It was an amazing day at Chichen Itza as Juan Carlos took great care of us from start to finish as the transportation, grounds, tour, food and drink were all top class!

What a fantastic day from start to finish.. I booked this excursion as Im currently on crutches and didnt fancy a long busy coach drive with a potentially rushed tour around Chichen Itza! We were picked up from our hotel by Carlos at 6.10am slightly early only to be told we were the only two on todays tour, fantastic. The Mercedes mini van was perfect, clean and really comfortable for the long journey.. Carlos explain how the day was going to go as we set off with our breakfast bags.. Chichen Itza was amazing. Carlos was so knowledgable and passionate about Chichen Itza and Mexico hes a credit to his company. I couldnt recommend him enough. The planetarium was really interesting too as was meeting a Shaman. The lunch in the hotel was lovely as well, there was time throughout the day to look around yourself and time to buy souvenirs etc. This was a brilliant day with a fantastic guide.. thanks

Comfortable transportation, small group though we were still held up by one straggler. I'm not sure what the special Viator welcome room is at the hotel. Planetarium was closed for refurbishment so we requested and received a refund for that portion of the trip. Getting to Chichen Itza early is a must because the site becomes swamped in no time whatsoever.

This tour was a blast, kinda early departure for a vacation day but turned out to be worth it. The Mayan priest, lunch and departing before the heat got too bad made for a very enjoyable day.

We really enjoyed this tour. Of course we had to get up at o'dark thirty for our 4:50 am pickup but it was worth it as we arrived early before the crowds and the heat! Our guide was very informative and we enjoyed seeing all the sights and hearing about the history. We also got to see a planetarium show air conditioned! and had a private shaman ceremony. The buffet lunch was wonderful and the food was excellent. As were the ladies who danced for us with beer bottles and trays on their heads! There was a bit of free time to souvenir shop or take a dip in the pool. We were back at our hotel mid-afternoon with plenty of afternoon pool time left. The bagged meal we received during a bus break about halfway to Chitzen Itza was a very nice touch and saved us from having to scrounge up breakfast before we left.

Great tour! I would recommend. Juan Carlos is the unofficial Mayor of Chichen Itza He has a lot of knowledge and you are in good hands with him. Getting there early allows you to escape the brutal heat of the day and experience the ruins with very few people around. Both were worth the 4:45am pick up time. We were back in Cancun around 3:45pm. The lunch is a buffet, but the tacos are not to be missed. You have about an hour of free time to go back to the ruins or visit the vendors. I stuck around the hotel to grab a swim to cool off and got the see the resident peacock.

I highly recommend this excursion. We arrived at the Chichen Itza ruins before many of the vendors, other tourists, and extreme heat had arrived. Furthermore, the buffet lunch was delicious with authentic Yucantanean-style cuisine. Out tour guide did an excellent job explaining the ruins and showed a real passion for teaching Mayan history.

Despite the early hour to begin our day, everything went well and we were at Chichen Itza and walking around the amazing architecture and ruins even before the vendors had set up! Guide Carlos and driver Luis were very friendly, and Carlos was a wealth of information on Chichen Itza! Great lunch too! A+!

Wonderful experience! There were 3 people in our group, accompanied by our wonderful tour guide, Carlos Munoz and excellent driver, another Carlos. The tour started a bit early I was picked up at my Cancun resort at 5:30 AM and our other two members were picked up at about 6:30 AM from a hotel in Playa Del Carmen which was on the way to Chichen Itza. The van was clean, comfortable, and the driver was excellent. We were given a lovely sack breakfast, including a sandwich, granola bar, apple, and juice box. Water and other drinks were readily available in a cooler in the van as well. We stopped a couple of times on the way for scheduled restroom break, always at clean and well-equipped facilities. Carlos M. was a fantastic guide, teaching us about ancient as well as modern day Mayan communities and pointed out many important and informative facts about the areas we drove to and from Chichen Itza and answered all of our questions readily. We got to Chichen Itza early, not waiting in lines or being heavily solicited by the numerous vendors of trinkets and souvenirs who typically get there and set up a little later. Carlos M. offered us an amazing personalized tour, talking about each of the monuments. We enjoyed the planetarium experience, relating the history of the Mayan people as well as the shaman who shared some ancient healing rituals with us.The tour culminated in a delicious buffet lunch with a show including Mexican dancers at the Mayaland Resort. After a short shopping experience, we all headed back to our resorts, with Carlos M. sharing more information about Mexican history, Mayan culture, pointing out modern day Mayan communities. Getting back to our resorts before dinner time was definitely an advantage as well. This was an excellent tour, well worth the early start to the day. I would definitely recommend this tour!

This was an incredible tour from beginning to end! The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and the highlight was getting into Chichen Itza through a private entrance and early in the morning before the crowds arrive. It really became a totally different experience getting to see Chichen Itza from a different perspective once you enter than any other tour. We learned a lot from our guide and had plenty of time to take pictures and enjoy. Also, we had a chance to freshen up at Viator's hospitality suite which was a nice break from the heat. Finally, the buffet lunch was really delicious and the Mayaland facilities were great! I'd totally recommend this tour. It's completely worth it.

Amazing, amazing tour! It was our first time visiting Chichen Itza and we chose this as it was different than any other tour including a private entrance. It was totally worth it. Loved seeing the site for the first time from a completely different angle and being there early in the morning. We avoided the heat, had plenty of time to explore and take pictures and our guide was amazing. The buffet lunch was delicious and we got to freshen up at the hospitality suite. I'd do this tour again next time we visit and recommend it to anyone.

Overall excellent experience and highly recommended. Juan Carlos was our driver and guide. Driver and van were on time to hotel pickup. Van was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of drinks, including beer. Breakfast was a ham/cheese sandwich, granola bar, apple, and juice box. Juan Carlos gave an excellent tour and answered questions knowledgeably. It was great to get to the site early, when there weren't as many people and it wasn't as hot. We did not feel rushed. Had time to take photos. Buffet lunch at Mayaland had large variety of foods, including Mayan/Mexican and international foods. Alcoholic beverages were included. Got back to Cancun around 3:30pm.

It was great getting there early and having some time that was slightly cooler. It was as good as expected but we would have liked a little spare time to wander on our own. We were expecting that because the trip said that we would have use of the hospitality suite, pool and towels but we didn't. We had an hour for lunch then we were whisked away. September 2016

Loved this tour! Our group guide was awesome, so knowledgeable and friendly! The ruins were beautiful and well worth the early time and extra money to beat the crowds! Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Booked this early access tour with Viator. Would highly recommend the early arrival. Julio was our driver and Mauricio our guide. Both were great.

Getting there early in the day is the only way to go. No crowds and a smaller tour group. We had a nice bagged breakfast on our way to Chichen Itza then we met up with the rest of the tour group. Our guide was great at pointing out and explaining everything. Though his English was a bit hard to understand at times. My kids, aged 9, 17 and 19 all had a good time. Lunch was ok, but the staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Leaving Cancun very early was the best thing - I was picked up at 5am by the guide Mauricio and driver think Alex was his name guide very knowledgeable and has good sense of humor. He managed to get us into Chichen Itza first! we had about 10 minutes of it all to ourselves with great photo ops. Accessing via Mayaland resort entrance was great and the lunch meal at Mayaland was super as well as the dance entertainment during the meal. Only comment: I thought we would have time to swim at the Mayaland resort in the afternoon and/or return back to Chichen Itza itself if we wanted - think it stated that on the tour description. Instead we left just after lunch...

Great trip. Oscar and Mauricio were excellent. Food was superb. Time on site is somewhat short I thought, and it would have been nice to have been offered a bathroom break and a water/drink on the ride back to Cancun. Enjoyed it very much though.

This tour was organized very well. We were picked up on time and given a sack breakfast. The transportation was very comfortable. Being able to enter the site early and from a different angle made a big difference. The film in the planetarium and the buffet lunch were also well done. Thanks for thinking of everything!

Chichen Itza was fantastic. We had a expert guide, who was very knowledgeable. The only issue was that the guide went very fast and was hard to keep up with. Near the end, my wife fell down and the guide was nowhere in sight. He later found us after finishing the tour and taking the other tourists back to the starting point. There was also a presentation about Mayan culture in a planetarium and a very nice lunch.
