We had a fabulous time on the tour. I researched a fair bit before going on the tour as I wanted to go to a few independent port houses. We got to taste 7 different ports over a 4 hour period. The tour of the first house was very interesting, even for my husband who generally dislikes tours! It was well organised and had just the right level of information coupled with a perfect amount of port. I would recommend lining your stomach before going on the tour though!

We had a lovely time in Porto and this was one of the reason's why we enjoyed our stay so much. The group was great, we tasted a variety of Port and would highly recommend this tour to others. We went to three places, learnt a great deal about the history and how to properly drink Port.

We met the group at the base of the bridge on the Porto side of the river. We were introduced to our tour guide, Margarida, and she led us across the bridge to the first of three Port Houses. Firstly, Margarida was spectacular, a knowledgeable and charismatic woman, and a lot of fun. The first place we went to had a museum, which was interesting, and we also saw the barrels in the basement and learned about how Porto is made. We had two glasses of Port there. The next place was a bar, and we had 2 more glasses of Port. But the final stop was truly a gem. We had three tastings at Vasquez de Carvalho, and it was the best Port we ever had. An employee of that place, Patrice, explained the wines to us, along with Margarita, and she was very passionate about the Port. Overall, a great tour, generous amounts of Port, a great value and a lot of fun. Highly recommended!

Lucas, our guide for the tour, was very amusing, knowledgeable and informative. We started at the Ponte Luis I crossing the Douro River on foot to Gaia. Visiting three port houses all close to each other, we experienced the cellars in which the massive barrels of port are stored and sampled seven different ports, both single harvest and blended white, tawny and ruby ports. A really enjoyable way to spend four hours learning the history of port wines, tasting a range of ports and getting to know he members of our group. Thank you Lucas!

The Tour was great. I wish Margarita (pronounced Margarida) could follow me around life and explain everything to me with the same passion she has for Port Wine. Margarita really made the tour and everything about it great. We learned about Port wine and its importance to Porto and it's history. The hefty portions of wine were great too.

Fabulous intro to port wine. Lucas our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He achieved his opening objective of making a group of people on the tour a group of friends at the end.

Great tour of wine lodges in Porto! We really liked the set up of the tour: learned about Porto and its history first, then drank many different types of port, then ended the tour on a beautiful rooftop bar that served port cocktails. Would highly recommend!

Booked two days before with Viator. David met us at the bridge and was helpful from the start. Communicated well to the whole group and really looked after us all. Interesting tour of the A. Ramos Pinto port wine museum. A short walk through Gaia to another lodge and we then had a professional tasting lesson. Tasted a mixture of 7 different ports, which were delightful. David had a lot of knowledge about the history of the Gaia lodges and the ports.

This tour was great! Our guide, David, was funny and knowledgeable and really made the tour a huge hit. We did another walking tour later on with another guide from this tour group, Porto Walkers, and it is clear that this tour company makes a big effort to hire not only knowledgeable, but also entertaining, guides.
