St. Lawrence Market and Old Toronto Food Tour
from USD $75.72
Availablity
Taste where Toronto all began! Over 200 years ago, indigenous people would trade goods from canoes and fish for salmon on the shores of Lake Ontario, just behind where the market stands today. St. Lawrence Market has been around longer than Canada and the city of Toronto itself. In 2012, it was named best market in the world by National Geographic.

Awesome food tour of the St. Lawrence Market and Old Toronto. Our guide John was excellent, providing lots of anecdotal information in his storytelling. The food samples were amazing and quite diverse. I’ve taken many food tours on other travels and this is one of the best. Go hungry, you won’t be disappointed!

Michael, my guide, was personable and knowledgeable. The Market is bustling and offers something for everyone’s pallet. This tour goes beyond food tasting inasmuch as it includes a walking tour of the area around the Market, which I found to be very interesting. I was especially fortunate because my tour turned out to be a private tour.

Our tour of St. Lawrence Market and Old Toronto led by Ariel was fantastic! He did an outstanding job of mixing facts and fun for a great experience. I have done a number of similar tours and this one is high on the list! This is a must do for people visiting the area. Thanks for a great day!

Taking a food tour in the Old Toronto part of town turned into a very interesting and delicious experience, Our tour guide, John, was a pro, and gave us interesting pieces of info accompanied by food. It was great to hear about why Toronto is called

Wonderful tour and experience. Our guide was fantastic. Interesting neighborhood history and then the food at St. Lawrence Market was over the top!! Great variety and LOTS of food!

Of all the things we did this was by far the most interesting and worth the money. Our guide was knowledgeable and knew his food and Toronto history. Though the order of eating would have been different if I were in charge, by no means was it skimpy. You cannot leave this tour hungry unless you choose to. The stands you are eating from have been in families for generations and they bantered with the guide and answered questions. Every dollar I spent on this was worthwhile, along giving up my strict paleo diet for a day! I would recommend this tour to anyone, foodie or not. Literally something to eat for any and everyone.

Great tour! A heads up to set your expectations of the timeline... you have coffee and a pastry first thing, then walk around Old Toronto for 1.5hrs no food, THEN come back to the market and try all of the tasties! The food was so good, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend this tour!

Chef Scott was very knowledgeable about the food, history and culture of Toronto. He kept us on our feet literally, it was a walking tour with very interesting stories about the city as well as convincing us to try new foods. My boyfriend and I were STUFFED by the end. Such a great variety of foods and desserts and I wish we could have spent all day in that market. I would definitely do it again!

Loved the walking tour, of course we had a beautiful day. John was very knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor. The food we tasted was delicious and so fresh....the Canadian bacon sandwich was best....no, maybe the butter tarts...., no, maybe the cheddar potato pierogis, or the sweet drops!

Only ourselves with our guide - he was awesome, knew so much Toronto history. Very good at showing us around the market, and made sure we were happy.

This tour was a combination of history, architecture and food tasting. The number of tastings was more than we expected and the variety of food was interesting, tasting items we hadn't tried before, plus the guide gave us background information on each of the vendors. It was well worth the money and we would highly recommend to the traveler who is looking for something different to do in Toronto other than a bus tour. The tour gave us a great overview of the city and the guide a Toronto native was very willing to share his knowledge of the city, and answer any questions we had.

Well done - got a good overview on the history of the maket, lots of information on the vendors and a nice feeling for the surrounding area.

Great tour!

Once the tour started it was very interesting with a professional tour-guide. Very good impression of the historic parts of old Toronto. The problem was the starting time of the tour; we were not informed correctly about the time: on the confirmation voucher was stated start 14.00hrs. but, meeting point and time: 10.00hrs.! So we had to wait about 4 hrs if not we could have lost our money and tour!

Although our guide was very informative and we did learn a lot about Toronto, the food choices were not the best. I thought there was too much food and mostly heavy fatty foods. The pea meal bacon sandwich was delicious but then we had too many other heavy options and no walking in between the servings.
