Stop At: The Alhambra, Calle Real de la Alhambra, s/n Palacio de Carlos V, 18009 Granada Spain

On a rocky hill that is difficult to access, on the banks of the River Darro, protected by mountains and surrounded by woods, among the oldest quarters in the city, the Alhambra rises up like an imposing castle with reddish tones in its ramparts that prevent the outside world from seeing the delicate beauty they enclose.

Originally designed as a military area, the Alhambra became the residence of royalty and of the court of Granada in the middle of the thirteenth century, after the establishment of the Nasrid kingdom and the construction of the first palace, by the founder king Mohammed ibn Yusuf ben Nasr, better known as Alhamar. The fortress became a citadel with high ramparts and defensive towers, which house two main areas: the military area, or Alcazaba, the barracks of the royal guard, and the medina or court city, the location of the famous Nasrid Palaces and the remains of the houses of noblemen and plebeians who lived there.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Generalife Realejo-San Matias, 18009 Granada Spain

The Generalife is composed of a series of large gardens, where every corner holds a novelty and a pleasant surprise for the eyes, with a minimum of obtrusive buildings.

Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Andalsur Excursiones, Avenida Constitucion 5 Esquina con Reyes Católicos, 41004 Seville Spain

Andalsur Excursiones

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Nasrid Palaces, Calle Real De La Alhambra, 18009 Granada Spain

The habitual residence of the kings of Granada, their construction began at the beginning of the 14th century. The Nasrid Palaces are a palatial complex formed by three buildings:
- The Mexuar is the oldest hall. It was employed for meetings between the ministers of the king and as a courtroom.
- Next, we come to the Palace of Comares, which dates back to the era of Yusuf I. This dwelling was erected around the Patio de los Arrayanes (Courtyard of the Myrtles), and its side exits lead to the Sala de los Embajadores (Hall of Ambassadors) and the Sala de la Barca (Hall of the Boat). The Hall of Ambassadors is located inside the Tower of Comares.
- The Palace of the Lions, dating back to the era of Muhammed V, is also a royal residence. It is composed of a central courtyard, the Courtyard of the Lions, and halls along each side, the Hall of the Mocarabes, the Hall of the Kings, the Hall of the Two Sisters, the Hall of the Ajimeces, leading on to the mirador Daraxa viewpoint, and the Hall of the Abencerrajes, along with the Harem.

Duration: 50 minutes

Stop At: Alcazaba, Calle Real de la Alhambra Conjunto Monumental de la Alhambra y el Generalife, 18009 Granada Spain

The Alcazaba plainly served a military function. The entrance to the Alcazaba was at the foot of the Tower of Homage . At the base of the tower is a slight slope. A simple L-shaped walkway keeps the main gate from being seen from the outside.

Duration: 20 minutes

Stop At: Barrio del Albaicin, 19100 Pastrana Spain

The Albaicin is a “barrio” (a neighbourhood) of Granada which has been built on a hill opposite the Alhambra. The layout came about when Granada was ruled by the Arabs long before the advent of cars so the streets form a narrow cobblestoned maze interspersed with small squares. The geranium filled balconies, glimpses of the Alhambra at every turn, the silence and the sound of running water in numerous fountains all give the Albayzin a romantic slightly enchanted atmosphere.

One of the best tours that I've done and your best way to visit granada and see Alhabra, Petra was our guide and she was informative and super helpful

Excellent day and beautiful ride to Alhambra Palace, a awesome local lunch that our guide recommended. It was a long day but well worth it! Our guide was full of knowledge and very accommodating to all! So glad my family did this trip together!

Thank you for both David and Alberto as tour guides for this trip. Alhambra is a must visit even this is a bit far from Seville.

Very efficient pick up and drop off by Petra. She is an excellent guide and very helpful and knowledgeable. The Alhambra is amazing although we preferred the Córdoba mosque cathedral the day before better as an attraction

The tour guide who rode with us to Granda was very polite, Friendly, and informative. The gentleman who actually guided us at the Granada was very knowledgeable, clear in speech, funny and all in all an excellent tour guide.

In spite of the 3 hour bus ride, the visit to Alhambra was worth it. We didn’t have to wait in line to get in and we saw a lot, so much so that, in a way, it’s difficult to remember/process everything. Our guide during the visit to Alhambra, António, was excellent. He knew what to mention and established cultural and linguistic parallels to other cultures/languages. We didn’t see much of Granada due to time constraints but, overall, it was an excellent trip.

Well organised day trip, albeit a very long day from Seville. The tour of the Alhambra Palace was very fast paced with some people having difficulty keeping up. It would have been better if the guide had carried an umbrella or something to identify himself bearing in mind the hundreds of visitors on tours as the same time. I love the history of this area so I enjoyed the trip. However, there were some grumbles from other people.

Alhambra Palace and Albaicin Walking Tour is a must do attraction for those interested in history and architectural beauties from the past. Our Guide Ms Petra from Andalsur Tours (From Seville to Granada and Albaicin Walking Tour ) was extremely energetic, friendly and helpful while Mr Fernando the Local guide for Granada Alhambra Palace was extremely informative and efficient.. Loved the trip inspite of the heat.

We were very impressed with the level of organization and care that went into this. Despite it being a long day, due to the driving distance, the excursion didn't feel exhausting. The Alhambra is a MUST SEE, and we highly recommend this company. They did a great job! Our tour guide at the Alhambra itself, Gustavo, was absolutely wonderful.

Great tour. Will definitely recommend to others. Even it was a very hot day, this tour was enjoyable.

This was a very nice tour to some very beautiful cities. Petra was a very fun guide, full of information and did a great job with the tour of Albaicin. Marina was our guide at the Alhambra Palace, and she kept us moving and engaged during a hot (but gorgeous) 3-hour tour of the palace.

Kaela explained everything, quite everything, splendidly and in such a friendly way. She was courteous, professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. We were so fortunate to get Kaela!

What a great trip! Very well organized. Our guide Pablo was very knowledgeable, relatable and funny. It’s a full day trip, so he made sure to keep us moving at a comfortable pace. Alhambra is a fairy tale, the walk was great. I’ll go back in a heartbeat

My wife and I had a great time on this tour. We met at nearby hotel at 7:15am (5 minute walk from out hotel) and boarded a very nice charter bus. The drive to Granada was just over 3 hours, but we found it relaxing after a busy few days in Seville. We would highly recommend the walking tour, which takes place in the nicest part of the city and offers great views of the Alhambra. It's a fairly long day in total (12-13 hours), but it wasn't nearly as exhausting as we expected.

This tour was coordinated extremely well and went flawlessly. Everything was on time and handled professionally. Our tour guide at the Alhambra was excellent. We did not do the optional walking tour and instead had about 2-3 hours of free time in Granada. I highly recommend this tour if you want to hit the highlights of Granada in one day from Sevilla.

I was originally apprehensive on making the 3-hour trip (per way) from Sevilla, but seeing the Alhambra with your own eyes is worth the effort! I just stumbled upon this tour from Viator and booked it hoping it would be a good tour. The Albaicin walking tour was alright, the operator could have done a better job at managing the time as well as the dual language (Spanish and English). When we go to the Alhambra a different tour guide (Victor) took over and brought us around the Alhambra. If you can, book this and make sure you get Victor as your tour guide. He is both funny and informative. Great experience!

This was an amazing trip! Alberto was a fantastic guide and brought the whole place alive for us. There is so much to see and learn. Really enjoyed this day!

It was an unforgettable experience ! Without this group tour, I don;t think I can manage the time to see all the best parts of Granada in one day. They picked us up at hotel and drop us off at places of our most convenience. It was a long day, yet we were well guided and treated. Our tour guide Petra made the whole trip joyful and meaningful. Humorous, attentive and knowledgeable, she is the asset of Viator.. Thank you!!

I highly recommend this tour. It was excellent value for the money!Three hour bus ride to/from with a short break half way through. Our guide pointed out interesting facts along the way and let us rest for some time (which, trust me, you'll need!).Upon arriving to the Alhambra, everything was highly organized! We broke into smaller groups and were informed on how to meet after the tour (so easy!). The tour guide was FANTASTIC! Knowledgeable and friendly, and I felt like I left really knowing the history. I would suggest doing the optional walking tour. We had about an hour for lunch on our own (go to Aixa for a beer and tapas!) and then met the guide to stroll the streets and see the famous view. It was worth the extra fee. I think after the busy morning at Alhambra, I would be lost/bored wandering on my own. The cost of transportation, entrance fees, and tour guides knowledge made this a great value. I wish I also did this for Cordoba.-A solo traveler in my late 30s

Thank you to our guide Pablo who was brilliant and informative. Alhambra is a must see. The tour was well run and full of interesting information.

Great day. Long - 13+ hours. But everything went smoothly. Petra kept us all in line with good humor. I had a great guide at Alhambra; not sure everyone else in our group from Seville had such a great experience with the assigned official guide.

Very interesting tour, we started at Alhambra the visit last for four hours, and after lunch we went to Albaicin Petra our guide is very professional
• Submitted 09 Oct 2018
We really enjoyed this tour! Both our bus guide Pepe and local guide Gustavo were amazing! Gustavo was entertaining and kept us moving, but we felt rushed. There was not a lot of time to take photos and just enjoy the beautiful Alhambra palace. If you have more time during your travel in Spain, then we recommend you to spend an entire day here and do a self-guided tour. However, if you only have one day for Granada, then this is a great option! We definitely recommend taking the optional Albaicin tour. The Albaicin neighborhood is amazing and you will come across a beautiful view of the Alhambra palace.

It’s s long day, but worth it as you are steeped in one of Spain’s many interesting chapters. Pick ups start around 6:30 am with a stop an hour and a half later for breakfast and baño. In another hour or so, you’re at the entrance. Another tour guide takes you in a circular path around thes explaining the details of its long history. There’s a good blend of walking, viewing and narrative. There are a number of steps to climb so you need to decent shape, but it’s not grueling. The pace is just right. At the end, there’s an optional Albaicin walking tour with enjoyable places to have lunch and very picturesque views of that neighborhood and Alhambra where you just were.Petra, our guide, pleasantly kept everything together and moving along. She was helpful and informative.
