Wing your way over to Mulu National Park, a rich rainforest brimming with lush green flora, diverse fauna and incredible UNESCO-listed caves. Spend three days walking through primeval forest, marvelling at stalagmites, swimming in natural pools and towering above the ground on a canopy walk.
Day 1 – Arrive in Mulu
Upon arrival at Mulu Airport you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. After lunch at a local restaurant depart for Mulu National Park where you’ll take a scenic three-kilometre plank-walk through primary rainforest to the entrance of Deer Cave, the largest cave passage in the world. Next up is Langs Cave which possesses amazing limestone stalactites and stalagmites. If the weather is right, you may also have the opportunity to witness the spectacular exodus of some two million bats as they leave the cave in the evening. Overnight – Mulu Marriott Resort. (L, D)
Day 2 – Mulu National Park
After breakfast travel up river by longboat to Penan Settlement where you can browse local handicrafts made by the Penan tribe. From here continue by boat to the Cave of the Wind and Clearwater Cave – Asia’s longest cave measuring 107 kilometres in length, where you’ll have time for a picnic lunch at the pavilion and an optional dip in a natural pool. After having a bite to eat proceed to the Mulu Canopy Skywalk, the longest tree-based walkway in the world. Later return to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure. Day 3 – Depart Mulu
After breakfast, this morning a transfer will take you to the airport for your onward travel.
