Excellent tour! Thabang is an awesome tour guide. Had lots of interesting information to share and did a great job of engaging everyone in our "family" (tour group). Enjoyed both the Hector Pieterson and Apartheid Museums. Plenty of time to visit both. The visit to Soweto was eye-opening and it was good to know that a portion of our tour cost goes to helping those in the poorer sections of Soweto. Lunch was tasty. All in all a well-planned tour that was very enjoyable! Highly recommend!

I booked the tour the last minute (like 4 hours before midnight of the departure date), but the MoAfrika Tours still made their best to arrange the hotel pickup. The tour was perfect and very knowledgeable. Everything went well as planned but slightly fast paced- I wished there was more time. The driver as well as the tour guide was always enthusiastic and answered all the questions the guests had. I had a very good time and I think it is worthy to buy this product.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour as I was so looking forward to learning more about apartheid and the creation of 'Townships'. Prompt pick-up , good pace, Nice air-conditioned vehicle, nice small group .Lunch was good-local Braai, nothing fancy but good to try local dishes and get a nice cold drink. Hector Pieterson and Apartheid Museum were very informative....I very satisfied with tour , very humbled to hear local people talk about their life in a township.

I'd highly recommend this tour with MoAfrica. Every aspect of the experience was well designed and executed. Scheduling with Viator was easy, pick up and drop off at my hotel was efficient, the tour guide, Bobo, was outstanding and sufficient time was allowed for each of the stops. Our group filled the mini van and from the questions asked, it seemed that folks could hear the narration even in the back of the van. The website accurately describes all of the sights which provide a good overview of major historical events. The BBQ lunch was delicious and fun. Two hours at the Apartheid museum after lunch was enough time to walk through quickly, but not sufficient time to really explore all the exhibits in depth. If you have limited time, this is the way to go!

The tour was very well organized and the tour guides were exceptionally well informed. A little extra time could have been spent at lunch and therefore shortened the time spent at the Apartheid museum. All in all a an excellent tour.

I absolutely loved this tour. Was picked up, on time at my AirBnB in Sandton. It was so informative and our tour guides were amazing. The most humbling part of this tour was walking through the favela in Soweto. Felt safe the entire time. The people are nice too. Plenty of opportunities to buy things. The food at the end of the tour was great. Definitely recommend this.

Benjamin, the tour guide and driver, picked me up form my hotel in Rose Bank on time. He was friendly and knowledgeable and had a good sense of humor. There were only 8 of us in a van with air conditioning. Ben gave us a synopsis of the tour stops and their importance. The company he was with was MoAfrica. That was my very first experience with Viator . I had always used Gray Line Tours in countries where it was available. We had schedules stops but he gave us a chance to take pictures in between. Our lunch was a very pleasant surprised. Ben said he ordered our lunch and we only had to pay for our drinks. We had barbecue beef, chicken, sausage, spinach. mashed potatoes with gravy and chakalaka, an African vegetable dish. I highly recommend this tour and Ben, our driver/ tour guide.

Bono was a great guide! He shared some great tidbits about Soweto. Because there is a lot to see sometimes we only have 15-20 minutes to visit some sights, however we had sufficient time to go through the Aparthied Museum which I highly recommended going to. I would recommend doing this tour, if you want some history about the area and the people.

I highly recommend this tour. The subject matter is certainly not happy or uplifting, but gives a very close up view of the apartheid era and what people are still going through twenty-some years after it ended. It was an eye-opening experience and one that our family would not have wanted to miss. Our guide, Bobo, was great and explained anything we wanted to know about and answered our questions in detail.

Sunny our guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. He is from Soweto and so knows the area well, its history, and culture. Visit to Kiptown Youth Project was great and uplifting. The whole family really enjoyed it and it was eye opening. Totally in awe of Nelson Mandela and the process of unity.
