The trip was terrific. We saw so much that prepared us for the museum. Guide was deeply knowledgeable about the history of DC and the African American community. I saw and learned more than I’d imagined. Recommended for all.

Wanted to see the African American Museum and thought this would be an easy way to get in and see DC. Well, it turned out to be so much more. Sandra our guide is a fountain of knowledge on the very important American History of Slavery and black history. I urge all Caucasians such as my friend and myself to join this tour to see DC and America in its true light. Loved seeing the MLK Memorial and hearing about the symbolism in the monument itself and more. ... DON'T MISS IT.

This was the best history and city tour I have experienced in DC, It was worth the cost. The bus was comfortable and wwll air condition. The driver was friendly and knew his route. The tour guide was very impressive, friendly and knowlegeble about all aspects of the DC monuments, museums and lots of detailed history. And the greatest highlight of the tour was the amazing visits to the MLK monument, and the AfricanAmerican history museum that were heart wrenching and so much history. This Tour is Totally Awesome. Everyone should take this tour, its a must. You will be so enlightened on history that has been left out of school books. Awesome Tour.

I will definitely be coming back to visit the African American Museum. My adult children will be visiting also on our next visit.

Great experience, gained a wealth of information about the African American communities and contributions in DC. Tour of Frederick Douglas house was amazing. Kenny and the driver were excellent. National Museum of African American History and Culture is well designed and addresses all aspects of AA experiences. I recommend this tour!

The tour was better than my daughter and I expected. Kenny made it even more enjoyable because of the history and the knowledge that he shared with us. He went above and beyond to take one of the ladies by the hospital that she first worked. The driver was exceptional.

A tour of the capital with many photo stops including the Mlk memorial and the Frederick Douglas House. Our guide Kenny was knowledgeable and had many anecdotes to share. The African American History And Culture Museum is comprehensive. A great tour.
• Submitted 20 Nov 2018
Excellent tour. Informative tour guide. Excellent driver. Nice shuttle bus. We got to see parts of DC that are less traveled yet part of the past and present AA community. Just the right amount of stops. Some locations warrant a revisit for more in depth experience however this tour was not meant to be all day. Enjoy each one and go back on your own time orGoogle for more information if need be. I recommend this tour for anyone. If they decide to offer a longer tour (eg all day) I’d take it.

Great enjoyable learning experience. The guide gave interesting presentations at each stop - historical background, artistry of sculpture, etc. At times he tied presentation with his family history. He is knowledgeable, friendly and approachable. Our group was a group of seniors. He was solicitous helping us on and off the bus, greatly appreciated.

If I’m honest, I booked this tour initially to secure passes for the Museum of African American History And Culture as it was impossible via their website. As it turned out, access to the museum was a bonus! The tour was punctual. The coach was nice and comfy. Our guide, Kenny, was a gentleman. He was also personable, entertaining and very knowledgeable. I’d highly recommend this tour. It is an excellent opportunity to visit historical and hidden treasures that are within the city but somewhat off of the beaten path under the direction of two of DC’s locals via KP Tours.

Enjoyed the whole tour, our guide KB is very knowledgeable of the area. He care about his guests and respectful of their needs. On my tour guest range in age from 14-75, walking pace varies we stayed on sch and no one left behind. We sampled places. The point of the trip is to spend the majority of the day at the Nat AA museum AND we did. A suggestion take this tour see a little of DC then see the museum.

This was a great experience. Jamal’s (tour guide) love for History and education is felt on this tour. We went to MLK memorial, Lincoln memorial, Fredrick Douglas Home, Howard and many more sites! The tour also included entry to the NMAAHC! This tour is a must when you come to DC!

This was a very nice surprise gem. The driver/guide was extremely knowledgable. He provided lots of information on African American History, Culture and Politics. Highly recommend this tour.

The Washington DC African American tour was very informative and enjoyable. The tour guide was funny and knowledgeable. The tour was worth the time and price, especially as it ended at the museum and we didn’t have to wait in line. I referred my family to take the tour when they visit DC in August 2018.

For the person who would like to learn more about the history and culture within the African-American community in DC, I would highly recommend this tour. Kenny the tour guide has a wealth of information and insight about the community and the different sites that we visited. Very professional, insightful, funny and interactive with the tour group. And the cherry on top, the tour ends with a visit to the African American museum of history and culture. To tell the true, with the amount of information and history at the museum, the visit should be the next day. You will easily spend 4 or more hours at the museum and that is not counting the 3.5 hours with the DC tour.

The tour was well worth the price. The tour guide and driver were a great team. Me and my daughters saw so much more than we expected to see. Jamal was super knowledgeable. The Frederick Douglass home and museum site was amazing. The city is a gold mine and we would never have know so much without the tour and Jamal. So much was explained. Another awesome stop was at the African American Civil War Memorial...Amazing. This tour is definitely one of the best I've been on. If you're hungry for knowledge, a good time, and excellent value, this tour is the one to book. Don't expect to just sit back on a bus, you will definitely be up and about as you reach each destination. The tour finished with our entrance into the Smithsonian National Museum of African American history. I looked online for tickets to this museum for months and there were non to be found. Everything was sold out so when I realized this tour gave us admission to the museum, it was a no-brainer.

The African-American History City Tour was worth every penny because it was a great learning experience. The areas of Washington, the sites. and historical and present day information shared by our amazing guide Lynnette brought everything to life. She was so knowledgeable and took time with questions from the group. I wish to add that the weather that day was awful with heavy rain, wind, and cold temperature, so the group decided not to get out at each stop. Lynnette was flexible about this and gave the group extra time where they did choose to get out. The tour ends in front of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, where Lynnette escorted the group to the entrance and ensured our entry. This was clearly a bonus since the museum continues to have a long booking wait. It is magnificent! I would definitely recommend this tour!
