Welcome to Cuba! On arrival in Havana, you will be collected and transferred to our guesthouse.
The rest of your first day is free to head out and explore the city at your own pace. A group welcome meeting will take place in the evening so you can get to know the rest of the group and your tour guide.
Please note: Our Cuba tours comply with all regulations for travellers from both the United States and other countries. However, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct licenses and documentation to gain entry to Cuba. We suggest researching Cuban visa and border rules before booking your tour, as these rules are subject to change. We are unable to assist with visas, general licenses or other documentation.
Please also note: This tour is exclusively for female travellers. We operate the same itinerary on a mixed sex basis, please see our Active Cuba Adventure - 10 days itinerary.
Havana - Vinales. We journey to Vinales on day 2, a scenic 3–4 hour drive through the Cuban countryside. We spend two nights in this charming town, known for its stunning natural beauty and laid-back vibe.
Day 3 includes a half-day off-road cycling tour through Vinales Valley, passing tobacco fields and local farms, with spectacular views of the iconic pincushion hills. The ride is moderately challenging but suitable for anyone comfortable cycling around town. Prefer not to bike? A guided walking tour of the valley is also available.
Afternoons are free to enjoy optional activities such as Cuba’s top zipline, the vast Cuevas Santo Tomas cave system, salsa lessons with a local teacher, or a trip to the idyllic white sand beach of Cayo Levisa. Horse riding and rock climbing are also on offer for those feeling adventurous.
In the evenings, the town comes alive. With just one main bar, it’s where locals and visitors gather to dance to live music, making it one of the best places to experience a genuine Cuban night out.
Vinales - Playa Larga (Bay of Pigs). Today we travel to the historic Bay of Pigs. It was here that the failed American-backed invasion landed in 1961, triggering the Cuban Missile Crisis and almost a nuclear war between the United States and Soviet Union.
It's a long day of driving today, but we'll break it up with a scenic stop along the coast for optional snorkelling in crystal-clear waters—equipment can be hired locally at a small cost. We overnight in Playa Giron, a quiet beach town on the bay’s edge, known for its beautiful shoreline and proximity to the Cienaga de Zapata, a vast protected area of wetlands, forests, caves, and sinkholes.
Playa Larga - Trinidad. We spend the morning in the Bay of Pigs with a choice of activities: scuba diving over some of Cuba’s best coral reefs, a guided forest trek to spot wildlife and swim in a freshwater cenote, or a more relaxed morning at the beach with your guesthouse hosts.
The diving here is top-notch, with clear waters and experienced dive masters. The forest walk reveals snakes, birds, and bats, ending in a refreshing swim with fish and turtles. In the afternoon, we continue along the Caribbean coast to Trinidad. For many visitors to Cuba, Trinidad is the highlight. This colonial city is remarkably well-preserved and has a fantastic nightlife scene - it's the place to get acquainted with Cuban rum!
Trinidad - Sierra del Escambray. Our two-day trek in the mountains near Trinidad leads through scenic valleys, ridges, streams, and hidden waterfalls. No need to carry your luggage—national park staff handle camp setup and meals. We'll be camping in the wilderness on day 6. Camping gear, sleeping mats, and blankets are provided, though bringing your own sleeping bag or sleeping sheet is recommended, especially in cooler months.
You’ll need good walking shoes, swimwear, a hat, sunscreen, and a change of clothes. The walk covers around 10km per day and is manageable with a reasonable level of fitness. If you’d rather skip the trek, you’re welcome to stay back in Trinidad—we’ll arrange an extra night’s accommodation at no extra cost. On day 7, the group returns to Trinidad for the night.
After a physical couple of days spent hiking, today you have a full day in Trinidad to do as much or as little as you like. Optional activities include scuba diving, ziplining, horse riding to a waterfall, or relaxing at a nearby beach. Many travellers simply enjoy soaking up the colonial charm—cobblestone streets, old mansions, and lively squares. In the evening, the city comes alive with music and dance, with several live venues just a short walk from our guesthouses.
Trinidad - Santa Clara - Havana. On our way back to Havana, we stop in Santa Clara to visit the Che Guevara Museum—our only museum stop, but a worthwhile one given Che’s major role in Cuba’s history. We then return to Havana for the final night of the tour, with plenty of lively bars, music venues, and colourful spots to celebrate together as a group.
Today is departure day, and you're free to leave at any time. Your guide will be available until at least midday. While the airport transfer isn't included, it's easy to arrange through your guesthouse.
If you'd like to add extras or add-ons to your booking, you can do this easily during checkout. Just review the available options and select any additional services or upgrades you'd like before completing your purchase.
Departure dates are guaranteed with a minimum of 2 persons. 'Twin' prices are per person when there are 2 people on the same booking sharing a room (double rooms are not available). 'Single' prices are applicable to solo travellers wanting the privacy of their own room. 'Shared' prices are applicable to solo travellers who are happy to share a room with another traveller of the same sex.
