Tour group and guide in Delhi - On The Go Tours

Our Annual Tour Guide Awards

Our coveted tour leader awards recognise our best seven tour guides in our Signature destinations. The awards are judged primarily on feedback from our travellers, collected over the course of the year. Winners are then announced sometime in March the following year. The well-deserved winners get a complimentary holiday to another one of our destinations and get to sample the great work done by the rest of our tour guides elsewhere.

This year's awards

2016 Winners

Just announced! Here are the results from our most recent Tour Guide of the Year Awards. We've done things a little differently this year and alongside our six winners we've also crowned a Global Tour Guide of the Year. The winner of this new accolade is Momo from Egypt. A huge congratulations to all our winners.

We will be running our tour guide awards every year so if you’ve been impressed with your guide, be sure to leave us a review of your tour and let us know what you enjoyed most about your guide.

Hung says of this job: "I've been a tour guide for the last 10 years and I love my job with a passion. I get to travel intensively throughout Vietnam, my home, and share with clients - who become my friends - the fascinating culture, rich history, stunning scenery and delicious food." Hung will be heading to Russia next year to explore the historic cities of St. Petersburg and Moscow.

Feng Xinwen in China - Tour Guide of the Year 2016 - On The Go Tours

Trust is the foundation of a tour guide job, creating smiles on the faces and hearts of his family. This is why I love my job as a tour guide." As the winner in Egypt in 2016, Sal is off to enjoy the highlights of Vietnam.

I also get to introduce my beautiful country to those people." As one of this year's winners Akthar is off to Egypt to discover its many treasures.

Yusuf in India - Tour Guide of the Year 2016 - On The Go Tours

Here’s what she loves most about guiding: "My favourite thing about my job is the opportunity to share Russian history, culture and traditions with the guests of my country. My favourite tour is Russian Revolution where along with the big cities, travellers get to visit the provincial and ancient town of Novgorod." As our 2016 winner in Russia, Dasha will be travelling with us to discover the wonders of China.

Anh and Haytham Pyramids

Tourism in Egypt has been hit hard and it's not easy committing to years of study to qualify as an Egyptologist guide. So we have launched a new initiative in Egypt where we sponsor one of our talented transfer reps through university, at the end of which they will be a fully qualified guide, well versed in Egyptology. This year we've sponsored Sherif Fawzy in becoming an Egyptologist and he has recently received his guiding license. Previously our Field Manager in Cairo, Sherif, is now ready to start leading our King Tutankhamen and King Ramses tours, sharing his knowledge and passion for Egypt with the lucky travellers.
