Visit: Chiesa di San Vidal, Campo di San Vidal 2862, Venice Italy

Once inside the church, you are immediately struck by the principal alterpiece painted by Vittore Carpaccio: a painting that represents "Saint Vitale on horse and four Saints Adoring Virgin Mary and Child" (1514). Other paintings present in the church are works by artists from the '700's operative in different locations around the lagoon such as Piazzetta, Pellegrini, and Giulia Lama, a painter with not many renowned works. Opposite to the façade, you will find Bazzini's organ, built in 1833.

Loved every second of this concert. The ensemble were excellent. The concert consisted of two halves, with 3 concertos or a series of 3 pieces in each part. The first half was Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and the second half was a mixture, including Vivaldi and Corelli. The standouts were the solo violinists in the first and third concertos, and the cellist, who was very expressive. I love baroque music, but am not an expert. However, I thought the quality of the music was very high. One tip: get tp the venue before 8pm, so you can get first entry and claim front row seats, which we did. Overall, an amazing experience enjoying high quality, live baroque music (mostly Vivaldi) in a beautiful Church in Venice. Highly recommended.

Interpreti Veneziani Ensemble play Vivaldi and other composers with passion and skill. The venue is an old church with wonderful acoustics. This is not a 'touristy' show but an introduction to the very heart of what makes Venice great: Art and Beauty. Highly recommend you stay a few days in Venice and make this part of your journey. Enjoy!

this was a fabulous concert in a lovely setting. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, plus two other pieces. There are two different programs, alternating evenings.

A wonderful evening with very talented musicians; the musician on the cello is especially passionate about the music he is playing and its very nice to see :) The building is lovely too, just a minute away from Accademia Bridge. Highly recommended :)

One of the best concerts that I have ever seen. The atmosphere was great and the pieces chosen ver well played. The last violinist to play was the best.

We stayed at Hotel San Marco and we walked to this beautiful church where the concert was held despite the rain and some flooding. I imagine that people will not sign up for this unless they are interested in classical music. It was definitely an enjoyable concert.

Our last stop of the night was a classical concert Interpreti Veneziani at San Vidal, a church converted to concert hall. We came dressed pretty casual my bad and I heard about it from the girls, as we got an askance look or two from the other concert goers who clearly understood the unique nature of this event. We sat in the back. The music was Vivaldi native son of Venice. It was so magnificent violins, violas and cellos, almost indescribable from the historic venue to the amazing musicians. Our teenage daughters talked about skipping the concert all day and wanted to just go home but alas the tickets had been purchased. Needless to say, they loved it! Words can hardly describe what we experienced. It was reminiscent of Sainte Chapelle in Paris and the concert we attended there:

The performance and the venue were incredible. Very powerful. The musicians were excellent. Not to be missed. Be sure to get there at least a half hour before the performance to be assured a good seat.

The artists were in rare form and we were so pleased to have this be our first welcome to Venice. The church is beautiful but I must warn you... It only has two toilettes. The line starts as soon as the doors open and they cut it off and lock the doors a few mins before the show starts. Then it's 45 mins to intermission when the line forms even bigger this time they do cut it off again after about 10 mins and then you are waiting till the shows over. Come prepared.

Absolutely amazing. The location of San Vidal church was beautiful and atmospheric. The performances were amazing. Nothing like listening to live Vivaldi.

My wife and I attended this concert at 8:30 PM on Sunday, October 8, at Chiesa San Vidal which is not too far from the Rialto Bridge. The concert lasted about 90 minutes with a short intermission half way through. The music of Vivaldi was played by the members of the ensemble Interpreti Veneziani and was most enjoyable. Would definitely recommend attendance at a concert by the group if you enjoy classical music.

A welcome respite from the constant motion of travel and touring. Where else would one want to hear Vivaldi but in his home city? The musicians were professional and first rate. The venue, San Vital, was beautiful.
