Located in Budapest’s City Park, the Széchenyi Baths were built in 1913 and completed in 1927. Locals and visitors alike come to enjoy the city’s largest and warmest thermal spa, with a plethora of indoor and outdoor pools, including spring-fed baths. Begin your day by skipping the long lines of the main entrance and heading to the rear, where an English-speaking host greets you. You’re led to your own changing cabin so you can prepare for a full day of relaxation. Under the stunning interior domes, make your way from pools to saunas and steam rooms at your own pace. The temperature varies for each of the 18 pools, with the large outdoor swimming pool at a temperature of 84 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius) or the steaming pool at 106 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius), a fine place to sit back and treat your muscles. Don’t worry about the time while you pool hop; this ticket provides full-day access. If you’re in the mood to top off the day with a little more luxury, upgrade to include a relaxing massage, which includes a spa gift bag, or a City Park Segway tour. It was drizzling and cold when we arrived but the outside pool was so warm 34degrees!!! We booked cabins before we left the UK to speed up entry. Lockers are small and changing is public so a cabin is nicer. Several pools inside and out. We ended up doing aquarobics class with locals in one. NOTE; if you go in the sulphur pool (smelly) with silver jewellery on it will turn black!!!Soak in bicarb, boiling water in tin foil to restore it. Take your own towel and flip-flops. 1.5 hours and thoroughly rejuvenated !!! Beautiful buildings too.

Even in January the spa was very busy and so getting in straight away and having a really secure changing cabin that is on a part of the building that opens straight on to the open air section is well worth doing. The lockers area was just like a soggy swimming baths changing area and the cabins were so much more comfortable. Save time and money and take your own towel, flip flops and swim wear. We managed to squeeze it in our cabin bags as we didn't take a large case and glad we did. It is a really unique experience - 38 degree water and 0 degrees air temp :). The range of indoor pools was good too. We went in at 4pm in daylight stayed just about 3 hours ending with an outside dip in the great lighting and the steam. You can stay a lot longer but that was fine for us. The Szichenyi Furdo on the M1 (Yellow) line Metro and is literally outside the baths and so it is very easy to get to.

Such a lovely place, I went early to avoid the crowds. The spa package was good, having my own private cabin to change in was brilliant. The massage was excellent, I wish it had been longer. Definitely recommend it.

We were very lucky to have a beautiful, warm sunny day in Budapest. We tried lots of the indoor pools which were great, the only difference being the water temperature. Outdoor pools were lovely. Relaxing in the sun soaking up the lovely warm water.

Enjoyed the bathing experience but like anything you need to get there early to avoid the queues. Did not go for the massage or food and drink so cannot comment on that

Beautiful setting/architecture, plenty of pools with varying temperatures (both indoors and outdoors), good, clean, hygienic facilities, had a great massage, one can just spend the whole day and not see the time go by...either you can take your towels or can rent them over there...must see place...highly recommended.

Loved it. I suggest visitors bring their own towels. It can be rented at the Spa but the quality of the towel and the price are not worth it.

Had a great time here. Didn't stay in too long as it was freezing out. The waters were very warm - just the run from the changing cabins was cold. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not too crowded. The cabins are a definite. It was very clean and tidy throughout. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful place to experience part of Hungary's history. Building was a short walk from a Hop on - Hop off bus stop which worked out great! Be sure to go inside the buildings where the actual heated pools are!
