I couldn’t be any more pleased! Mario our tour guide was awesome! From the time he picked us up to the time we were dropped off was all jokes mixed into history. He made us feel safe. The view from the mountain top was priceless! I would recommend everyone to do this adventure.

Super nice day and an amazing tour-guide! He was outstanding, showed El Valle very personal, adjusting to any needs we had, very proactive and most of all fun! :)

Panama City is interesting no doubt, but it can get monotonous. This tour out of the city allowed us to see more of what Panama had to offer.

This was easily our favorite day of our week-long vacation in Panama City and Cartagena, Columbia. We had a bit of a panic when we realized that we didn't know our pickup location, but we were able to call Mario on the phone and sort it out. Mario was a great guide. He is very friendly and speaks good English, but when I mentioned I was trying to learn Spanish, he challenged me to get better by speaking to me mostly in Spanish. The day starts with a guided hike led by a kid from the local community. We hiked up the hillside of the volcano, and came back down through some gorgeous rainforest and waterfalls. The hike is VERY hard- my husband and I are athletes and found it very difficult. It's not very far in terms of mileage, but the elevation change makes it very challenging. I would not recommend this for older folks, inexperienced hikers, or young kids. Our total hiking time was about an hour and a half. After the hike, we went to the natural pools, which was delightful! There were two pools and mud masks that we could put on in a smaller pool. One of the pools was very hot (just under hot-tub temp) and the other was around 85-90 degrees (F). This is definitely a kid-friendly place, but it wasn't overly busy and there weren't kids splashing everywhere. After the pool, we had lunch at a little roadside place that Mario recommended. It didn't look like much but the food was fabulous. Then, we walked across the street to the local market. There's no difference between this market and other trinket/tourist markets in Panama City, but the prices are slightly cheaper. Finally, we went to a local zoo, which was nice and beautiful, but wasn't really a make or break part of the day for me. I could see how this could be really fun for the little ones, if you're traveling with kids. The Zoo was owned and operated by local veterinarians, and had a lot of birds, a few monkeys, a tapir (the coolest animal we saw) and 2 cheetahs. I'm always a little iffy on the ethics of local zoos like this, but Mario assured me it was well-run and all the animals were there because they couldn't live in the wild. Everything about the experience matched the listing, and we definitely thought the cost was worth it. You're essentially paying for a private ride from Panama City and access to Mario's expertise, because you have to pay nominal entry fees at all stops on the trip. All in all, totally worth the cost because we never could have replicated this trip on our own.

If you want to venture out from central Panama City, this is a great means to do so. The tour has many of stops and things to do, even self exploration at the market square once you arrive at El Valle Anton. Just be sure to bring a sufficient amount of cash to cover entrance fees. Be sure to sample some of the fresh local fruit at the market. Mario provides a great tour and is quite flexible. I was one of 3 people in the group, and we decided that we wanted to have an extended amount of time at the market, so we didn't make it to the zoo.

Our trip to the Anton Valley offered a chance to see the real Panama, one that canal and beach visitors often miss. The sites, such as the waterfall El Chorro Macho, and the people, like those at the local farmers market, make this trip educational and deeply memorable. Our tour guide, Mario, offered us interesting and enlightening commentary as we drove. He explained what a true Panamanian carnival involved. His tour partner, Juliet, was especially helpful because my wife is visually impaired. Juliet helped guide her so she could enjoy the hike on the suspension bridges and elsewhere. Our last stop, the Nispero Zoo, was the most fulfilling because we were able to visit the Smithsonian's amphibian rescue center. The display of native frogs is impressive and not often seen by zoo visitors. If we had been forced to fly home that evening, our time in the Anton Valley would have made the trip worthwhile.

Our guide was extremely funny, knowledgeable and his English was perfect. We got a very comprehensive view of the El Valle area, he explained to us in detail the engineering of the canal, and stopped at a little beach on the way back. All in all was a fantastic experience.

Interesting excursion. We did everything that was described on the site. My husband and I enjoyed the thermal spa,the pool, the zoo and the museum. But we didn't get any drinks as it is advertise on the trip description.

The tour was nice and he explained a lot with the birds and monkeys. Got there on time and had water for us as it was a warm day.

Very nice place to visit and very good guide. We could personalize our tour and pass by the beach and eat there. The only part is because it was only the ride and the guide's information, it was too expensive.

Surprises: There's a 2 entry fee, a 5 entry fee and another 5 entry fee to get into the museum, the zoo and the waterfall. The museum was so-so the outside exhibits were better than the inside ones. The zoo houses animals in small cages and many of the animals are common in our US zoos so not much new to see there. It's hard to not feel badly for the animals. The waterfall setting was real nice. The private owner has done a lot of infrastructure work to make all the walkways and swimming area. You're in a quiet, peaceful, natural rain forest setting. Our local food restaurant was real good. The advertising photos implied that we would be in wide open spaces. Actually, we were in the rain forest or small town called El Valle all of the time.
