Day 1


Welcome to the lively capital of Latvia, Riga. Upon arrival at the airport you'll be met and transferred to your city centre hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure until a welcome meeting is held at your hotel this afternoon.

Day 2

Riveting Riga

The largest of the three Baltic capitals, Riga was founded in 1201 by the German bishop Albert. The city today is a tremendous mixture of architectural styles and colourful buildings. Our walking tour will take us past some of the highlights of the city including the Freedom Monument, the Dome Cathedral, the Swedish Gate, the Three Brothers and the Large and Small Guild. We'll also make our way to Riga Castle, construction on the current building was started in 1497 and completed in 1515 and underwent a major renovation in 2012.

This afternoon an optional tour to the vibrant Latvian seaside resort of Jurmala is offered. In the evening you'll have the opportunity to witness and hear an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.

Day 3

Seaside Resort of Parnu

Today we depart Riga and head north along the Gulf of Riga coastal road, crossing the border into Estonia we will reach the summer resort town of Parnu. We'll explore Parnu before our adventure continues through the lush forests of Northern Estonia. This afternoon we'll reach the Estonian capital of Tallinn.

Day 4

Tremendous Tallinn

Today we explore the bustling city of Tallinn. An enchanting blend of medieval tranquility and modern urban life, Tallinn is quickly becoming one of the tech hubs of Europe. Our sightseeing tour today starts by exploring the old city walls before we head into the heart of the Old Town, where we'll see Toompea Castle, now home to the Estonian Parliament, the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the medieval Old Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall.

This afternoon you'll have the opportunity to join an optional tour to Kadriorg Park where you can visit KUMU, the award winning art museum which was opened in 2006.

This evening there will be the opportunity to join an optional medieval dinner at the 'Maikrahv' restaurant.

Day 5

Tallinn to Helsinki

Tallinn - Helsinki. Today offers free time for you to explore Tallinn further. Perhaps you might wish to take a wander through the old town, enjoy a coffee at one of the many fantastic cafes or stimulate the mind in a art gallery or at a museum.

Alternatively, an optional tour to the magnificent Lahemaa National Park is offered today. Covering 725 square kilometres, this national park offers a calm and relaxed environment for those looking to get out of the city. The tour will visit Palmse Manor, a memorial to the Von Pahlen family, as well as Sagadi Manor. The tour will end with a visit to the charming 16th century Vihula Manor and the chance to learn about a favourite drink of the region, Vodka, at the Vodka Museum.

This afternoon the group will come together and make our way to Helsinki port to board our ferry across the Gulf of Finland to Helsinki. The journey across the water will giving some stunning views as you pass by the many small islands that dot the coast. Upon arrival in to Helsinki a transfer will be waiting to take us to our hotel.

Day 6

Helsinki Harbours and Cathedrals

A culturally and historically diverse city, Helsinki draws influences from both Eastern and Western Europe. The green and lively Finnish capital is home to 1.4 million people and marches to a wonderful beat of unique design, architecture and food. Our tour this morning takes us along the harbour front and into the Senate Square where we'll see the outstanding Lutheran Cathedral taking prime position. We'll continue through the city and along Mannerheim Street, passing by the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall and the Sibelius Monument. We'll end our tour with a visit to the impressive Church in the Rock, this architectural wonder has been cut straight from the rock and many concerts are held here due to the incredible acoustics.

The afternoon offers an optional excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress, a cultural treasure with construction starting in the 18th century as a sea fortress.

Day 7

Vyborg Castle

We depart Helsinki this morning and head along the coast until we reach Russia. Crossing the border we'll make our way to the fascinating Russian city of Vyborg, a city that has jumped back and forth between Finland and Russia numerous times in it's history. We'll make a short visit to the majestic Vyborg Castle before our journey recommences and we head for the sublime city of St Petersburg. Arriving into St Petersburg later this afternoon, the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 8

Canals, Palaces and Cathedrals

With some of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in all of Europe, along with fantastic Neo-Gothic buildings and Soviet era dwellings, St Petersburg is a feast for the eyes. From imperial palaces to world famous museums and the many canals that intersect the city, there is plenty to see and do in this fascinating city. We'll explore the city this morning, visiting some of the incredible highlights of the city including the Peter-Paul Fortress, the Winter Palace, St Isaac's Cathedral, the Church of the Bleeding Saviour and the Nevsky Convent.

This afternoon offers an optional trip to Zarskoye Selo with the impressive Catherine’s Palace.

This evening you'll have the option to visit Nikolaevsky Palace to witness a Russian Folklore show with Russian "Champagne" and snacks.

Day 9

St Petersburg

Today is free for you to independently explore the canals and boulevards of this fantastic city.

There will also be the option to join a morning excursion to Peterhof where you'll have the chance to explore the incredible Grand Palace, Grand Cascade and Water Avenue. You'll also get the opportunity to meander through the wonderful parks and gardens.

This afternoon an optional tour to world-famous Hermitage museum is offered. With over 3 million items, it has one of the largest collections of art and artefacts in the world. This evening you'll have the opportunity to join an optional Russian dinner at Restaurant Pryanosti & Radosti.

Day 10

St Petersburg

Your exciting journey from Riga to Russia comes to an end today. A departure transfer will be provided to take you to the airport.
