I attended with my husband, daughter and close friends. My husband is ex-RAN and our friend is ex-Army. We wanted to learn and pay our respects to all the Australians that had died on the Somme battlefields. We had a very remarkable day with our guide who was extremely informative. We attended not only Australian memorials but also English and Canadian. The John Monash Centre is truely worth a visit as were all the places we attended that day including the crater. It leaves you tired, weary and sad but we were all pleased we had learnt so much and paid our respects to not only the fallen Australians but the many other soldiers who had given their lives in battles sometimes even when they had no chance of survival,. Definitely recommend this tour, we did stop for a coffee in the morning and a baguette from a local patisserie for lunch which we ate in the a church garden. Can also do some memorabilia shopping.

We had a fantastic day touring the battlefields of the Somme and Villers-Bretoneux. Our tour guide Matt was full of knowledge and gave us a great insight into the area and history of the battles as well as events leading up to WW1. A tour that will live in our memories.

Loved this tour. Our tour guide was excellent, went out of his way to assist people with us to find their Great Uncles grave and was very informative. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely excellent. If you are interested in WW1 battles, it would be hard not to like this. The many cemeteries make for a moving experience. I REALLY enjoyed this, Saw a lot, including the place where the Red Baron crashed to his death. Guide knew his stuff. Tipped him more than any guide I had before. Unlike American graves, the British Commonwealth allowed relatives to provide epitaphs to be written by relatives. Check out this one,. Could speak for everyone killed in that war, although this particular soldier died on the day that the German general Ludendorff described as the Black Day for the German army, so in that respect he didn't die, as so many did in that war, in vain.

Sorry I thought I had rated this trip. This was our holiday last year it was a wonderful day - I would strongly recommend if you only have a day to spend this trip covers a lot. It was amazing.

The day was very interesting and the guide very knowledgeable. The day was tailored to the needs of the people attending with enough time spent at the memorial sites. It was a little cramped taking 8 in the mini van but definitely worth it.

Loved our guide she was very professional on time and ready for any question you can fire, It is a early start to get out of Paris we checked out our meeting point and confirmed the day,a day before just to be sure you don't want to be late and miss this, our guide was so thorough and we really didn't have any questions she just covered everything, The staff at the Paris tourist office helped make the confirming phone call the day before, and all went very exactly like we were thinking it would go. Will use again Viator and recommend no problem. thanks for a great day.

Excellent guide who went out of his way to find relatives of a fellow passenger. Informative, over whelming at times but well worth doing. Highly recommended.

Extremely well organised. Small vehicle with only two other couples on the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took us to places that would interest all of us according to our nationality. The Australian National Memorial and Villers-Bretonneux were very special places and quite emotional to visit. We found that we didn't have enough time to explore the area so would recommend to others either a two day tour or an overnight stay in one of the lovely villages.

A full day of sights that are an awesome experience as an Australian. To walk the same ground as those blokes from 100 years ago, many of whom did not come home as we did, was very emotional and inspiring. Villers-Bretonneux, Poziers, Amiens. Names that are very familiar but the big surprise was the time spent reading the panels telling the story of Le Hamel, site of Sir John Monash's epic victory was worth the trip in itself. Also it was so much easier as a passenger returning to Paris in their nightmare traffic.

One of the best days of our holiday, the guide Nicola was very passionate and informative about the history of the battle, and there was not much she didn't know. There were 6 on tour and all thoroughly enjoyed it thank you Nicola

Regis is an amazing guide. The day we visited, there was a South African couple on our tour of mostly Australians. Regis adapted the day cutting 10 minutes or so for free time from a few of the locations so that we could visit the only South African memorial site. This was special for everyone, as it truly is a beautiful memorial, with a museum attached. Visiting the various sites was a very moving experience, enhanced by the expert knowledge provided by Regis. I could not recommend this tour enough.

For us the Australian flavour was poignant and relevant. The Australian memorial, Villers Bretonneux and the lunch options were excellent. If you wish to learn in a practical and informative fashion about the Commonwealth involvement in the battle of the Somme and WW1 this tour is a must. The French people have such respect for the commitment shown by the allies in defending their country they have never forgotten, nor will they ever forget. These battles and the loss of young lives had such an impact on Australian history it should be a compulsory learning experience for all Australians and Commonwealth citizens. The bus trip wasn't onerous and the guides were informative and knowledgeable. They were flexible enough to adjust their schedule to suit the needs of the group. A great tour.

Nikolai was so informative. The tour was more than I expected.

This was a wonderful tour, made even better by the in-depth information given by our guide Regis. This man has a passion for this period in history and he very much makes every site visited come alive. Each place we arrived at held much significance for Australians. Visiting the War Cemetery was a moving experience - such a dreadful loss of young lives. I would encourage every person, regardless of nationality, to take the time to do this tour.

This was a marvellous experience and a must for all Australians visiting Paris to get an appreciation of what our soldiers went through during the Great War. Our driver was excellent and had so much knowledge of the events and the areas involved. A very somber trip on our way home as we all reflected on the days trip.
