Meet your guide in Dam Square to start your morning walking tour of Amsterdam. Begin with a stroll around the historical center, filled with inviting side streets, perfectly preserved 17th-century gabled houses and peaceful tree-lined canals filled with traditional Dutch houseboats.

View the Royal Palace, the famous Dutch East Indies company, the Begijnhof courtyard with its hidden church, the Amsterdam Museum and the old city gates. See the homes of famous historical figures as you walk by the Anne Frank House, Descartes' House and the Rembrandt House Museum.

Wander the alleys of the notorious Red Light District (de Wallen), walk down the busy shopping street of Kalverstraat, and pass by the many upscale art galleries, speciality shops and restaurants of the Jordaan district.

As you walk, your guide will bring to life more than 800 years of Amsterdam's history, arts, culture and architecture, from the city’s humble beginnings on the Amstel River to the glorious Golden Age to today. Your 3-hour tour concludes at Westerchurch, giving you the rest of the afternoon to continue exploring on your own.

The tour guide, Sean, was friendly, informative, and took time to understand the interests of his “audience”.

Natalie was a wonderful tour guide. We had a relatively small group and it was easy to hear everything and move along in a timely manner. Natalie had lots of interesting information to share. Tour was very interactive and it was a friendly group. I highly recommend this tour for a great introduction to Amsterdam. It was time well spent.

This is the first tour I booked through Viator and it was great. Chloe, our guide, provided great information about the City, history, buildings and people. After the tour we were on the lookout for furniture hooks, narrow buildings, crooked buildings and buildings that lean forward. Sadly, we also found "here lived stones" (Stolperstein) placed outside former homes of victims of the Holocaust. A poignant reminder of the not too distant past. She also gave us advice on finding some great food in Amsterdam. She was positive, enthusiastic and provided the information clearly to our group. Chloe's information provided a whole new dimension to our enjoyment of this great city.

My husband and I enjoyed our walking tour with Ollie. He was personable and informative. He did an excellent job of providing enough history so that we left with a good understanding of the city without overwhelming us with facts and dates, I would highly recommend this tour.

A perfect way to start our Amsterdam trip. The walking tour was fantastic. As was our guide, Sebastian.

Sebastian was a fantastic tour guide. He really knew his stuff! This was our second time in Amsterdam and he gave us information about the city that we hadn't heard before. Definitely a "thumbs up!"

Great experience! We learned a lot and laughed even more! Thanks Chloe! It was my first time in Amsterdam and this tour was a wonderful mix of history, learning about the Dutch psyche, and finding good places we want to go back to. Got us off to a good start on our very short time in Amsterdam!

Very interesting tour that was personalized for the group. Chloe is extremely knowledgeable and fun. Many fun facts about Amsterdam as well as the US.

We only had 3 nights in Amsterdam so a walking tour with a local like Sean was the way to go. Sean gave us a very good historical background on Amsterdam which helped us appreciate the city's development and contribution to the world. His overall knowledge and anecdotes made this tour insightful and enjoyable!

Our guide Natalie was great, actually an American grad student of art history. Full of all manner of interesting information. The walking pace was perfect with lots of stops for more details.

We spent a wonderful half-day strolling the streets of Amsterdam and really getting a great overview of the city and its history and culture. Highly recommend WOW tours--small group and great great guide!

The tour guide (Chloe) was super informative and fun -- you can really tell she loves the area and her job, her enthusiasm was infectious. :) Not only did she give a great tour, she also handed out her contact info so that if happened to have any questions after the tour, she'd be willing to help out! A+

Great overview of the city; perfect for the 1st morning after your flight or ship arrival. Our guide, Chloe, was outstanding-she talked with the group about expectations and interests and off we went! Great pace for the walk and talk (I had my senior Mom with me and she never felt rushed, hurried or that she could not keep up!) Chloe allowed time for Q and A along the way; pointed out many locations that would not be on "tourist lists" and had background information on many areas of the walk-from historical perspectives to impact on economics and Dutch culture. Very informative, respectful of neighborhoods and the history of the area. Chloe also had suggestions for lunch and snacks at the end of the tour; as well as directions to public transportation, other nearby interests etc. Perfect orientation and way to start our trip!

Natalie was an amazing tour guide. She was extremely informative and truly enjoys giving these tours.

My wife and I were really lucky have Natalie as a guide as Natalie is completing her Masters in History and Heritage Studies and thus, she is an expert in the history of Amsterdam. Her in-depth knowledge and passion in sharing about Amsterdam's history really made the tour come to live. Even though it was a 4 hour tour, it didn't feel long as we were really entertained by all the information and trivia provided by Natalie! Keep up the great work! 😊

This three-hour walking tour was well worth the cost. Our guide, originally from Wisconsin, spoke with knowledge and humour. We learned a lot about the past and present of this fascinating and beautiful city without the feeling of being overwhelmed with information.

Sean (and his dog Tolkien) were good, but several people were very late to the start of the tour, so we had about 30 minutes less time to tour. Sean is pleasant, very knowledgeable, and did his best to adapt to the remaining time frame. He easily answered any questions from the group as we did this casual walk through the city.

Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour and the second day in Amsterdam. Sean and his companion Tolkien were a joy to be with.

An excellent way to see old Amsterdam by foot. Guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Highly recommend.

We were greeted by Sean, who introduced himself as not having a fixed route or itinerary/script, but the insight we received from a local 'mosquito' was presented and delivered in a clearly knowledgeable manner, where our friendly guide was able to advise on all matters posed and took the tour around some areas and street that would have likely been bypassed. Having a 'friend' in the city (albeit for just a few hours) added to the enjoyment of the visit, and the tips, recommendations and casual advice proffered was most helpful in planning the rest of our stay. I know a lot more about the city, the people, culture and what Amsterdammers' have done for the world. Lots. You'll have to go there to find out for yourself. :-)

Enjoyed a really good walking tour of Amsterdam last Tuesday with Chloe from WOW tours. Gave us a real feel for the city with just the right amount of information. Avoiding the overload that can happen with some tour guides. Highly recommended as a good introduction to a visit to lovely Amsterdam.

Sean was a great guide; one of the best we’ve had. The three-hour tour was closer to four, yet we were enjoying it so much, we didn’t notice.
