Experience the daily life of a Parisian baker as you learn the secrets of perfecting the classic bread that's an integral part of French daily life: the baguette. There are several varieties of baguettes, and during your workshop you'll see just a few of the many different types and styles that exist; there's more to a baguette than meets the eye! The flour will fly while you watch your expert baker demonstrate the proper techniques, from mixing the dough to shaping, scouring and baking. Then you'll get to try it out these techniques yourself! The reward for your hard work comes as you bite into your freshly-baked baguette as soon as it's out of the oven. But that's not all; you'll also discover how the famous French croissant is made from start to finish. It may seem daunting, but don't worry; the baker will help you understand the process and the secrets behind making perfect croissants. You'll taste a fresh croissant as the class concludes. Over these two hours of fun and discovery, you'll learn all you need to know about baking, how the ingredients play an integral role in the final results, and just what makes French baking so special.

My husband and I really enjoyed this . It was one of our highlight of our time in Paris it was well translated in small group. Taste of croissants were amazing. Highly recommend

This is a must for anyone who loves the simple magic of a French baguette. What a treat to have behind-the-scenes look at just what makes that magic happen. It was less of a baking class and more of a shaping class but given the time it takes to prep that's understandable. Go hungry - there's lots of sampling and you walk away with your own baguette. Chef and interpreter were a delight!

Didier and Mariette (apologies if I have misspelt our lovely translators name) were fantastic. I learned so much and it was such an enjoyable experience. I would recommend this activity to anybody who loves to cook. I would have liked to have some recipes though :(

This was a defiantly highlight of my first trip to Paris. Chef Didier is funny and let us see his love for what he does. He has a great personality and made th class so enjoyable. The 2 plus hours went by fast. Our interpreter was really good and worked so well him. Highly recommend this it is a great way to spend your time, taste yummy bread and learn great techniques.

Amazing 2 hours with the master chef of the bakery! Through an English speaking interpreter, he shared his passion and methods of making bagettes and croissants. It was an incredible experience that we would highly recommend.

Chef Didier is wonderful! We enjoyed the class baking different types of baguettes, watching how to make croissants and puffed pastries. Overall a very enjoyable experience and the bread was fantastic!

This was one of the highlights of our visit in Paris. Oh what fun it was! Started off in the basement where we learned how to make baguettes which we also got to take with us! and then upstairs to try our hand at croissants. Highly recommend!

If you are looking to do something different, then this will be perfect. Get a great insight insight into the workings of real life French bakery. Eating what you make is also pretty cool.

Absolutely outstanding. I went with my 9 year old daughter and she was the only child at the workshop. Didier included her in everything and helped her out with the hands on work, he was really amazing and patient with her. I thoroughly enjoyed it myself and would totally recommend. The lovely translator did a fabulous job too. Thanks so much, one of our Paris highlights.

Oh what fun!!! Chef Didier could not have been more welcoming to us all. He had an interpreter on hand for those who didn't speak French, and won us all over with his outgoing and charming personality. His passion is absolutely contagious! There were a couple of children in the class and he arranged a special project for them, which was a really nice added extra. This is not a class where you are making the goods from start to finish, but there is a lot of hands-on experience involved. The class not only provides the how to but also explains the differences between various flours and what to look for. This was a fascinating class and Chef Didier's humour and passion made it top notch :

I bake at home and find the workshop helpful. Chef Didier was generously sharing tips and tricks. The workshop was almost 1 hour overtime - no complaints here as we got to learn more and eat yummy samples. Our translator Sara did a great job. The whole experience was good fun. And the recipes work!

I sent my daughters and their friend to this class. Didier was wonderful! He included the parents at the end and let us sample their work. They all had a fabulous time and learned so much about breadmaking and croissants.

We LOVED this workshop. It was one of our favorite parts of Paris. It was so fun to see behind the scenes of a French bakery and we got all of the recipes with recommendations for which American ingredients are best to use. Highly recommend!

I loved every minute of this experience! Since returning home my husband and I have made baguettes and are now working on making croissants. Meeting the baker was inspiring! His passion and enthusiasm were contagious. We enjoyed the finished bread, croissants, and pain de chocolate - Wow! Perfect.

I highly recommend this class, Chef Didier was very informative as well having some fun. He shows you how he bakes and then tells you how to do it at home. My husband and I had a great time learning how to bake and will be definately trying at home.

Incredibly fun and informative! We arrived and met with Mike, who was the tour company representative and translator for the tour. He was friendly, helpful and casual. We bonded right away. Chef Didier is an exceptional character he is perhaps one of the kindest people I have ever met, and his kindness, great humor and hospitality beam from his body language, smile and constant jokes. He was passionate about his craft to the bone, and discussed history, technique and even shared some baking secrets! I went on this tour with my wife during our honeymoon and we both fell even more in love with bread, if thats even possible. Hats off to Chef Didier for being a real master, teacher and gentleman. Highly recommended if you have some extra time in Paris for off-the-beaten path activities outside the obligatory touristy stuff. Do it!
