I absolutely enjoyed the morning practice. It was fascinating to get a glimpse into this sport and culture. I would advise on reading up a bit beforehand if you’re new to the sport as not much is being said while training is on. We had an opportunity for photos afterwards, which was great.

Easy to arrange.. good instructions of where to meet and how to get there. Once arrived very easy to view and see these great sumo wrestlers in training for 90 minutes and good photo opportunities. Expensive but well worth it and a must do. Enjoy it while you are there.

Highly recommend doing this if you can't see an actual tournament. It gives you a great insight into the training regime and the ethos. You have to be totally silent throughout the practice, so you are reliant on the tour guide passing around notes to explain what is going on. It lasted c. 90 minutes and I loved it!

I like it a lot! It's something you can see only in Japan. When I was there there were no competitions (they run only in certain period during the year) so We assisted to the training. I think this is good because you can feel the fatigue the fighters do in this sport! Be prepared to be in a very "basic" environment, they are very nice at the end you can also take a picture with these big fighters! It's an experience that I would recommend!

We really enjoyed the peek into the world of Sumo. Wow. Very entertaining and interesting. I recommend doing this.

We did a lot of great stuff in Japan but this was our favourite. Very brutal to watch (makes league and union look soft) but showed the dedication of these men.

A must do for anybody visiting Tokyo. How dedicated and fit these men are!! Our guide was great and explained a lot about the training etc. And the "photo Shoot" after was a lot of fun. Thank you

My boyfriend and I have followed sumo for two years. We saw a tournament in Tokyo last year. Getting to see practice at a sumo stable was icing on the cake. You are UP CLOSE and personal, watching the stable master instruct the rikishi. After practice, you can ask questions and take pictures with some of the rikishi. Very cool experience, even if you don't follow sumo.

This was high on our list of to do's especially since we were missing the tournament season. You think they are slow? Think again! The speed and agility that they display is amazing. We got to see them warm up, do various exercises and see some mock fights. What a wonderful way to spend the morning in Tokyo.

Such a great experience to see the sumo wrestlers up close.l Def worth doing. This was one of the highlights of the trips

The power, speed and intensity exhibited by these athletes was awe-inspiring. This is a must-see experience for anyone interested in sports and culture.

It may seem pricey for a 2 hour activity that doesn't include transportation to and from the site, but it was worth the money and our time. You can see a practice for free if you contact the sumo stable and wait in line early in the day, but it was worth paying the money to secure a spot without waiting in line. Its also hard to contact the sumo stables if you don't speak Japanese. We watched the sumo wrestlers warm up and practice for 2 hours. Even though there were no verbal explanations during the practice, you can experience the intensity of the sport and understand how the sport works. We also got to take pictures with the wrestlers after the practice was over. And we were able to ask the tour guides questions in English at the end of practice.

Incredible opportunity to watch members of a Sumo Stable close up. We took our 12 and 14 year old to watch how intensive the training is. The flexibility and fitness required by Sumo for training is incredible. Highly recommended, if you are able to sit quietly for around two and a half hours.

This was an amazing event that worked beautifully to ready us for the match in the evening. Don't go to the Sumo match without seeing a practice. Wow!!! I'm providing a five star because the event itself was wonderful. However, our guide never spoke to us. We arrived early and a kind gentleman let us inside the stable. It was cold. No one ever assisted in any manner.

My husband and I attended this tour during our trip in Japan. Thoroughly enjoyed this intimate and close up experience of sumo wrestling which is so important in the Japanese culture. Worth every penny we paid for this and could not have asked for anything more.

Wasn't sure what to expect but this was one of our tour highlights. These athletes are amazing to watch up close, you'll have a new appreciation for their sport and their conditioning. We even got to meet a few of them in person afterwards and take some great pictures. A wonderful experience!

Great. If you can’t make it to a match then this is well worth it. It’a much better than it looks!

Astonishing insight into the hard work and training that the Sumo wrestlers go through to get to the elite. This made me flinch each time they crashed into each other, the force was so great and sitting so close you practically felt it!!!

It was a great experience to be able to watch the morning sumo practice. Our guide Kota was very friendly, helpful and spoke fluent English. Kota translated questions for the sumo wrestlers at the end of practice and organised for the group to have a photo taken with sumo wrestlers.

This was one of our favorite activities in Japan. Highly recommend. You will be sitting on the floor and it smells a little but it is worth it!
