Crossing Ecuador

It’s easy to overlook Ecuador and focus your excitement on the Galapagos Island. The country is the gateway to the groundbreaking archipelago where you will be able to experience animal encounters like no other. However, Ecuador is so much more then its famous neighbour. As the videographer and digital nomad Pete R recently discovered when he spent two weeks crossing Ecuador.

Arriving in colonial Quito, he hikes up the nearby volcanoes and heads deep into the Amazon jungle. He goes sailing through the sky on a zipline and takes an exhilarating journey down whitewater rapids. He comes face-to-face with the Amazon’s nighttime creepy crawlies and flies over the verdant landscape on the Swing at the End of the World.

Of course, it would be rude not to pay the Galapagos Islands and it’s array of wildlife a visit. But don’t make the mistake of not dedicating enough time to truly explore Ecuador.

School holidays spent in France first opened young Philippa's eyes to the world of travel but it wasn't until the age of 24 that she set her sights further afield with a backpacking adventure across Fiji, Australia and Southeast Asia. Upon her return to London she ditched the plan of making it in the fashion industry and turned her focus to travel, ensuring her diary is never without holiday plans. Since then she has swam with whale sharks in Egypt, taken the train to Machu Picchu and celebrated Thanksgiving in Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia, joining the On The Go Tours marketing team in 2015.
