your Vatican experience, select one of the following experiences: Small-Group Tour at 8:10am:

Enter the Vatican Museums as soon as it opens, before the other lines enter.

Stella was so knowledgeable and knew every detail of history. She was warm and made eye contact with everyone. I can’t say enough about how excellent our tour of the Vatican, St Peters Basilica and the Sistine Chapel was Thank you!

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our tour guide, Sara, was very knowledgable about all aspects of the tour and answered everyone's questions. She always seemed to have a little extra info to add.

Our initial impression wasn’t great. Slightly chaotic having 3-4 different groups gather in one area to check in and be assigned out based on tour purchased. Then the check radio set up and pass out earbuds and swap a bad radio or two. That said after we got past that and broke off with our guide there is no better way to see the Vatican, the guide was professional, experienced, and fully enhanced the visit. The Vatican, Chapel, Basilicca, Architecture, art work both religious and non and the grounds themselves are second to none, I have traveled the world and yet couldn’t help but feel the beauty, curiousity, and reverence and overall reference for and of the Vatican. If you can afford it and do it, then do it as I would recommend this tour company, the tour and the visit to anyone.

Excellent tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and kept a good pace throughout the Vatican. The tour was easy to find and we didn’t have to wait in line at all!

My wife and I went to Rome for a quick visit to see my daughter, who is studying abroad. We snuck a couple of attraction while she was in class. Our Skip-the-Line tour to the Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica tour, was the best. The art work and the beauty was breathtaking. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She added some personal knowledge and tidbits, along the way. We did not realize what the skip the line process afforded us, until we were leaving and saw the line to get in. The people at the end of the line, said it would be over 2 hours before they would get in. We met a the designated location and walked in with minutes of arriving...BIG difference!!!

Our guide Ava was most knowledgeable. She presented us with a great over-all view of the Sistine Chapel and the Museum. Worth the money to use this tour for a first hand tour.

This was a fantastic tour. My husband and I highly recommend it. We did this fairly early which was a great idea so we weren't so crowded as it would be later in the day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the pace was good. This was a very special experience and very memorable.

We felt like we hit the jackpot with our tour guide for the Vatican Museum, Vatican, and Sistine Chapel. Laurel was a seasoned tour guide, but her tour was as fresh as if she was giving it for the first time. With her background in Art History, and what seemed like a true passion and respect for the religious significance of the buildings and the art, we were better able to appreciate what we were seeing and, we hope, gained some knowledge that will stick with us. Her appreciation of the tapestries, sculpture, and maps in the Vatican corridors caused us to give them a closer look than we might have otherwise and appreciate why they were such amazing works of art. When we gained entry to the Sistine Chapel, we were exhorted, "Silencio!". Likewise, no photographs were allowed. So, it was really valuable to have gotten Laurel's insights on the background of Michelangelo's painting of the Sistine Chapel and his actual artwork before we entered. It was obvious that Laurel has spent some time thinking about, and refining, her presentation about the Chapel. I have to say that I was also very impressed that Laurel did not let the rudeness of some of the members of our tour group have a detrimental effect on the rest of us. She was very professional.

The tour guide was knowledgeable, patient and kind. The crowds were heavy but tolerable at this time of year. Time wise it was exceedingly helpful to skip the line and head straight to the guide. Loved this tour! I would possibly add the gardens next time.

We met our guide across the street from the Vatican Museum for an 11 am tour which lasted about 3 and 1/2 hours. There were approximately 20 people total in our group. There were 7 of us in our immediate group and we all throughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very informative. He shared many little known facts throughout the tour, and, as advertised, we did in fact skip the lines, which was greatly appreciated because of the sheer number of people visiting that day. The sights you get to see up close such as the Sistene Chapel, the Pieta, and the gardens are visions that will stay with you forever. There really are no words that adequately describe how incredibly amazing the art is. I highly recommend this excursion. Our guide spoke English and was not at all bothered when we would interrupt with a question or two.

Alexandre was very polite and knowledgeable. The best guide. He 5ook his time to answer all the questions.

The tour was great. There were soooo many other people/tours going on so the headsets were very helpful but every now and then my headset would pick up another tour guides voice so this was a little annoying but overall I would recommend the tour. You are paying extra to "skip the line" and it was totally worth it! When you see the lines of people waiting to get in as you walk past them to the entrance, you will realize the cost was worth it.

This tour was wonderful. Though no fault of the tour company each location was packed with tourist sometimes making it uncomfortable to move around and difficult to hear. If you can go during off season your tour would be perfect. The tour itself was easy to access and full of valuable information. Our tour guide could answer literally an question. She was also easy to follow even in the swarm of crowds. The tour itself is rather long but it captures everything you'd need to see in the three locations. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing, learning and experience everything.

Our tour guide, Francesca, was great. She had so much insight to share and an excellent resource. Always protecting all her members and making sure that we are all accounted for in the midst of the sea of tourists.
• Submitted 14 Nov 2019
We were impressed with the timeliness that the tour was started. Well organized and understandably a bit of a wait, due to the crowds. BUt we had a very knowledgeable guide and due to the time constraints gave us as much time in the building as he could. We were very satisfied.

We had a lovely tour guide and the tour was fascinating and stunning. My only gripe was they packed far too many tours in at the same time! We often lost our guide for the sheer number of people being pushed along. It was chaos. No reflection on the guide but they need to stop packing them in. No safety, in an emergency you'd have been trampled on. There must have been thousands and because of that you couldn't see everything you wanted to.

We absolutely loved this tour, our guide was so knowledgeable and kept us informed while filling us in on everything we saw. This was the best tour of our 3 week Italy vacation!

This tour was fantastic with our guide. Interesting and informative. We would highly recommend this tour of the Vatican for anyone. Beware there are many stairs throughout the tour if you have walking difficulties. I use a cane and made the 3 hour tour okay. This is a tour you really don't want to miss.

I had been to the Vatican many years ago, but I must say being guided by Marco made it feel like a whole new experience. He is thoughtful, informative, extremely knowledgeable with a delightful sense of humor. Three hours sounded like a lot time, but Marco was very entertaining with a very considerate pace regarding how the tour was conducted including a nice break to regroup for bathroom and refreshments before entering the Sistine Chapel. We can't compliment him enough.

Our tour was wonderful. Our guide, Alex was exceptional. She had the best combination of knowledge and humor. She was able to individualize the tour so we all felt extra special. She spent just the right amount of time at each location. The experience of seeing the Vatican, Sistine chapel and St Peters should not be missed. Highest praise for Alex and this tour. Would definitely recommend!

Alessander was our tour guide for the 3-hour Faster than Skip-the-Line Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica Tour, and he was excellent! He is filled with a wealth of information, and clearly loves his job and interacting with people. we had an excellent tour guide, who happened to be from Canada, so we could clearly understand everything she said. She was very interesting and engaging, and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed her tour, even thought the Vatican is always crowded.
