For me this was the best one-day tour I have ever experienced. Sarah is an outstanding guide and maximised photo opportunities by warning us when each new dramatic photo opportunity was about to evolve. This is a Jam-packed tour where you are occupied for the full 12 hours, viewing one jaw-dropping scene after another guided by someone who is as passionate about the tour and what you see, as they were the first time they saw it themselves....totally understandable as you take in the most breath-taking scenery you are ever likely to see. The schedule is tight and I would have liked more time in St Moritz, but it has given me the incentive to return to do exactly that...

The train ride and the views are indescribably spectacular and a great way to see the alps for the first time and in a very short period of time. Even the bus ride from Milan to Torino is very scenic. Our bus stopped in Tirano at the Shrine of the Madonna di Tirano and this church which was completed in 1513 is a beautiful church full of history. The carved organ is a must see.. If you stop for lunch in Tirano before boarding the train, I strongly recommend that you pass on the tour guide's reco and go to the Merizzi restaurant for a fantastic meal. One way the experience on the train ride could be improved, is by having a tour guide that more proactively advises the group when the best views are coming. Our tour guide did none of that. We passed waterfalls and great views so quickly that it was nearly impossible to snap a photo unless you were looking through your camera lense the whole time, which of course is impractical to do because one must experience the trip vs photographing it the whole time. That's why some simple advance notice of the 5 or so most picturesque views that were coming up would have been a very simple thing a tour guide could have done.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour , guide was very informative and knowledgeable, looked after everyone, the train journey itself was fantastic! The views are breathtaking, stunning and worth the cost ! The bus driver was great, and felt safe with her driving, and the guide gave good information around Milan as well.

My husband and I booked this day tour as our 2nd Wedding anniversary present. It was worth every cent and more that we paid. The scenery is breathtaking and we have some extremely beautiful photos. If you have the opportunity to do this day tour I highly recommend that you do it, you won't be disappointed.

The Bernina Rail tour was the HIGHLIGHT of our trip to Italy! The Coach Ride to Tirana was nice and the town was quaint and quiet ( this time of year) The fun began with the ride itself. Hours of breathtaking scenery and lovely towns in the Alps. Time in St Moritz was short and expensive. After a long day, the coach ride home was fine. Had a great day, would do it again!

The tour was spectacular, the view the information received. We even had a few stops that were just incredible. The tour guide was so awesome, the driver she did a fantastic job driving. We have so many beautiful pictures is just worth every penny.

The views from the train were beautiful. Sit on the left side (the guides told us it didn’t matter but it does). The tour was in both English and Spanish (as stated in confirmation). Both guides would give information in both languages. If you have two guides and they speak both languages, why not have one speak in Spanish and one in English? This would be particularly nice when the group is divided and walking through town. Also, I think most of the participants agreed that less time should be spent in Tirano and more in St Moritz. Both of our guides were super friendly and nice and their talks were informative. The day was amazing and even if no one spoke a word, just the scenery is worth the money and time. Absolutely breathtaking!!!

It's a long full day from Milan, but if you ever have a chance to take this train, do it. The scenery is beyond spectacular. This had been recommended by our TA and it did not disappoint.

Loved every minute of the trip! It’s a long day but really worth it. Could have used some more time in St Moritz.

We missed the train and the tour because we got our days mixed up. You reminded us via text, but we still mixed up our dates and missed this tour. We were really looking forward to this tour.

The only thing is I wish we went our own way for lunch. The food was good but the presentation was lacking. Not enough portions of food were given. Literature would’ve been nice to have about the valley and the wine made there. The guides were wonderful and I can’t say enough about the amazing views!

It was a great journey, beautiful and mesmerizing views.... Loved it. We were on Italy trip and we wanted to visit a place covered with snow so we planned Switzerland also but do not want to change hotels again and again so we opted for Bernina Express, it was a awesome day tour

The trip on the Bernina Express to St. Moritz is simply breathtaking... our tour had a reserved car so no problem getting seats with spectacular views on both sides. The bus trip to Tirano (to get the train) is about 90 minutes and really just a quick stop to see the church which is beautiful and to grab lunch. Would recommend you not do the tour suggested set lunch at 16 Euros - price is OK but choice is limited and just so-so. The return bus ride from St. Moritz to Milan is 4 hours with a relief stop.. so as I've titled the review... a long day... but worth it.

The train ride was amazing. The scenery as breathtaking during the journey. It would have been prefect if the stay at St Moritz was an hour longer.

The train journey through the alps was amazing, and you need to do it if you get a chance. The tour guides were ok, just needed to make sure everyone was off the bus then start the discussion/walking parts of the tour (before the train). Tour offered time in Torino prior to boarding train, allowing lunch shopping etc, but the train tour is what will blow you out of the water. Hopefully the open air carriages are attached and if so, this will make it excellent.

On a fine day like we encountered this is a sensational tour. Even the views on the bus to Tirano were worth seeing. Once on the train winding our way up into the Alps the views were just sensational. Then the return trip from St Moritz on the bus provided more stunning scenery. If you are in the area with a bit of free time this has to be a "must do" experience.

This trip takes about 13 hours Milan-Milan but it it is a must, because of the fabulous train ride threw beautiful snowed landscapes. At Tirano I skipped the lunch applying the free hours to visit the historical centre of the town where the Solis Palace is a hidden jewel. Saint Moritz was boring in May, but the bus ride to Milan took a scenic road on Chavenna region of Italy.

Our guide met us promptly and she was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The bus took us to Torino, where we saw the Cathedral. It has amazing examples of Baroque and Rococo Frescoes. We ate and then got on the train to take the Alps tour. It was very nice and to be in the middle/top of the Alps was Awesome. A well organized journey, with no problems. Well worth the cost. We would do it again.

Very well organized tour. Just can skip the stop at Tirano or shorten it. Should be given more time in St. Moritz.
