Stop At: The Rock of Gibraltar, Gibraltar

The Rock of Gibraltar is full of interesting history dating back to the year 711A.D when Tarik Ibn Zeyad, a Berber leader of the Arab Governor of North Africa “Musa Ibn Nosseyer” landed at the Southern end of the rock. The word Gibraltar is a derivative of the Arabic words ”Jebel Tarik” which means Tariks Mountain, and so his memory lives on.

Our tour guide had a great sense of humor which made a great trip even greater. Our tour guide, Roman was very knowledgeable and also made the trip enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this trip with this company.

It was a rocking trip worth every penny. We had Ms. Petra the same guide from Andalsur Tours who had the next day accompanied us on our Granada Day trip an she was as energetic, informative and helpful as ever. We were fortunate to have clear weather though extremely hot and got a very good view of North Africa Coast and Mount Atlas. Crossing an active International Airport on foot is an experience that most would not be able to come across anywhere but here. The St. Michael's Cave is another wonder as well. All in all a picturesque trip that will keep your camera busy.

While short, this tour satisfied everything I needed for a visit to GIbraltar. I loved having the transportation taken care of as well as a friendly guide along the way. The second guide on the island itself did a stellar job! Hilarious and competent. This is a perfect tour for an easy day to see a unique location.

Pretty good. Was supposed to have more free time than we did instead of rushing back to Seville as early as we did.

Gabby was a great tour guide. He had thorough knowledge and good communication skills with the tour group. He made sure everybody was through passport control going in and out of Gibraltar. He clearly set up meeting points in Gibraltar so the tourists could go off on their own. The main town square had cheap eats like pizza and fish and chips to partake in. When you enter and leave Gibraltar you have to walk across an airport runway, we had to wait for a plane taking off. A separate tour company takes you around the island by bus, with good narration by the driver, showing you the siege tunnels, monkeys and military history as well as some great views. You do not get to go to the top by cable car however. To get the most out of a trip to Gibraltar you would probably have to stay there a day or two in order to hike down from the top.

We did not know what to expect in this way, so we had a really exciting and instructive day. Our guide Paul chose us in time with the bus driver. Upon arrival we met another guide wizard who took us all over the island. It was amazing and full of information and history. We visited the cave of St. Michael and I got great pictures there. Gibraltar is amazing and worth a visit!

My family had a wonderful time visiting Gibraltar! We really enjoyed seeing the numerous monkeys close up?
• Submitted 24 Mar 2018
Excellent organisation and was picked up with no problem. The day was well organised and the guide looked after us making sure we knew where to meet. The only problem was the weather which couldn't be helped, but despite, we did see some monkeys! Torrential rain and gale force winds! Thoroughly recommend this trip.

Amazing guide, Petra - really knowledgeable, friendly, helpful. -I'd recommend to take your own lunch, so you don't waste time buying it. -Another couple and I, from our tour, went up the cable car - great view but this used up all of our spare time and I do think there were other areas I would have liked to explore. -The time in Gibraltar is limited.

Great trip. All the logistics were sorted out to enable us to enter Gibraltar , very informative tour of the rock including lots of history. Plenty of time to look at the caves and take photos of the monkeys. And good amount of free time to enjoy.

This was actually the highlight of the trip. Bring your passport with you as they will be checking. On a beautiful day we whizzed around the rock. The guide who was Gibraltarean told us the local gossip. And we had enough time for a fish 'n chips supper at the end

Great!!! I wanted to see Gibraltar, despite the fact that it is touristy and I'm so glad I did. It was worth it to be able to stand atop this rock and see Africa. And for me, meeting the monkeys was a dream come true. Our guides, Petra and Jesus with the local company called Bland we very knowledgeable and efficient and gave us an excellent experience. I recommend fish and chips in the square for lunch--very authentic.

The trip to Gibraltar was fantastic. The ride was relaxing and smooth. Our tour guide up the hill was not the best but he did have funny moments. We didn't like how he talked about his family so much, it was strange.
