Day 1


Your first night at Copenhagen airport is included. Please make your way to the Clarion Airport Hotel which is a short walk from the terminal 2 building.

Day 2

Welcome to Greenland

Copenhagen - Ilulissat. This morning after hotel check out we take a morning flight from Copenhagen to Kangerlussuaq before connecting on to Ilulissat in Western Greenland. Upon arrival in Ilulissat you'll be met and transferred to the Hotel Arctic . Following a welcome meeting with our guide we embark on a city walk allowing us to get aquainted with the town and take our first glimpses of the beautiful scenery. Later this evening we enjoy a delicious dinner at the onsite hotel restaurant Ulo.

After dinner we embark on a midnight cruise to the ice fjord. The midnight sun and warm red colours reflect on the gigantic icebergs and is an amazing sight! We'll cruise between the icebergs and enjoy a late drink on the "real rocks". This tour is guided and includes light refreshments.

Day 3


After breakfast at the hotel the remainder of the day is at leisure. There a whole host of optional excursions that can be booked locally with your helpful tour leader who will be on hand to help advise what you can do.

Day 6

Fly to Kangerlussuaq

Ilulissat - Kangerlussuaq. This morning we have a farewell breakfast on our last morning at the Hotel Arctic with our guide. We'll be transferred to the airport in Ilulissat for our flight to Kangerlussuaq before check in at the hotel in Kangerlussuaq. This afternoon we attend an information meeting with our local representative, who will tell us about the plethora of optional activities available during our stay.

Day 7


After breakfast we head out on a guided tour by 4x4 vehicle into the Arctic desert. We'll travel along old glacier valleys, over small mountains directly on to the famous inland ice cap. We'll drive on narrow mountain tracks and en route we'll make several photo stops and walk to the beautiful viewpoints that overlook this fantastic Arctic landscape.

The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this amazing part of the world.

Day 8


Kangerlussuaq - Copenhagen. Today we say farewell to Greenland as we board our flight back to Copenhagen. Flight times vary depending on which day you are travelling so please contact us before booking your onward flights from Copenhagen.

Just a short walk across the covered walkway from the main terminal and 15 minutes' metro from the city centre, the Clarion Copenhagen Airport is a modern hotel with excellent facilities. Guest rooms are a decent size and come with floor to ceiling windows and importantly sound proofing - so the planes won't disturb you. The breakfast buffet is extensive and there is an onsite spa for guests to enjoy as well as Wi-Fi (charges apply).

The world's most northerly 4 star hotel, the Hotel Arctic sits right on the edge of the ice fjord - recently made a UNESCO world heritage site. Guest rooms cosy with comfortable beds, hardwood flooring and minimalist bathrooms with under floor heating. Original works by the Greenlandic artist Buuti Pedersen decorate the rooms. Complimentary wi-fi is available and the on site Ulo restaurant where guests can enjoy delicious meals with one of the most spectacular views in the world - enjoy dinner whilst watching the icebergs drift around the fjord.

The former barracks of the Sondrestrom US Air Base, Hotel Kangerlussuaq sits within the airport at Kangerlussuaq. Guest rooms are slightly dated but all come with private facilities and modern conveniences. Wi-fi is available and the hotel also boasts fantastic customer service as well as the most visited cafe in Greenland - the Green Bar/Naapifik serving up a delicious array of Greenlandic cuisine. Be sure to look out for the herds of musk ox and reindeer that roam the local area.
