Arrival in Havana
Welcome to Cuba and the island capital of Havana. On arrival, you will be collected and transferred to our traditional Cuban guesthouse - the unique and local accommodation is one of the highlights of this tour! Take some time to freshen up and maybe head out to explore a little on your own.
You can explore one of the oldest cities in the Western Hemisphere. Havana was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982. Wander through the atmospheric streets of Central and Old Havana, admire the faded grandeur of its architecture, and sit along the iconic sea wall "El Malecón" to enjoy the sea breeze and chat with the warm, welcoming 'Habaneros'.
Please note: Our Cuba tours comply with all regulations for travellers from both the United States and other countries. However, it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct licenses and documentation to gain entry to Cuba. We suggest researching Cuban visa and border rules before booking your tour, as these rules are subject to change. We are unable to assist with visas, general licenses or other documentation.

Street Art & Creative Communities
Havana - Jaimanitas - Las Terrazas - Soroa. Today, we explore Cuba’s street art, starting at Callejon de Hammel in Havana. Here, artist Salvador Gonzáles Escalona has transformed a pedestrian alley with vibrant murals and scrap objects, many honouring Afro-Cuban deities. The area now hosts workshops for local children to learn painting.
Next, we visit Jaimanitas, a fishing village home to renowned artist Jose Fuster. His entire house and the surrounding neighborhood, now known as Fusterlandia, are transformed into vibrant mosaic art. Over 80 homes feature murals and domes reflecting the personalities of Fuster's neighbors. He has also created a chess park, theatre, and public pools. Fuster's art is now a celebrated part of Cuban culture, akin to Gaudí's works in Barcelona and Brancusi’s in Romania. We will then depart for Las Terrazas.
Around lunchtime, we will reach Las Terrazas, which was established as a forest restoration initiative in the 1960s and is now a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Here, you will have time to interact with locals and explore the public art, woodwork, and pottery studios.
Later, we will arrive in Soroa, a mountain resort town, where we will stay in the homes of the humble residents.
