Earlier in 2019, I had a great experience in Edinburgh with this company so I booked the half-day tour to take with my wife. It was a wonderful experience that ended with lunch at a restaurant we wanted to visit anyway. Rowan was a great guide/driver and we saw many parts of the city outside of the tourist hot spots. While the tour is more expensive than many of the big bus options available, it was worth it and we came away with a better appreciation of the city.”

Andy our tour guide gave us an introduction to Edinburgh, we thoroughly enjoyed his stories and all his knowledge. I had my First Scottish Beer at the Rose Leaf in Leith. Andy also gave me a Wee Dram out of a Scottish cup called a Quaich, Andy actually cost me money as my wife insisted on buying one for our home in South Africa. I can recommend Andy for anyone who wants a personalized tour of Edinburgh. PS: Andy, How was your wife's birthday? Did she enjoy the restaurant that you took her to celebrate at?”

Car was a Mini - tour was not. Very personal, relaxed tour of the city. No hurry if you want to linger at a certain stop. Very knowledgeable, friendly guide. Roseleaf pub great for lunch.”

Loved this tour. It was a nice mix of seeing sights, stopping to walk around great locations and an absolutely top rate lunch at a pub. Our driver, Rowan, was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. I couldn’t recommend this more!”

This tour should rate among the top 10 things to do in Ediburgh. Yes, the castle is an awesome place. Yes, the Royal Mile is great. St. Giles is a must-see. But spending a half day with Andrew ought not to be missed. We saw places we wouldn't have known to visit. We only had three days to see Edinburgh before returning to London for our anniversary trip. Touring with Mini Mack Tours was perhaps our best choice of the trip.”

Top tier excursion. These two brothers Rowan and Andy operate Mini Mack w/their Mini's. Absolutely most enjoyable excursion we took while on our British Isles cruise. Andy was like our being with a family member. Great educational commentary on Edinburgh as we drove/stopped. Took us places obviously that a bus certainly would never go! Quaint, out of the way places and surely quicker...and FUN! Flexible/asked if we had any definitive want-to-see stops and topped off by a lunch at a local Pub which was soooo good/great experience. We're not tiny people but the tiny car was terrific! Must do when in Edinburgh!”

Our driver Rowan was GREAT! Full of interesting information and history, he is funny, polite, able to adapt to what ever you are interested in seeing. Got a great feel for the city, and lunch at the end in a cool local pub was great. I would absolutely recommend him and this tour to anyone! His car Red Rocket is the cutest mini ever and very comfortable to ride in, even for me in the back seat. Great for driving around the streets of Edinburgh.”

The Mini Mack tour is the very best way to acclimate and acquaint yourself with Edinburgh, especially if you have a limited time in the city. This tour was superb.
Our local and knowledgable guide, Andy picked us at our hotel and then zipped us around to some major attractions that are a must see, he also introduced us to a hidden jewel of an herbal garden in a lovely park just steps from an old 14th century pub, the Sheep Heid Inn, where the Queen had popped into on a recent trip.
If we were on foot for the day we would never have been able to access as many wonderful sights or know the local lore. Andy was very affable and easily answered our questions and was open to our interests.
We finished our tour with lovely a bite to eat in a local pub with a varied menu.
We would highly recommend this tour, owned and operated by locals, conveying anicdotes only a local can convey, whilst tooling around in a peppy Mini Cooper! Thank you Andy!”

Excellent tour! Andy and Rowen were great and we had a very unique experience in Edinburgh. It is the best way to be introduced to the city and also to experience some non-tourist sites and gardens. The place where they took us for lunch was also very good.”

If I could give this tour six stars, I would! Andy was our tour guide. He's lived in Edinburgh all his life and knows the history and the sites inside out. Apparently Andy and his brother run this company, each having a mini Cooper to give their private tours. He showed every attention to detail, including having umbrellas in case we needed them.
It was a half-day morning tour but actually went until about 2 PM. He was waiting for us 10 minutes before the scheduled start time, adding a little polishing touches to his car. The mini Cooper although compact had great visibility for my wife and me. The vehicle was spotless, inside and out.
His knowledge of the city and its history was evident throughout the tour. He took us to areas that we would not have gone on foot, like high up on hills which gave 360 views of Edinburgh.
He also brought us to a couple of small towns which had some fascinating history. My wife told him that she was a gardener and so he took us to this pretty much unknown secret garden , just outside the city. It was spectacular and something that you would never ever see on an organized tour. We felt like the tour was customized just for us.
We finished the tour with a complementary lunch, at the Roseleaf Pub in Leith, which was excellent,
The next time we go to Edinburgh, we will be sure to take one or two additional tours with Andy.”

My sister and I were highly pleased with this private tour given by Andy. He was very accommodating to my sister and me. We were interested in the history of the area and seeing the highlights of Edinburgh without having to get in and out of his car. He was very knowledgeable and very easy to listen and talk to. He even took lovely pictures for us. The dinner provided was also excellent. We would highly recommend him to others.”

We loved our tour with Rowan Mackie! He was extremely knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas, as well as warm and personable with an adventurous spirit. We were only in Edinburgh for one full rainy day and so glad that we had booked this personal tour. It was such a treat on a dreary day! My husband, Marc, and I have already recommended Mini-Mack tours to several friends. We will definitely do another tour with them when we return to Edinburgh!

Spectacular tour, well worth the difference in cost between this and the usual open top bus. This was my 3rd time in Edninburgh, and I saw a lot that I hadn't seen before thanks to Andy's well planned itinerary. Magnificent!!”

This tour was absolutely worth the money. My wife and I experienced Edinburgh that we would not have if we were on a bus tour. Our guide Andy was knowledgeable local guide who gave us an incredible experience. We loved seeing the sights and places that we would not have found if we were on our own or with a big tour. We are thinking of going back next year and we will absolutely do this tour again.”

This is so worth the cost to do if you want to see Edinburgh thru a local's eyes and avoid the tourist crowds. Andy was our driver who picked us up at our hotel. We took the 2 pm tour. He took us first to Arthur's seat for some amazing views of Edinburgh. Then drove to Duddingston to see the oldest pub in the UK, Sheep Heid Inn. The Queen has visited this pub in the past. Then on to view some beautiful gardens and rivers that run all thru Edinburgh. Up to Calton Hill to see the National Monument, plus down to parts of Edinburgh that if you were not a local you wouldn't know existed. That is what we so enjoyed about this trip. Andy then took us to Kinloch Anderson who are the royal makers of the kilts for the royal family. Amazing place and beautiful clothing, plus you can view the room where the sewing is all done. Andy then took us to a local pub near by for a wonderful meal. We so enjoyed this tour and our time with Andy and getting to know him. He did such a excellent job and dropped us off back at our hotel. Recommend this tour so much and would take it again.”

After spending part of our day on a hop on/hop off bus tour of Edinburgh, we were promptly picked up at our hotel at 4 PM. We had already walked up to Edinburgh Castle and had seen many of the historic sights, and frankly, we wanted a respite from the roaming crowds. Our driver, Rowan, gave us exactly the experience we craved. He drove us up to Arthur's Seat, where we looked down on the city, which was partially shrouded in a late-afternoon mist. It was a beautiful and peaceful view. We then drove to a tiny village -- site of Edinburghs's oldest pub -- where we walked through a lovely garden on a small lake loch, and the miracle was that we were the only ones there! Rowan took us through New Town, which has row upon row of lovely Georgian townhomes. We stopped to explore another very old. hidden neighborhood beside a small river where mills once flourished. To top it all off, Rowan treated us to a delicious dinner at his favorite pub. We felt that we gained more of a feeling for Edinburgh in those four hours than we had in our previous day and a half spent doing the usual touristy things, and Rowan is a very congenial and perceptive host. He tailors the experience according to what you want, and he is dedicated to your comfort and enjoyment. We had a wonderful time!”

Absolutely fantastic tour. Rowan's tour was the highlight of our trip to Edinburgh. We were treated to a real insider's view of the city - from parks to pubs. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanted to experience Edinburgh from a local's perspective.”

Can't recommend this high enough. If you do not want to feel like a cattle being herded on typical coach tour, I'd highly recommend this one. The tour is at your pace and the guide Mackie is really accommodating and really knows the best of Edinburgh. We would not have been able to discover hidden gems without Mackie and we will cherish this experience.”

Truly fantastic tour in style. Rowan is native Scottish man who is very proud and knowledgeable about his city and heritage. In his mini copper he has got everything you possibly need......you know to find out I will the surprise away.
If you are a person who loves bespoke and hand crafted things in life..... this is the Tour and Tour guide for me. I loved every minutes of it and I have no doubts you will too.
