Scotch whisky is ingrained within Scottish culture.

The ancient Scots used it to heal common ailments and keep warm throughout the winter. And now, Scottish whisky exports make up one quarter of the UK’s international food and drink trade.

It’s a fascinating part of Scottish heritage, and on this tour, you learn about it at two distinct distilleries. You visit Glengoyne, a tiny, quaint distillery located at the foot of a delightful hill. And you explore Deanston distillery, a large distillery with a fascinating industrial past.

What’s more is you blend these delicious flavours with a visit to one of the most famous lochs in the whole of Scotland at the Loch Lomond National Park.

So take this tour, sample a delectable range of whiskies, and learn about Scotland’s national drink.

Fantastic tour visiting the slowest stills in Scotland at GlenGoyne and a facinating story at Deanston Distillery a former cotton mill. Beautiful scenery at Lock Lomond and lots of good stories and insights from Andy! The tours at the two distilleries were different and complemented each other well.

My wife and I took this tour to check out the Scottish Distillery experience. The tour included visits to two very different distilleries and an opportunity to take a nice nature walk on Loch Lomond. We enjoyed the tour and the tastings, despite the fact that there was a good amount of riding in the vehicle to get to the locations. The driver/guide, William, was very good and provided good context to the visit. It was an enjoyable day and a good value for the cost.

From the moment we boarded the comfortable van we knew we were in for a treat. Our tour guide and knowledgeable historian Graham ensured we made of the most of the distillery visits, the breathtaking countryside, the refreshing lunch break, and a few special photo stops added in! What a wonderful day!

Eric N was an amazing tour guide who gave us all we signed up for and more! Enjoyed the whole day. The ride was comfortable and interesting with lots of facts and nice stops the whole day through. Really enjoyed comparing two distilleries in one day. Learned a lot and got to try a number of delicious samples!

Informative and friendly and real Scottish guides, Eric and Dave! We have learned, enjoyed and drank proper whisky! Greatly recommend it 😊

Great tour and our driver, Dave Fletcher (or Fletch) was so funny and informative. He made the tour just that much better. Both distilleries, although completely different, gave a wide variety of offerings and I took advantage of both Company stores.

Good Whisky, Beautiful Scenery, and a great day all around. I very much enjoyed this tour and though the guide, Stevie, was a wonderful guide. I did however leave this tour with food poisoning so just be careful if you are planning to eat things you don’t normally (like haggis).

This was a great tour! Keith was an amazing tour guide and I really enjoyed his anecdotes about Scottish football on the drive to the distilleries. He does quite a few different whisky tours and was very knowledgeable about the different regions for whisky and what each of the regions means for the different tastes and distilling processes. Would absolutely recommend to a friend, and try to get Keith if you can!

Yuen was an amazing guide. He made the experience that much more enjoyable. I knew nothing about whisky while my boyfriend was more experienced on the subject, and we both really enjoyed this. The two distilleries were both amazing to see, and the lunch was perfect.

Great tour of 2 distilleries and views of the county side. Our driver Ewan B. was awesome. He took his time teaching us different parts of the history of Scotland and his family background. If you get Ewan B. as your driver you will love your time on the day trip.

You get to see some beautiful countryside and taste some amazing scotch! Be prepared to pay a premium price for your tastes, but it is well worth it if you like Whisky. Our guide was really fun and he stopped at some castles along the way...Bonus.

Our driver Ian a smart, witty and a bit of a history buff he led us through Scottish history on our ride to the disterllies. Arriving at GlenGoyne first Valley of the geese we had a wonderful tour of one the oldest if not THE oldest makers of scotch in all of Scotland. He gave us plenty of opportunities for pictures and stops along the way telling us the history of the oldest cattle, castles, cafes and tales of Scotsman and wars they fought in, after lunch at a quaint and delishious cafe we were on our way to Deanston on the river Teith another informative and tasty tour. Only to stop briefly at Sterling castle for another photo op before our trip home. Highly recommend this tour and hopefully your driver will be Ian!

We had a super day with Eric N roaming around the lowlands and highlands. He was funny and entertaining. We saw some gorgeous scenery and sipped some excellent whisky. Both Glencoyne and Deanston were fascinating- different and informative. The whisky tasting was pretty amazing too. Go for the two tastes at both. It was a fully day but thoroughly enjoyable.

I am not a scotch whiskey fan but my husband loves it and it was his dream to scotch taste in Scotland. He couldn't wait to go on this tour and it was definitely the highlight of his trip. Our tour guide was friendly told us some interesting facts the best one was the history of the kilt. Both of the distilleries that we went to were great. Loved the history. Of course my husband bought scotch and both. The day trip was worth it and our lunch stop was really nice too - we went to the Oak Room. I would absolutely recommend this trip.
