The Beat of Rio

This week’s video pick captures the rhythm of life in Rio de Janeiro through a beautiful compilation of every day sights and sounds in this energetic and youthful city. While the skyline is dominated by the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer against the backdrop of verdant mountain peaks, on street level it is the lap of waves and beat of drums that form the centre of life. On the beach locals, or Cariocas, of all shapes and sizes spend the days surfing, socializing, swimming, and even do their daily work out, until the sun sets over the horizon when the drums come out and dancing continues into the early hours.

Can I go to Rio now? Please.
