The extravagant Taj Mahal
Agra - Bharatpur - Ranthambore National Park. Today is the day we've been eagerly looking forward to. An early start is rewarded as we watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal. The Taj is perhaps the most extravagant monument to love ever built. It commemorates the wife of Emperor Shah Jahan, who unfortunately died in childbirth. After time to wander around this iconic Wonder of the World, we say goodbye to Agra and head to Bharatpur.
Here we pay a visit to Keoladeo Ghana National Park. This important bird sanctuary is a crucial wetland reserve for many migratory species. Enjoy a rickshaw ride around the park, escorted by a knowledgeable guide who will help you to spot and identify these birds.
Leaving Bharatpur, we make our way on the express train to Ranthambore National Park, where we'll be staying for the next two nights as we search for tigers.

Tigers!
Today we have a chance at spotting wild Bengal tigers in their natural habitat. Ranthambore plays a key role in the conservation of the species and we'll enjoy two shared game drives into the park. Tigers can be seen pacing along the dirt roads, sleeping under bushes or cooling off in the ponds. Sightings cannot be guaranteed but there is a healthy population of this iconic big cat in Ranthambore, so keep your eyes peeled! Leopards, crocodiles and other species can also be sighted.

The charming small village is off the beaten track for most travellers to India, and we're in for something special tonight. We'll be staying at the Pachewar Garh Fort, which is a converted haveli. It is more than 300 years old and overlooks a small lake. There's time to unwind in the hotel or you may wish to head into the village in order to visit the local temples.
