In the afternoon, we'll head to Akihabara, Tokyo’s famous electric town. Explore neon-lit streets, challenge each other in the arcades, visit a Maid Café, or simply wander through the bustling shops.
In the morning, following breakfast, we will participate in a private sushi-making class. During this session, you'll learn how to prepare Miso soup, three varieties of sushi, and uncover the secrets of Teriyaki. If you'd like a vegetarian option, please inform us at least a week before the tour begins. In the evening, we'll head to Shinjuku, where you'll have the chance to admire Tokyo's stunning skyline, explore the renowned Omoide Yokocho alley, and enjoy dinner before experiencing the famous Shibuya Pedestrian Crossing.
Tokyo - Hakone. Today, we will journey to the picturesque mountain town of Hakone aboard the "Romance Car." Upon checking into our guest house nestled in the mountains, we'll spend the day exploring the surroundings using various modes of transportation. Hakone is renowned not only for its incredible cuisine but also for offering breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, weather permitting. After a day of exploring and capturing the beauty of Japan's most famous mountain in photographs, we will enjoy a traditional Japanese Family Nabe dinner at our guesthouse. We'll finish the day with some games.
Hakone - Takayama. Today, we’ll experience the thrill of riding the world-famous Shinkansen (bullet train) for the first time. Watch the sleek trains zip past before boarding one of the fastest trains in the world.
On the journey, keep an eye out for breathtaking views of Mt Fuji. Our destination is the UNESCO World Heritage town of Takayama, where we’ll spend the night at a stunning temple. In the afternoon, we’ll visit a local brewery to sample authentic sake, and you’ll have the chance to indulge in the renowned Hida beef - a true culinary treat!
Takayama - Kyoto. Begin the morning with a leisurely stroll through Takayama’s beautiful old town and explore the charming morning market along the banks of the Miyagawa River, where you can sample local treats and shop for unique crafts.
Later, we’ll board the bullet train to Kyoto, Japan’s cultural heart. In the evening, a local guide will take us on a tour of the atmospheric Gion district, famed for its Geisha culture - a traditional art form of refined entertainment. You may even catch a glimpse of a Geisha gliding through the streets.
We’ll start the day early, taking the subway to the iconic Fushimi Inari Shrine to beat the crowds. Stroll through the serene corridors of its endless red torii gates and soak in the tranquil atmosphere. Next, we’ll visit the breathtaking Kiyomizu-dera Temple, a magnificent bamboo and wooden complex perched on the mountainside with stunning views.
We’ll conclude the morning with an included traditional tea ceremony, where you can immerse yourself in Japanese culture. If you would like, you can rent a kimono for the occasion (not included).
The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore Kyoto at your own pace. Whether it’s more temples, quaint streets, or hidden gems, the choice is yours!
We visit the Golden Temple of Kinkaku-ji, a stunning gold-covered structure surrounded by a serene lake. This destination attracts visitors all year round, but it becomes especially enchanting in winter. The sight of the Golden Pavilion against a backdrop of glistening snow is truly like stepping into a fairytale. Afterwards, we’ll visit Daitoku-ji, a peaceful temple complex surrounded by leafy gardens.
Later, we will participate in a traditional Kendo class at its historical dojo. An authentic Bushido practitioner, descended from a real Japanese Samurai, will guide you in learning the principles of this honorable martial art.

In the afternoon, we’ll head to Osaka, where the evening promises an unforgettable included food tour in the famous Dotonbori district. Dive into the heart of Osaka’s energy with its incredible food scene, neon lights, and bustling atmosphere in the “kitchen of Japan.” We’ll wrap up the night in true Japanese style – singing our hearts out at karaoke.
After a lively evening, and with a potentially sore head, take the morning at your own pace to explore Osaka. Dive into the trendy vibes of America Town, shop to your heart’s content in the bustling Shinsaibashi Shopping District, unwind at Spa World, or geek out over gadgets in Den-Den Town.
In the evening, we’ll regroup to visit the iconic Osaka Castle, a magnificent structure surrounded by serene gardens in the heart of the city. As the sun sets, soak in the views before heading to Shinsekai, Dotonbori’s charming “little brother,” where we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner to wrap up the day.
Osaka - Nara - Osaka - Koyasan. We have an early start today as our tour takes us on a 45-minute train ride out of the city to the picturesque town of Nara. Nara is famous for its harmonious relationship with deer and its historical significance as the former capital of ancient Japan. Spend time exploring the tranquil park and magnificent temples.
We then head back to Osaka to collect our bags, and embark on our journey to Koyasan. After a 90-minute trip, including cable cars and a bus ride, we'll reach our accommodation nestled deep in the mountains. Koyasan is a charming temple town, and we'll be spending the night at one of the town's traditional temples. We can experience life in a working temple and learn about the monks who dedicate their lives to this sacred area. Explore the many temples and shrines scattered around the area. Dinner will be a special vegetarian meal, made with ingredients sourced by the monks from the local area.
Koyasan - Osaka - Hiroshima. Awake to the sounds of nature and join the monks for morning chanting prayers, followed by a traditional "temple-style" breakfast prepared by the monks. Relish your morning in this unforgettable destination.
Before lunch, we return to Osaka and then board the bullet train to Hiroshima. After a 90-minute ride, take a streetcar to our accommodation in the city centre. Following some relaxation time, everyone will walk to the poignant Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where our local guide will provide insights into the area's remarkable history. You'll see the Atomic Dome, ring the peace bell, and say a prayer at the eternal flame. This visit promises to leave a lasting impression. Finally, we'll visit the Hiroshima Museum to learn more about the city’s tragic history before getting some food and wrapping up the evening.
Hiroshima - Miyajima - Hiroshima. Today, we journey to the scenic Miyajima Island by taking the metro, which is about an hour from Hiroshima. We then board a short ferry ride to the island, renowned for its verdant forests and ancient temples. Upon disembarking, you can take a leisurely walk around the island and pause to admire the iconic Great Torii gate, which stands partially submerged just offshore at high tide. The afternoon is yours to explore the island's peaceful charm at your own pace. Back in Hiroshima, in the evening, the group will gather for a final outing to celebrate the last day of the tour (dinner not included).
