Well organized from beginning to end. Had two guides, one who did the tour in Spanish and another who did the tour in English. Did not book the lunch but a tapa and drink was included for those who did not book the lunch and that was nice.

I absolutely loved the trip. The gastronomic lunch is a must have!!!!! The tour guide couldn't better. Well worth it!

Our tour guide Silva was awesome. We had headphones and she provided a narrative the entire time we we walking around Avila and Segovia. The lunch was great. We never felt rushed or that we missed anything. Learned a lot of history and walked through medieval castles! I highly recommend Julia Tours.

Our tour to Avila and Segovia was excellent. We were able to see everything that was listed by the tour company on our tour. Our tourist lunch was very satisfying.

Our guide was superb (sorry I forgot her name, but she brought her son, and his name is Danielle) she gave alot of history and explanation of everything, which made the beautiful scenery even better. Avila and Segovia were just glorious and it was a beautiful day. We chose to skip the lunch after reading the reviews... But still had a dish and drink there, which the server speaks very little English and he's very busy so useful to at least learn "dos cola" to get a drink, else he'll just walk away... We walked to a place called Meson Don jimeno close to the plaza Mayor to eat the famous pork dish and it was superb... We had about an hour before need to meet up with the group again, it was tight but doable. Ask to eat at the bar if too many people waiting.

This tour will wet your appetite for even more. If you have more time, visit the cities individually. However, if you have limited time, this tour hits the highlights in these amazing cities and are well organized by Julia tours. Our guide led competently although I would have appreciated just a little more description of how far away the cathedral was from the lunch point so we didn't nearly miss it. Speaking of lunch, I highly recommend opting for one of the lunch options.

This was an excellent tour. We had a group that was divided into two groups so those wishing to hear the descriptions in Spanish and English could with separate guides. The guide was well-informed and engaging. The material was interesting and the time allotted was perfect except it was hard to to figure out exactly where to meet once we viewed the aqueduct. The lunch was absolutely superb. One of the best meals we had on our month-long vacation.

The guide did a great job on providing all the historic information about the region. We surprisingly received one complimentary hot eggy dish an one glass of beverage, even though we did not pay for the meal option. The 2 thousand years old roman waterway wall is amazing high and big. But guide's direction to get to the Catedral de Segovia was not very clear so we almost got lost in town and nearly missed the group gathering. Alcázar de Segovia is very beautiful. I wish I could have stayed inside longer to taking more photos. Highly recommend if you have one full day in Madrid without any where to go plan.

Our guide Manuelo spoke English well, was knowledgeable and answered questions. He let people take their time within the frame of the schedule. It was Sunday, so because of this we could not visit St. VIncent in Avila which was a pity. We had our recompense in Segovia with the cathedral and the Alcazar. Altogether a memorable tour.

You see the Avila walls from a distant viewpoint, you explore Avila, there is adequate time to walk on the walls and look down. You don't really need to walk around the entire city to get the experience and I thought the time allotment was appropriate. The Segovia portion was very impressive. The lunch stop has many options available other than the one provided by the tour. We had a toddler with us so we went to a nearby fast food restaurant. We had plenty of time at the aqueduct, were able to explore the city some, then a wonderful tour of the cathedral and alcazar. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we went at a comfortable pace. This was a great tour.

We had the most fantastic guide, Manuel. I was able to understand him in both English and Spanish. He provided us with a wealth of history and knowledge about these two places. Both Avila and Segovia are must sees! We had the Tourist Lunch at El Cordero in Segovia. We were a little disappointed with our lunch but the restaurant was a beautiful one.

It took about 1 hour 15 minutes to from Madrid to Avila. We have about 2 hours in Avila for a guided walk and 20 minutes on the wall. It is a bit short on the wall for our visit. Then an hour drive to Segovia. We got a tapa but did not opt for lunch. We ordered suckling pig and lamb leg ourselves. If you have meals, then there are only 20 minutes at the aqueduct which is a bit short. The walk to Alcazar is very nice and the visit to Alcazar was valuable. Overall, this is the only way to visit both places within a day unless you drive or have a private tour.

Guide easy to understand, very knowledgeable. Although we did not sign up for lunch were surprised to be served one tapa and a drink.

The tour was incredible!!! Great information. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. Definitely would recommend this to anyone that loves history and anecdotal experience!!
• Submitted 22 Jul 2018
Our tour guide was absolutely great and very informative - you don't want to be late returning to the bus between spots because she left 4 people behind at Avila as they were 20 min late - they joined us again when we got to Sergovia. The walls around the city at Avila are amazing as you can walk around them. The Aqua duct !!!! what can I say - it blows your mind to think that it was built all those years ago Highly recommend this tour

Great tour. Very knowledgable guide. My only problem is that I was not aware of it being a big group- I would have payed more to have a small group tour had I known. Recommend this be included in the description. And the guide had a very thick accent- so if your not an avid traveler- you may miss some information.

Great value for the money. Just the right amount of time in each city.

The travel company, Julia Travel, did an excellent job of organizing the trip. We were completely impressed with our tour guide, Sylvia! She was very knowledgeable, helpful, organized and friendly. We learned so much about the picture book town of Avila the city walls were amazing, the Cathedral and Basilica were interesting to see and we enjoyed the walking tour part too. In Segovia, the intact Roman aqueduct was incredible and massive, the Cathedral and Alcazar were also interesting and fun to learn about.
