The guide was excellent and gave a history of the neighborhood as well as the food. Walking was minimal. I do think it was a little pricey compared to other food tours we have taken given the amount of food we were tasting.

Fantastic tour of a great cultural area. Laura, our tour guide was fabulous in giving us a wealth of background information for each neighborhood. The food was plentiful and full of flavor and represented different ethnic backgrounds. The wall murals were outstaning...a must see! I strongly recommend that you book this tour.

Marisa was our tour guide and very congenial and knowledeable. The took us around for 3,25 hrs. We learned much about the neighborhood and had plenty of typical food. Even though they only served water we got sodas and iced tea on request, which we found nice. The tour was a great experience.

This walking tour was informative and tasty! Brittney was a wonderful hostess as she walked us around the several blocks of this neighborhood, telling us about the history of the Black experience here and the gentrification that is happening just a few streets away. There was a very interesting mix of goodies to eat along the way, including a platter of Ethiopian delights which I had never tried before, and a stop at a Jamaican herbalist who will ask you how you want to feel before mixing a concoction that will satisfy...we even found a new favorite bite there! We had some initial concerns about the amount of walking described for this tour but found the walk was easy and casual, just wear the right shoes and enjoy the leisurely pace. We started and finished just steps from the Metro line so getting there and back was very easy. I would take this tour again and recommend it to you as well.

My cousin and I enjoyed the tour very much ! It's nice to see it has been revitalized and the authenticity is still there. The sampling of the foods added a really nice touch too. Thank you Laura.

My wife and I liven Bethesda, Maryland. Yesterday, June 17th, on a whim, we took this tour. Our rating is 5 Stars, a 10, best of breed. It was fantastic tour. There were 8 people in our group and it was a fantastic group. However, nothing would have been fantastic if it weren't for Laure P, our tour leader, an absolute gem whose efforts went beyond those normally expected. This tour was run by CarpeDC which is an excellent food tour company. Great job everyone!
