“
We walked through the General Market, vegetable and fruit market then roamed the surrounding neighborhood tasting the wares of street vendors, spice shops, olive oil and cheese shops, sweet and savory pies, dried meats and the best doughnuts ever! Finally we topped it off with a traditional lunch.
I know there are a lot of other food tours in Athens. What made this one special and "over the top" was our guide Georgia Kalimeri. She is not only very knowledgeable but presents each stop with passion and flare!”

Georgia who lead our tour was a wonderfully knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, charming, and dare I say theatrical host. We had such a fabulous time that I would advice anyone coming to Athens to seek out this tour and specifically Georgia to lead it!!! The food experience was also great.”

“
We enjoyed this tour immensely! We learned so much about the food and the culture through our guide Lucy. The food was fun, interesting, and tasty. Lucy was very knowledgeable, energetic, and extremely helpful. This is a MUST DO for anyone visiting Athens. You will learn so much more doing this tour than going off on your own.”

“
A tour of Athens always, as it should, involves relics and architecture such as the Parthenon. This food tour, however, was most enlightening and educational. While walking around the city, the focus was Greek food. This small group, with an excellent guide, made frequent stops over 3.5 hours to sample various Greek specialties. It is a slow paced tour through the Athens marketplace with about 8 stops for tastings and ends with a wonderful souvlaki. By the time we reached the lst stop, I was stuffed. Don't make the mistake I did and have breakfast before the tour.”

“
The food tour was excellent and we had the pleasure of having Georgia as our guide. She did an excellent job taking in detail about the sites, about the culture and the foods we were going to try and eat with her. I would highly recommend her, one of the best guides I've seen and she talked in a very clear, loud and concise manner. She was very careful to make sure everyone in the group was attended to and safe. Great variety of foods we tried, we could have more if we wanted to at the places if desired as well. Athens is a wonderful place, great food and people. Enjoyed trying olives, and cheese, breads, meats.. etc. We visited in the end of May so the weather was perfect, if you do this tour during the summer be prepared for the heat. Really fantastic tour!”

Athens can be a bit difficult to navigate/find good places to eat on your own, and this food tour helped set the tone for the rest of our vacation! The tour guide (Lucy I think) was absolutely amazing and took us to so many hidden gems in the city! Come hungry!! We had great time learning about the city and eating amazing food- I loved every minute of it.”

We really loved this tour, our guide, Mariana (sorry if mispelling) gave us a lot of historical and local information. A beautiful and tasteful experience, in never seen places in the center of Athens. I recommend also for families with teenagers. We tasted a lot of food and drinks and saw nice places.”

“
We really enjoyed our Athens food tour with Georgia. The meeting place was easy to find and within walking distance of our hotel. Our group of 8 want to a variety of places from a food cart to a sit down taverna, with a market, spice shop, pie shop, and deli in between. The food was varied, plentiful, and delicious. Best of all, was our guide, Georgia, who was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and personable. I highly recommend this tour.”

“
Taking a food tour is one of the best ways to experience a city culture and feel the vibes. Lucy combined history with some traditional foods to help one understand the role of food in their every day life. We sampled at least 9 different foods from specialty shops to restaurants. I enjoyed the spice and herb shop and the outdoor market—what a fest for the eyes!! Thanks for sharing your love of Greek food and life. Shirley and Lea”

Great tour. Annalise was one of the best tour guide I have ever encountered. The foods we tasted were explained to us as to preparation and culture influence and meaning. It was fun and the food items and walking through the markets made for great photos and people watching! Highly recommend. A high light of my Athens visit.”

“
What a fun tour. Our guide gave us a walk through a typical Greek eating habits, whether a day of work or celebration, and where they buy their food at a corner kiosk, or at the city market. We walked through the fish, meat, produce, and anything else markets. We ate samples at kiosks and restaurants. This tour was worth the cost. You learn lots and eat lots.”

Excellent tour! Our guide - Anais was so friendly, knowledgeable and clearly a foodie herself! We checked out some hidden places and had tastings of over 10-12 items. The walk through the small spice stores, bustling fish market and the general relaxed pace of the tour was the highlight. I would highly recommend this tour to any foodie wanting to try some authentic local cuisine!!”
