Martin was really great. He picked me up right from my AirBNB so I did not have to find a meeting point or anything for the tour. Very friendly and easy to talk to. He gave all of us an overview of what was included and what to expect. The views were absolutely beautiful even though it was a little foggy that day (but it is expected for January). It was the best thing I could have done to end my vacation. I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves hiking.

We really enjoyed our trip to the National Parks. Pavla was an excellent guide. Her English is terrific, and she is knowledgeable and very personable. Thank you for a lovely trip into the mountains!

Our guide Vojta was very personable and made sure everyone was having a good time. He went at a pace that everyone was comfortable with. The views were amazing and shouldn’t be missed. I would highly recommend this tour. It was an overall amazing experience.

Weather was great. Picked up and got away on time. No waiting. Martin our guide was friendly and very helpful. Overall a great way to spend the day!

The tour was amazing, with some of the best views. Our guide knew the area and even provided some local information on the drive up. We did the easier tour, it was beautiful and still quite a hike. The drive to and from the park is a bit long (about 2 hours) and the van we had was packed so it was not a comfortable ride. During the hike, our guide was very accommodating to the varying level of fitness and made sure no one was left behind. There are some more difficult parts of the easy path as you are hiking up and down a gorge and for Bastei there are several steps. At the end of the tour, my fitness tracker had 7.5 miles and 15 flights Dress in layers, the temperature variance along the path is substantial.

I'd chosen Hike + Gondola boat option. The 16 km hiking is "moderate" and could be an easy hike, if you are an experienced hiker - after about 1.5 hr of moderate ascending, you are rewarded with beautiful panoramic view of Pravcicka Gate and German Saxony border. The rest of hike was gradual decent. The lunch offered in the restaurant was tasty! We returned to trail head via boat ride in Kamenice river (nice and cool air!) with navigator joking on the geological formations to keep us entertained.

A very well organised excursion. Beginning with an on-time taxi (taxis included in the excursion cost) pick up at our hotel which transferred us to the central Prague departure point where we were met by our Guide Zuzka. From there the seven of us headed to the Czech village of Hrensko, the starting point for the Czech leg of the hiking. The hiking, a nice easy stroll in a beautiful creek gorge up to a picturesque dam. From there we were on a boat ride (propelled by a gondolier pushing on a long pole) further up the gorge to see the beauty not accessible by foot. The end point of the boat ride was a second way point for a leg stretch and further picture opportunities. We went back down the way we came, for the drive to the lunch stop and the German portion of the trip. In contrast to the lush greenery of the gorge hike, the German hike is in the part of the park with dramatic Sandstone columns and views all the way back into Switzerland. All very dramatic and more than worth the day out of Prague. our Guide Zuzka was fantastic. She spoke very good English and answered all of our questions thoroughly. She has a real passion for sharing the natural beauty of this park with her guests. Upon returning to Prague after a full day Zuzka ensured all of the guests got back to their hotels without any issues, she arranged for our taxi to take us back to our hotel to save us from a twenty minute walk. We would highly recommend this day trip to anyone who enjoys the great outdoors.

Pavla made our trip very memorable. She was so easy to be around and she took such good care of our group. It was my husband’s birthday and she even arranged a special treat at lunch. The park is wonderful and so beautiful. The lunch was delicious! It was a great day.

Good tour with beautifvul scenery. Alittle tiring, because the slope is steep and hard to walk without using a stick. The tour guide is excellent.

I don’t normally do tours but I decided to do this one to save myself the headache of transportation. Wow! I’m so glad I did! The transportation was a breeze. They even had WiFi on the very comfortable van. I’d say the park is a must see if you are in Czech and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and understanding. I was traveling alone so she took pictures of me along the way which my mother will appreciate. I was also able to learn a lot about Czech culture in addition to the history of the park. This tour was totally worth the time and money!

I booked the trip one day before and even though got a place. For that reason, the car didn't take me directly, but they sent a Taxi without costs for me, great! I received all needed information concerning the taxi and the pickup time, it was very precise. They also warned me per e-mail that the kind of tour I chose was, to quote, "designed for very active and sport people who are used to outdoor activities". I am very active and involved with sport, however I kind of think that the tour was not that hard. We had two girls in the group that ignored this information and that weren't aparently so "active and used to sport activities", unfortunately one of them had to make a huge pause. So I wouldn't ignore this information. The guide was very very friendly and did everything he could to make our experience unique. The food was great, the restaurant very nice (here I just missed a dessert at the end, but it's ok). The duration was perfect, car was very comfortable wlan really worked most of the times (there are of course some places with no coverage, not even for mobile network). The choice of places was perfect, the whole tour went without any stress concerning tickets, queues or whatever. I can only give a 9.9 to it (10 if dessert was there :P). Thanks a lot, well paid money.

Who were picked up on time by our awesome tour leader Sharka. She goes to an unbelievably beautiful hike along the River on the Bohemian side. And we had a very entertaining boat ride up the river... We couldn't understand a word the guide said, but we were laughing the whole way this is animation, smiles and harmonica!!! Within went to the German side where we were able to see some unbelievable rock formations in Bastei national Park.we saw the ruins of a castle that have been built in the most precarious place you could imagine. By far the best what's on guides consistent sharing of information about everywhere we went. Recommended highly!!!

If you are active and enjoy the outdoors, this tour is for you! Our guide Honza was wonderful. We were picked up at our hotel in a beautiful clean and well equipped van. We each received a goodie bag of an apple, a banana , snack bar and a bottle of water. We enjoyed the entire day and the lunch was GREAT! We had a little bit of drizzle but Honza was prepared with rain coats for everyone. Our family consisted of two twenty somethings that are very active hikers, one college gamer (not active) and my husband who is in desperate need of a knee replacement and myself who is in average shape for a 53 year old. All of us were FINE on this hike, although I will warn there are quite a few steps to get down to the gorge. If you are not used to being out doors and walking about, this would be challenging and possibly tiring but not impossible. We saw people of ALL ages, as well as small children and ladies in heels (no idea why) doing the same trails. All in all a great way to see the area.

The first part of the tour involved a short hike through the forest and a boat ride which was outstanding. We then proceeded to the National Park where we were greeted with spectacular views....similar to a mini Grand Canyon! Our tour guide Martin did a wonderful job of pacing the hike and telling us the history of the area.
• Submitted 14 Aug 2019
The harder was 10 miles but didn't feel challenging at all! Absolutely incredible views and got a ton of information from Homza whose passion for nature and the outdoors shows. Everything was according to plan and we'll explained. I couldn't recommend this more. Thank you!

I recently took this guided hike with Northern Hikes and greatly enjoyed it. It's a great way to escape Prague for a day and see a lot of the great nature that's nearby. The paths are clearly marked and groomed with places to have food and drink at the top at the sandstone arch. Our guide, Zuzka was very knowledgeable not only about the park but with the area as well. The hike is long but not too strenuous. I highly recommend this trip with Northern Hikes and ask for Zuzka to be your guide!

At the beginning we were a bit circumspect about this trip as this involved trekking and we are not the outdoor types (also travelling with parents and a toddler). However, this turned out to be the highlight of our central Europe trip this summer. Sarka, our guide, was one of the best tour guides we have traveled with in any of our trips. She was extremely accommodating, making sure that the trip was absolutely customized to how we wanted it to be. Since it was an early start, she was thoughtful enough to get breakfast boxes packed for each one of us ! By the end of it, she had become a part of our family. The trip itself was very nice and comprised two parts - a light trekking alongside a river followed by a boat ride and then a trip to the famous and very very pretty sandstone formations (this part is in Germany). We loved both of them. The trekking was light and relaxed, and even my parents did not find it tough at all. It was pristine and we really liked the boat ride (the boatman was funny too !). The next part was a trip to the Bastei bridge which was very pretty and nothing like what we have seen before. In summary, we highly recommend this daytrip by Northern Hikes - an unmissable experience. Thanks Sarka !!!
