Our tour guide Sergio is super good. He is very knowledgeable and provided the detailed information non stop, before and during the tour. We learned a lot from him from this tour. My family really enjoyed the tour. The lunch is delicious Portuguese three course food with wine. Very taste. The company cooltour Oporto send confirmation before the tour and told us what time we would be picked up. This is a seamless operation and I highly recommended this tour.”

We had a relatively young tour guide, Bruno, who had recently graduated from Tourism school. He was full of knowledge and enthusiasm and eager to deliver all the finer points of the area. It was fast paced but not rushed. The area was beautiful as were the sights. Lunch at the Diana restaurant was delicious. We could not have asked for a better day spent in Portugal. Thank you Bruno and Cooltours, well done!!”

My husband and I took this Guimaraes and Braga small group took and our tour guide Bruno was amazing. He is a very knowledgeable, very personable and very caring individual. He took his time to explain and tell us the history of all the sites and places we visited. He also took us to a local restaurant for lunch. The food was very tasty. We had a group of 5 people and we all sat together with our guide to eat. It had a family atmosphere. It was very relaxing and and enjoyable. I will definitely recommend this tour and make sure you ask for Bruno from cool tour to be your guide. My husband and I would like to thank Bruno for a wonderful and an awesome day.”

Our tour guide's name was Violeta. There were 6 of us in this group. Violeta was both the tour guide and driver. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. She was also very aware of the weather and modified our itinerary so that we would have the best experience possible. Our first stop was to Braga where we toured the 1st cathedral of Portugal.
We then walked around town then had an early lunch. Food was good, I would recommend the seafood option.
As the weather cleared, we headed to Bom Jesus Sanctuary. We toured the ground and enjoyed the beautiful views. Definitely walk down the stairs and enjoy.
After, we headed to the Guimaraes where our 1st stop was to Castelo de Guimaraes. After Violeta did her spiel, we walked around and took pictures. There is an exhibit inside the tower but you cannot climb all the way to the top. We then went to the Paço dos Duques de Bragança where Violeta toured us around the exhibit (FYI the items inside are NOT the original items from back in the day). For our last stop, Violeta took us to Largo da Oliveira where we visited the church and took pictures in the square.
Overall, we had a great time. My only suggestion would be to have a microphone in the van because it was a little hard to hear everything Violeta had to say while she was driving.”

Our tour guide, Hugo, led a great trip to Braga and Guimarães during which we learned so much about Portugal’s religious and political history. His warm personality and humor made the day fun and educational without it feeling like a heavy history lesson. Hugo also shared much about modern day life in these towns and Portugal’s culture, in general. Lunch in Braga was included as was free time in both towns to walk around on our own. A great day trip from Porto and ask for Hugo!”

It was just myself and one other couple on the tour. Hugo was very knowledgeable and an easy conversationalist. It was so easy being picked up from the hotel and a no fuss way to see two beautiful places.”

Excellent trip with an excellent guide. Do this one as you go round the castle and ducal palace in Guimaraes, some dont. Lunch was excellent, very much enjoyed with the small group. All we needed was half an hour longer to explore guimaraes.”

Pedro was our guide for the day and Hugo was in training. It was a very relaxed and comfortable tour. Both guides were very knowledgeable and Pedro kept us informed about the day and what we could expect. Our free time was sufficient and lunch was a true Portuguese experience. We were not hurried in any way and on our return to the city Pedro mentioned the clock above Fnac building. He dropped us close on our return and we got to experience the clock and its figures, which we would never have known about. Thankyou Pedro and Hugo for an awesome experience.”

It was a very thorough tour to all of the. Air highlights of Braga and Guimarães. All of the entry fees were included. Also a very good lunch is provided at a local restaurant. Paula was our guide and she did a wonderful job interacting with all of us and provided a very informative narrative to all the different sights. I felt lucky that we had her as our guide.”

Perfect weather, excellent and personable guide who spoke in both English and Portuguese. We visited cathedrals, beautiful churches, climbed the ramparts of medieval castles. We had a traditional lunch family style. At each stop we were given 30 minutes on your owntime. I did not feel rushed at all. Lovely day!”

Tour guide Alex if I remeber well was great. Tour took place even if only 2 booked it. So it was flexible, private and great. We had a restaurant lunch better than expected in Guimaraes city and not in a remote place. WE had entrances paid and we had time to see everything. Tour was more than perfect.”
