I only had 1 day in Johannesburg so this tour was perfect for me. I saw everything I wanted to and Fresh was very well informed about all the sights, was polite, respectful and as a solo traveller I felt safe and relaxed. I would recommend this day trip

Clement was very friendly, super knowledgable, and had no problem adapting the tour schedule based on my interests and what I was most interested in. Highly recommend!

Solly picked us up from our AirBnB and drove us from location to location, all the while teaching us the history of South Africa. He was extremely personable and knowledgeable on everything we asked. He was a great driver as well and pointed out different points of interest throughout the city. The tour stops were amazing and full of South Africa's historical and political history. Though the past had a lot of violence and discrimination, these tour stops showed us how far the country of South Africa has come and how amazing the people that live there truly are. We are beyond impressed. Side note: the food at the Apartheid museum cafe was delicious!

My husband and I did this tour. At first we had our reservations about the safety of the city and the riots but we went ahead and signed up anyway since the tour would be guided by a local. We absolutely LOVED it. Solly was an excellent tour guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the city as well as the current affairs. We felt quite safe during the entire tour. We would easily recommend this tour and this tour guide.

We had a great day in Soweto and Joburg with our knowledgeable tour guide Solly. Solly is passionate about Johannesburg and it shows throughout this tour. We were picked up from our hotel on time and we started in Soweto – Mandela House was an inspiring place. There is so much of history in Soweto and Solly did a brilliant job in enlightening us. The Apartheid museum is huge and there is so much to read – you could spend a full day if you wanted. We were there for 2 hours and were blown away by South Africa’s history. You definitely don’t want to miss this museum. We then went to the tallest building in Africa and also Constitution hill. We recommend this tour as it was well led by Solly and you get to see Johannesburg in a day. This city has a lot to offer and we’re glad we chose Solly to show us around.

Solly was an excellent guide, really knowledgeable on SA history. Kept coming up with facts throughout entire day. The tour covered Joburg highlights really well, the prison was very atmospheric. Going into Mandela's House was a bonus. Highly recommended.

My family of 4 were part of a larger group of 13 taken on this trip by Solly. Solly was an excellent tour guide who told you about this history of Johannesburg as he drove you from venue to venue. We only had one full day in Johannesburg and this was definitely the most effective time way to spend it. Our kids (11 and 13) thought that it was a really good day too. I would highly recommend this day trip to anyone. Thank you!

This is a great introductory tour to Johannesburg and Soweto. This tour covers the important areas to explore the country's history. It's very informative and comprehensive. Definitely an eye-opener! Solly is a great tour guide that knows and respects his country's history very well.

My guide Solly picked me up at my hotel right on time. Although I had booked a small group tour, I was the only tourist, but Solly still honored my reservation. He was very knowledgeable and answered every question too. We had a great day together visiting all the sights. I especially enjoyed the Constitutional Court, the Apartheid Museum, and Soweto.

If you don't sign up for this exact tour run by Solly and his Phillipians Four company, you will be doing yourself a massive disservice. In my opinion, if you only have time for 1 tour while in Joburg, this is the one to do! Solly is the very definition of what an excellent tour guide should be. He should be held up as a role model to teach tour guides across the world what it means to be an absolute professional and beacon of knowledge. We covered a massive amount of ground in one day and along the way were given an indepth history of South Africa and it's tumultous history. There is a reviewer here that mentioned Solly talked too much. I don't want to be rude to other guests who leave comments here but why would you hire a tour guide and not want them to talk? If you just want to be driven places, then just Uber around town. I sign up for tours so I can have a knowledgable tour guide who not only takes me to the sights to be seen but gives me insights into everything my eyes are gazing upon. I loved this tour so much that if I ever find myself back here in South Africa, I will definitey book this tour again!

I had the most wonderful tour. Solly was excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. I was so touched and moved by what the people had endured. Anybody who cares about human rights, history, and reform should come take a tour with Solly. What a powerful and educationally packed tour. A must do for any tourist and to learn the history.

This is a must do tour while in Johannesburg. Our guide, (Solly) was very well versed in the history of Johannesburg. He made sure he covered all of the highlights. He was very patient in answering all of our questions. Solly embodied the true spirit if customer service. I doubt anyone else could have made this tour any more memorable than he did. If I was able to rate this tour higher than 5 stars, I would definitely do so.

Our three week safari trip ended in Johannesburg. We had a free day before flying home in the evening. We felt that a visit to Johannesburg would not be complete without a tour of Soweto. I am so glad we joined this tour. Our tour guide Solly showed up on time with a clean car. On this particular day there were just two of us - my wife and myself. So it really felt like a private tour. We visited all the places as mentioned in the tour descriptions. Solly provided in depth information about the places we visited and answered all our questions. We had enough time for most of the places, including the Nelson Mandela House. And Solly seems to be a popular guy in the neighborhoods we visited! At the end of the tour, Solly gave us a ride to the airport. I would recommend this tour to everyone.

Solly is an excellent guide and delivered as promised. Constitutional Hill, Top of Africa, Apartheid Museum, Mandela House and Hector Peterson memorial were stops. he also showed other places while driving around. The tour was great with enough time for each activity. One suggested improvement is to take visitors for a short stop at a reasonable/trusted sourvenier store.

One of the best tours I had in South Africa. Solly is very knowledgeable and had an unbiased perception on things. Was very well timed and we saw everything I wanted to see. Strongly recommended as a good introduction of the city

We had Solly as our personal tour guide for the day. Pick up was convenient from the Intercontinental at the airport as we had flown in from Cape Town and were only in Jburg for the day. Solly divulged a great level of historical information as he guided us around the city and then out to Soweto. The tour was well structured with an hour and half at lunchtime to see the Arpartheid museum and have a light lunch there to relax. A thoroughly enjoyable and most informative day and Solly was able to drop us back at the airport for our flight out that evening. Great value !
