James was very informative of the history of New York City, The Stock Exchange, and even had his own personal experiences to bring the facts of history to light. We stopped in front of the raging bull which was fun. James was very thoughtful and had us stop inside certain buildings during the walking tour to have us warm up a bit!

It was nice to get to know about the history of the different parts of wall street. The guide was excellent being in first hand experience throughout his career in wall street.

As a former Wall Street insider, Jon did a superb job of explaining the underlying causes of the 2008 Wall Street financial crisis which claimed many greedy as well as unwitting victims. His sense of humor, combined with simplified but detailed explanations of complex investment instruments such as CDOs and CDWs made the tour fascinating for the financially sophisticated and novices alike. Although I had enjoyed reading THE BIG SHORT by Michael Lewis and seeing the resulting movie several years ago, Jon's tour offered an excellent summary of the Wall Street failure for long-term retention. In addition to visiting the fabulous art museums and other well known attractions of New York City, I strongly recommend this easy walking tour by licensed guides who were once Wall Street insiders. By the way, the 2-hour walking tour ended conveniently within 2 or 3 blocks of the 9/11 National Memorial Museum, so plan accordingly if both of these subjects are of interest.

This was a fun and very informative tour. We had James and he kept it interesting for our two teenage sons as well as my husband who works in the banking industry. It truly appealed to all of us! It was a fantastic way to give our boys a lot of financial history from someone who ecpefienced it.

A tour done by a former financial expert who really gave us valuable insights into the walls of Wall Street. If you are into finance, that's the tour for you

This is a fantastic tour! The guide was knowledgeable about everything that happened during the financial crisis. In fact, he had previously worked on Wall Street as a bond trader so he really knew the ins and outs of how things work there. The most interesting thing was the history of the area. Did you know George Washington was sworn in as President there? The tour group was small so you could easily hear the leader and feel his passion for the area. I noticed other groups were about 3 times the size of ours. It was expensive, but we really felt we learned a lot and had a great experience on this tour.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour, with George, our tour guide, who kept us enthralled with stories of wall street and the financial crisis, with a very clear explanation of what lead to the GFC. We covered a lot of the financial district, while listening to george, and I thought it was a highlight of our recent NYC visit. Great tour.

An excellent review of the Wall Street area, with a great narration of 2008, 1929, the 1700s and much more. Plenty of photo opportunities, and a lot of good character. Our tour guide George had great info for every question we had, and kept a good walking and narration pace for the length of the tour. We even went over-time with the full approval of the group answering all of the questions. Like any walking tour in a metro area, there can be difficulties keeping the group together across crosswalk signal changes, but George managed to keep track of us all as we moved from place to place. If you have an interest in the mechanics and events of this world-class financial district, this is a highly recommended tour.

George was great! The tour was jam-packed with interesting, little-known details. We learned not only about the financial crisis, but many historical facts and fun anecdotes about NY. My husband grew up in Long Island, worked many years in Manhattan, and was still truly amazed by the tour.

Excellent tour. Just the right balance of financial and historical information--- fact and anecdote.

I thought it might be a good idea to do the Financial Crisis tour and I was particularly lucky in that our little group got two guides the experienced Tom who was a trader / day-trader and now specialises in New York history and the new guy John who was a former banker for a major firm and then went to work for the Office of the Comptroller of New York City and was responsible for the debt issues made by the city. The level of detail was fantastic what were the CDOs that brought the markets to their knees in 2008 ? How did they get so attractive to the market and why did the rating agencies such as Standard and Poors and Moodys and Fitch get so unobjective about it all ? All these and other questions were explained simply and with the benefit of detailed knowledge. And along the way, you get to see the buildings that housed the banks and the agencies which ultimately paid the price Lehman Brothers, AIG and the New York branch of the Federal Reserve. All in all, a very good morning spent in amongst it all.
