Travel Advice Summary

All of our holidays to Jordan follow travel advice offered by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). The FCO currently advises against all but essential travel to within 3km of the Syrian border. Our Jordan tours focus on the perfectly safe tourist sites located further away. All tours are running as normal with itineraries focused on the popular sites of Petra, Amman, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea.

In years gone by the Desert Highway (Highway 15 between Karak and Aqaba) has occasionally been closed due to unrest in the area. Our tours are running as planned, travelling between Petra and Wadi Rum along the Desert Highway alongside thousands of other motorists. We are constantly monitor the situation for any changes.

Travelling to Jerash & Umm Qais

A number of our group tours visit the ancient ruins of Jerash and Umm Qais located in the northern region of Jordan. Umm Qais is the northern-most site that our tours visit in Jordan and is located approximately 12km from present day Syrian territory. The area that Jerash and Umm Qais fall in remains unaffected by the troubles in Syria and are safe and rewarding destinations to visit.

Travelling to Amman

Many of our Jordan group tours start in the capital city of Amman. The city is peaceful and is a safe destination for all travellers.

Travelling to Petra

As Jordan's prime tourist destination, the incredible Lost City of Petra remains a perfectly safe place to visit. Located 225km south of the Syrian border, Petra and the surrounding area, including Wadi Rum which lies further south, do not suffer from any unrest.
