Pass By: Kasbah Museum, Medina Avenue Hassan II, Chefchaouen 91000 Morocco

The kasbah is a heavily restored walled fortress that now contains a lovely garden, a small ethnographic museum, and an even smaller art gallery. The ethnographic museum contains some fascinating views of old Chefchaouen, including the plaza and the kasbah; the gallery promotes the work of local artists. The views from the kasbah tower over the medina are a delight.

Stop At: Chefchaouen Medina, Chefchaouen Morocco

Chefchaouen, or Chaouen, is a city in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. It’s known for the striking, blue-washed buildings of its old town. Leather and weaving workshops line its steep cobbled lanes. In the shady main square of Place Outa el Hammam is the red-walled Kasbah, a 15th-century fortress and dungeon, and Chefchouen Ethnographic Museum. The octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque rises nearby.

It was an excellent experience and I really recommend to visit Chefchaouen. It's a beautiful city and the driver was very friendly and professional.

Love the blue town. It's so pretty and worth going there. If you don't go you will regret it. You don't get to see something like Chefchaoeun everyday! The guide was very helpful and polite. Very good service!

I highly recommend this tour! I traveled to Morocco with a group of 15 friends, for a friend's birthday celebration. We book ed this trip, hearing that Chefchaouen "the blue city" is a must place to visit. Before the trip i received a message on Whatsapp from the tour guide confirming the pick up location. Since we were a big group, we had the tour to ourselves. We were picked up in large van, which was very clean and comfortable. It had AC and nice seats. The driver was very nice and so was our tourguide, we were given information on how long the trip was (around 4 hours) and that we had one stop for rest. At the rest stop we were able to use the restroom and buy food/snacks. The tour guide was understanding that it took us longer, since there were other buses and tourist there, the lines were long. They were always careful to make sure everyone got back to the bus and was accounted for. Once we reached Chefchaouen we met another guide, who let us around the city so that we could see and get to know some key points there. After that we had free time to do our own thing. The city itself is beautiful! So many places to take pictures, lots of shops and restaurants.Overall we all love the tour and would highly recommend it. :)

Despite the fact that the pick up is disorganized, and you will definitely get a late start and stop several times for unknown reasons, Chefchaouen is extremely beautiful and a much-needed break from the hustle of Fez. I was tired of guided tours, so I opted out of that and wandered on my own- which I would recommend. The driver was late picking up at the designated spot, and wouldn't take us to our actual riads if they were near the medina,so be aware that you will be on your own in Fez after dark. All this hassle aside, Chefchaouen+surrounding countryside was one of my favorite parts of Morocco!

The trip is about 4 hrs drive, even though this sounds long it is totally worth it!! Our driver was nice and stopped a couple times for us to use the bathroom and take landscape pictures. Once in Chefchaouen we meet our tour guide which was kind and knowledgeable, and funny too. He took us inside the Médina and explained us everything. Then he even recommended us where to eat depending of what we wanted. Overall was an excellent choice. If you have the chance to do so I will highly recommended.

The drive across the countryside was beautiful and Chefchaouen is breathtaking. Fabulous trip.

This is another good place to visit on a day trip from Fez. Our pick up was on time and there were about eight other people on this trip with us. Our driver Ibrahim was friendly and did give some info on towns we passed by and arranged for a local tour guide to take us around town. Get ready for some walking and going up and down stairs in this town. I would recommend a tour guide because of the narrow lanes and alleys that you have to navigate. The guide charged us 20 Moroccon Dhirams per person, which is reasonable for a 3 hour tour. We did have to stop by one of the guide's recommended carpet store. But you can politely let the owner know you are not going to buy anything on this trip. It was cold day during our visit and rained later in the day. So its better to check the weather and prepare before you head out. We departed around 4 PM and were dropped off by our Raid around 8:30 PM. Overall, it was a good day trip and this Blue town reminded us about Santorini in Greece.

This option is for those looking for Value For Money. If you simply need an easy way to get to/from Chefchaouen from Fez -- knowing that you'll be in a small group and NOT private -- this is a great option. We were picked up at our riad around 8am, then waited for 5 others to join us in our van. It took around 3 hours to get to Chef and we were there a little before lunch. We were given about 4 hours, which is more than enough for those of you who really just want to see the place, explore a bit, enjoy a meal, and then leave. An ideal day trip with a kind and knowledgeable driver who is NOT a guide, but will happily talk to you and answer questions during the ride to/from the town. The company is also very flexible, so if you have any issues, be sure to contact them directly with your concerns and they will help you they were a great assistance to us when we had a small scheduling change request. General itinerary as follows: 8am pickup, 11am arrival preceded by a quick stop outside the town to get a full panorama picture, a few hours to wander the town, depart roughly 2:30-3pm, return back to Fez by 6pm or so depending on weather/traffic with another stop along the way for bathroom/coffee break.

The driver picked us up promptly at the arranged time. He made some stops along the way for photo opportunities, bathroom/coffee breaks, and let the passengers decide at what time we should return to Fes. It is a very long day, 3.5 hours each way, but the ability to relax and look at gorgeous scenery to/from Chefchaouen makes this trip well worth it.

Quick and super easy way to get to Chefchaouen. Long car ride but company was good, but if you get hungry be sure to bring a snack there is breaks to buy stuff on the way there. Chefchaouen was nicer then all the other main cities and the people were more lovely and no hassling.

More of a transport driver than a tour with a guide that explains the sights. The van was clean and safe. Going to Chef is a 4 hr drive 1 way w/ few photo stops along the way , and you'll have 4 hrs to spend in Chef on your own. If you stay in Medina, may be asked to meet at a main plaza for pickup

Chefchaouen was magnificent! It's a bit of a drive from Fez and our driver was just essentially a driver, not a guide, but once we got there, we really preferred to be able to walk around and explore the town on our own. I wish we could have actually spent two days out there hiking around the surrounding area as well. It's absolutely gorgeous.

Although the driver was not designated as our guide for the tour he was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the trip. He was very diligent for time and was informative for any questions that we had. The driver made one stop each way as per what the fellow travellers on the bus had requested which was great. When he dropped us off in Chefchaouen he also provided us information about where the best place is to start exploring. As Chefchaouen is quite small we found that the four hours of time that we were allotted was also a perfect amount for being able to see everything we wanted to. From being picked up and dropped off at the door of our Riad the tour was great from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this tour and tour company to anyone!

This was the best one day trip from Fes, and our guide and driver Abdul was the best guide I have ever met in Morocco! Abdul is very profesional, polite, gave us a lot of information about the country, helped in every situation during the trip. And of course I fell in love with Chefchaouen - the blue pearl of Morocco! Highly recommend this trip, especially with guide Abdul.

This was the PERFECT trip to Chefchaouen. Abdul, the driver and tour manager was brilliant. He created great atmosphere during our long journey, sharing with us all his knowledge and very funny stories, too. He chosen the most beautiful spots for perfect photo sessions for us. The beautiful and not expensive trip was never boring !!! We were never ever rushed around - we have had stops for the bathroom use and cigarettes breaks, whenever we wanted. VERY IMPORTANT THING: YOU WILL NOT NEED ANY TOUR GUIDE WHILE IN CHEFCHAOUEN !!! THIS IS A VERY SMALL TOWN, TINY COMMUNITY AND THE BEST IS TO SEE IT BY YOURSELF DURING 3 HOURS BREAK IN THE CITY. You will just walk around wherever and whenever you want and eat wherever you like. You do NOT need a tour-guide! And please remember to tip the driver after the tour, as he works very hard to make your day perfect. Abdul has made a perfect trip for all of us. MANY THANKS!!! I would go on this tour with Abdul again with the greatest pleasure.

I loved this tour. It is a long day but totally worth it if you don't have time to stay in Chefchaoen. The tour is transport only but the driver will act as a guide for a tiny price when split by 6 or 7. He knew the town from every aspect even knowing where to stand for the best photo points. The town itself is beautiful- a must see if in Fez or Tangiers.. Three and a half hours was quick but did not feel rushed. Time for lunch and a bit of time to explore after. For the price this tour was a bargain. Also the driver drives this road every second day. He was amazing, knew when to slow down, every bend, avoid a rough patch, when it was safe to pass. I felt totally at ease. Nasir thank you!

The trip was great! Plus, the price was much cheaper than any other company. Our driver, Hatem, was really great, as well. He was very friendly, and was able to answer any questions we had about the area. Highly recommended!!!

We had an amazing driver who was careful and even included a pitstop overlooking a lake outside of Fes that he had local knowledge of. Chefchaouen was absolutely amazing. Definitely worth the trip!

This was a great way to get to Chefchaouen. Comfortable car with A/C. Spent about 3 and 1/2 hours in Chefchaouen. Definitely could have stayed longer, but was able to shop and see the highlights and didn't feel rushed.
