Fun short train ride up an old logging trail and nice zoo experience with opportunity to see Australian animals in one place. Possibility of touching a wallaby but not an interactive experience. Good feel for Melbourne suburbs.

What a fantastic day filled with fun and education. My husband and I truly enjoyed the Puffing Billy Steam Train and Wildlife Sanctuary Day Tour. The bird-feeding, hot tea, and scones were a delightful end to the tour.

This was such an enjoyable tour for my daughter and me. The train was fun sitting with our legs outside the carriage and seeing the whole steam train as it went around corners. The views were pleasant of mountains, countryside and trees. We had morning tea and fed the birds at a stop on the way to Healesville. My advice is to wear long sleeves if you feed the birds as my bare arms were bleeding badly from the cockatoos sliding around on my arms and pushing each other. It was still a fun activity though. Healesville is lovely and we had a very nice volunteer who showed us around and helped us see as much as possible. Our main volunteer and some others we talked to were so helpful and enthusiastic about Australian wildlife and conservation. We also had time for lunch at Healesville. This was a pick up and drop off tour but they did try to encourage people to stay in town for dinner at the end of the tour so they didnt have to drop off at so many places during rush hour.

Loved it! Enjoyed it every minitute of it!

The train ride itself was really fun and you can dangle your legs out of the railings and enjoy the cold mountain air. The so-called traditional Australian tea before this ride is not really something to shout about. It was a messy affair of cold scones and very normal tea and they parked you at packed crumb-laden tables with strangers wherever there was space. The wildlife sanctuary tour is a good experience too but only if you haven't been to other wildlife parks before this one as it's rather small.

We were at the Dandenong ranges, and had the opportunity to feed cockatoos. The cockatoos would perch on you shoulders and arms as they fed from the plates of seeds. The Puffing Billy train ride was for one stop which lasted for a comfortable 20 minutes. We spent most of our time at Healesville Sanctuary. It was an enjoyable experience!

A really neat fun varied day. Ran smoothly by a friendly informative driver, the train was fun and the wildlife park was great. I'd do this tour again :)

The steam train ride was amazing - it is rare these days to see one of these let alone ride on it through the forests. Beautiful views, amazing and friendly volunteers. The Healesville Sanctuary was also a must do - highly recommend that you follow the tour guide they have so much knowledge about this conservation center it really is quite remarkable. All in all, our AATKings tour was an amazing experience! Large, comfortable bus with a very efficient and friendly guide. Highly recommend!

We went to several animal preserves while on our trip to Australia and Healesville Sanctuary was the best! We were provided with a group guide but were free to go off on your own if you preferred. By far the best place to get photos up close to koalas. Lots of psoralen encounter options too. There is indeed a lot of walking but you are given plenty of time to see everything even if you are a slow person like me. Puffing Billy was a fun short ride. I recommend sitting on the right side for the best views. The snack stop was yummy and the birds were beautiful. Be very aware though that they will dig their claws right into your arms and hands should you choose to feed them and they are very heavy. Several bandages were required. A very nice day overall!

The tour guide was amazing, he did a great job with the live commentary, and he really connected with everyone on board.

THIS was awesome! I would encourage the good people at the Healsville Wildlife Sanctuary to give their comrades at the Enchanted Adventure Garden Canopy Tour a lesson on what other divine vegetaria options there are to eat in the world, apart from chips and a sandwich made of two slices of wheat bread with pieces of a mixed greens salad between them. The tour guides were all great, and it was a treat to see so many animals being taken care of. It was a great way to see the world famous creatures of Australia in a supportive, caring environment!

The driver was very knowledgeable about the areas along the way and the destination. He was very clear about the expectation and logistic. The train ride was pleasant and fun. The weather that day was just too hot for the animals to be a little bit more active.

A fun day! Healesville Wildlife Sanctuary is an amazing place. Add optional encounters - check which animals are available the day you are there-lots of fun being with animals up close! Workers and volunteers have the best attitude - they love what they do!! AAT Kings tour gives you ample time yo see it all.

Great experience feeding the wild cuckatoos but make sure to wear long sleeves or be prepared to get your arms clawed! Kids had a lot of fun on Puffing Billy. Guide Paul was very knowledgeable about the area and entertained us during the bus ride. Enjoyed seeing all the animals from Oz at Healesville. Plenty of time to walk around and lots of food choices. Highly recommend!

Let's face it, with AAT kings, it's a big bus full of people. Yet, I enjoyed this tour. Very comfortable seats. Edward was quirky, very informative and gave individual attention. Puffing billy is a right of passage, cockatoo feeding is an added perk. Loved our zoo volunteer, Margot, at the sanctuary.

This was a very enjoyable trip and we saw a lot of beautiful countryside and villages. The steam train was a fun experience and the Sanctuary was a good way to see the fascinating animals of Australia. It did involve a lot of walking, and since my husband has limited mobility, they provided a golf cart for us to see everything we wanted to see. The naturalists and volunteers were just great. Also our bus driver/guide on the main day tour was very helpful and we enjoyed his narrative on the bus. All in all, it was a trip we are very glad we booked!
