Cairo - Luxor. Today a visit to the incredible pyramids and huge Sphinx at Giza Plateau. It’s estimated the largest - Khufu (Cheops) was constructed from no less than 2.5 million quarried limestone blocks, weighing around 6 million tonnes. No mean feat, when you consider the pyramids were built without the use of modern equipment! Maybe opt for a camel ride. Travelling on to the necropolis of Saqqara, innumerable sand strewn temples and tombs await discovery. It’s at Saqqara where you’ll see Zhoser’s step pyramid. Rising 6 steps, it served as the prototype for ancient Egypt’s most enduring architectural legacy. This evening we travel by overnight sleeper train to Luxor.

Luxor - Cairo. Today we cross to the West Bank of the Nile. The massive pair of statues known as the Colossi of Memnon are the first monuments we’ll see as we start our day's sightseeing. They are all that remains of the temple of Amenophis III. Today, we visit the Valleys of the Kings and the imposing colonnaded temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Returning to our hotel, we enjoy free time before visiting Karnak. More than a temple, Karnak is a spectacular complex of sanctuaries, pylons and obelisks - built on a grand scale. During the height of Theban power, Karnak was the most important place of worship. Tonight, we return to Cairo by overnight sleeper train.

I recently completed the Pharaoh's Adventure Tour with your Cairo Egypt Office. I left excellent/good marks on our final survey but forgot to leave my own personal comments about our excellent Tour guide Mahmoud Mahrous(aka "Mudi"). "Mudi" was an excellent tour guide who helped us really understand the significance, history and understanding of each stop on the tour. But "Mudi" went beyond our expectations by looking out for our safety by providing tips on being in Egypt and providing information on where we could buy certain items of high quality and value. "Mudi" definitely exceeded my expectations of a Tour Guide. ”
Well what can I say!! The trip was spectacular. Egypt was amazing. I went there to learn about and see ancient Egypt and I did. Tito, our guide, was fun, knowledgeable and took care of us.
All of the people from On the Go were great. From airport transfers to guides they were all super. I hope one day I have another chance to travel with On the Go.
Thanks again Charlie for all your help. You helped make our vacation the vacation of a lifetime!! ”
Hi there, just wanted to say that the trip we recently booked (Pharoah's adventure) to Egypt was absolutely fabulous! While the trip got off to a rough start (not met at the airport) due to the fact that van used for transfers broke down, we we're duly compensated (upgrade to sleeper train) so that we could get a good night's sleep the very next night and all was well form then on. The tour group was super and made every effort to be accommodating and pleasant
and we had a wonderful time. The agenda was jam packed with stuff to do and we we're able to see everything we wanted and felt safe at all times. On The Go was very organized and we were always told well in advance what was coming next and whom we would be with as well as where to meet.
Just had to let you know that we were very happy with the service you provided and will recommend you to our friends. ”
We have just recently returned from a tour of Egypt with your company. We had two families of four and we had a family tour arranged by yourselves, the Pharoah Tour to be exact. I must say my wife was a bit apprehensive to start with but after meeting Mohammed at the Cairo airport and then our guide, Ahmed Hamed, we were absolutely put at ease and thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour.
We had the most amazing time and the transport and accommodation etc that was arranged for us was first class. You have an absolutely amazing group of people working for you in Egypt and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to travel through that amazing place. Thank you so much for your efforts in making our trip a safe and totally awesome experience and if you ever require a reference for your company please do not hesitate to contact me. ”
My name is Kyle Blaha, and I recently did the Pharoah's Adventure tour in March 2009. I HAD THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME!
Thank you very much for a wonderful tour, and I look forward to another! ”
I just wanted to say thank you for helping me out to book my trip in a hurry last week! I had a fantastic trip - the guides were great and the place is amazing. And I was pleasantly stunned by the accommodation on arrival and in Luxor!!
Thanks again! ”

This trip was a childhood dream come true. My guide Ahmed Halel was amazing he was very patient with our group, exceedingly knowledgeable, eager teacher, extremely professional and overall an incredible human being. The experience could only be described as once-in-a-lifetime. I will definitely be returning to Egypt again.”
