Welome to Costa Rica
Bienvenido a Costa Rica! Upon arrival to San Jose airport you will be transferred to San Jose where you will meet your tour leader and the rest of your group. After hotel check in this afternoon spend the rest of the day at leisure.

La Fortuna
San Jose - La Fortuna. This morning, we'll meet our guide who will take us out to explore the city. We'll visit some of the highlights of the city such as the Teatro Nacional and Museo Nacional. Your guide will explain the history of the city and share some interesting knowledge about life in Costa Rica.
This afternoon we depart San Jose and continue our journey to La Fortuna, a small village with fantastic views of the Arenal Volcano. Upon arrival, you'll have free time to explore La Fortuna at your own pace.

Arenal Volcano National Park
From the small village of La Fortuna we have an amazing view of the Arenal Volcano – one of the many active volcanoes in Costa Rica. As we set out on a three hour hike through the national park surrounding the volcano we will learn about interesting facts about the flora and fauna, discover hot springs and marvel in the beauty at our fingertips.
The afternoon is ours to explore as we see fit, discover other hiking trails or take a dip in the natural volcanic springs or even go looking for the Cerro Chato volcano.

Monteverde
La Fortuna - Monteverde. From La Fortuna we make our way to the north-west of Costa Rica to the Monteverde area, home to beautiful hilly landscapes and lush greenery all around. This afternoon you'll have free time to explore the quaint town of the same name.

El Trapiche excursion
This morning is free to independently explore or enjoy some of the many optional activities available, including visiting other reserves, the butterfly garden or even zip lining through the trees!
This afternoon we visit El Trapiche, a family run sugar cane mill, where we learn about the farming and processing of not only sugar, but chocolate, coffee and other Costa Rican crops. After sampling some local delicacies and indulging in local life we travel to our rustic hotel for the evening.

Manuel Antonio National Park
Monteverde – Quepos. We continue our journey to the lively west coast city of Quepos - gateway to the Manuel Antonio National Park which was established in 1972 and extends along the Pacific coast. This celebrated park is blessed with beautiful lagoons, palm fringed beaches, a vast array of animals and lush green forests. The rest of the day is free to explore at our own leisure.

San Jose City Tour
Quepos - San Jose. This morning we take a hike through the beautiful national park in hope of seeing the endangered squirrel and capuchin monkeys, sloths and coatis in their natural habitat or simply relax on one of the its four idyllic Pacific beaches, surrounded by lush jungle.
This afternoon we make our way back to to Costa Rica’s capital - San Jose. Upon arrival you'll have some free time before we head out for a farewell dinner this evening.

Our tour ends after breakfast and hotel check out today. We can arrange a departure transfer upon request or would be delighted to help you extend your stay in Costa Rica and book more nights for you if you’re still not quite ready to head home.

Hotel 1492, San Jose
Set in the downtown Barrio Escalante area of San Jose, Hotel 1492 is a small and cosy property. Offering just 12 guestrooms, the hotel has a very homely atmosphere and each of the rooms is equipped with a ceiling fan, security box and WiFi access. The local area not only offers a safe, residential vibe, but was also one of the first neighborhoods of the city dating back to the 1940s. You'll find buzzing restaurants, bars and shops to be just a short walk away.
