Victoria Falls
Saturday. Welcome to Victoria Falls, one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world! Included transfer to our campsite. On day 1 there is a pre-departure meeting at 17:00hrs.
Overnight: Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls
Today is spent relaxing or participating in a myriad of optional excursions. Named after the famous World Heritage site and Water Falls, the town of Victoria Falls is situated on the Zambezi River and surrounded by the Victoria Falls National Park. Our campsite is conveniently situated in the centre of town, and within walking distance of the adventure booking agents, restaurants and shops. A 20 minute walk down the main road takes you to the entry point to view the falls, which are situated between Zimbabwe and Zambia. Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), was named by David Livingstone on his explorations, and is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. At 1700 m wide and around 100 m high, this is the world's largest sheet of falling water and a memorable sight on any African Safari!
Our exciting range of optional excursions include horseback safaris, a visit to the crocodile ranch, boat cruises and golf at The Elephant Hills Resort. Adrenalin junkies can bungee from the Victoria Falls Bridge connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia or abseil down the Batoka Gorge - neither activity is for the faint hearted! All year round, flights in fixed wing, micro light and ultra light aircraft or helicopters provide an aerial perspective over this magnificent World Heritage Site. White water rafting on the Zambezi is also world class.
Overnight: Victoria Falls
Chobe River
Victoria Falls - Chobe (Botswana). This morning we leave Victoria Falls and cross the border into Botswana, and head to Kasane on the banks of the Chobe River. Chobe is one of Botswana’s premier game parks, renowned for the large herds of elephant around the river. This afternoon enjoy an included boat cruise along the river spotting the elephants and hippos.
Overnight: Kasane | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Nata Region
Kasane - Nata Region. We leave this beautiful part of Botswana behind us this morning as we depart to the lush campsite called Elephant Sands. The drive will take you through a very unpopulated landscape where the donkeys roam freely. Once we have arrived at our campsite you will have the option of partaking in a game drive or a bushwalk. Your crew will provide you with more information.
Overnight: Nata Region | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Okavango Delta
Nata Region - Maun - Okavango Delta. Maun is the starting point for the trip into the Delta and it is from here that we can set off to explore the Okavango Delta. Tonight we prepare our provisions and packs for our overnight excursion. We suggest bringing along a smaller day pack on your trip which can be used to pack the supplies needed for this short excursion. Your trip leader will brief you fully on what is needed, and what to expect prior to your trip into the Delta.
On day 6 we take an overnight excursion into the Delta. Here we take an included overnight excursion into the Delta. After an early rise, we pack our expedition vehicle and from Maun we drive north for a couple of hours to reach the mokoro poler’s station. The Delta region is studded with many local villages where many families live in a traditional way. Some of the villages are very remote and can only be reached by the traditional mode of transport – the Mokoro. Mokoros are dugout canoes manoeuvred through the waterways by local guides who “pole” them through the reeds. At the Mokoro station, we meet our ‘Polers’ and pack our supplies before heading out into the waterways. After a couple of hours along the waterways, we arrive at our campsite situated in the heart of the Okavango.
Overnight: Maun (1) Okavango Delta (1) | Breakfast x 2, Lunch x 2, Dinner x 2
Maun
Okavango Delta - Maun. This morning we pack up and set off back to Maun. After our Mokoro ride and vehicle transfer, we arrive back in the afternoon and have the chance to complete our picture of the Okavango Delta by taking an optional scenic flight over the Delta (dependent on weather conditions & availability).
Overnight: Maun | Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Blyde River Canyon
Maun - Palapye - Polokwane. Heading out early, we have a fairly long (450kms) drive today to the small town of Palapye, situated about halfway between Francistown and Gaborone. This popular ‘stopover’ town for those en route to South Africa, is well known for the Morupule Colliery coal mines which supplies Morupule Power Station, Botswana’s principal domestic source of electricity.
The following morning we cross into South Africa and stop to sightsee at the impressive Blyde River Canyon. Named for the Blyde River that runs through it, the canyon is 26km long, and averages 800m deep and forms the northern edge of the impressive Drakensberg Mountain Range. It is classified as a ‘green canyon’ due to the uncommon occurrence of vegetation that lines it (uncommon as most canyons are in desert areas and are fairly barren). The main viewpoints along the canyon are the 3 Rondavels, named for the shape of the traditional huts or houses the indigenous people of the area used to live in; and Gods Window that affords a breathtaking view across the canyon and surrounding area.
Overnight: Polokkwane (1) Blydepoort (1) | Breakfast x 2, Lunch x 2, Dinner x 2
Kruger National Park
Polokwane - Nkambeni Camp. Heading through the breathtaking Panorama Route, we stop off at various viewpoints today including scenic God’s Window. We pass through the small town of Graskop, and head toward the Kruger National Park and our campsite on the border of the park. Situated just 10km from Kruger’s Phabeni Gate, the camp is home to Giraffe, Zebra and Hippo to name but a few. After settling in to our camp, we embark on a nighttime game drive.
The following day we visit the amazing Kruger National Park in search of some of the 146 mammals, 500 bird, 114 reptile, 33 amphibian & 49 fish species that make this park their home. We travel in our truck along the main game viewing routes within the park and stop off at some of the camps along the way.

Pretty was an amazing trip leader. She was very helpful and very informative. The tour was busy but AWESOME. Many safaris both on foot and by jeep that allowed us to see just about every animal in Africa. A wonderful once in a lifetime experience.”

We loved the tour, unfortunately were unaware of the amount of bus travel but that is to be expected, and have to say sleeping on mats was a little uncomfortable for our old bodies, but we managed and did upgrade once but still had the opportunity to upgrade at other camps. The camps were all good, although we did run out of hot water on occasion. Any discomforts could be expected as we were camping. I did realise on our return that we only had one opportunity to shop for souvenirs apart from the airport shops, a little more time would have been fabulous. The food was great and plentiful, the staff were fabulous and more than helpful with putting and taking off the clips to the tent, very hard to do.
The tour was great, we really had no idea or knowledge of what to expect but was amazing to see these magnificent wild animals roam where they chose, it was fabulous and would have no hesitation in recommending this tour or your company again. ”

The tour was amazing, the group I was with was great and everyone got along. ”

Just returned from a fabulous trip from Vic Falls to Johannesburg. Overall tour was great even putting up & down the tents everyday. Thank you to Thembe the tour guide, for making it a memorable trip to Africa and sharing your love of your country. Frans the driver was great making sure we all arrived safely to our destinations and sharing his love of Africa with us. Martins kitchen kept us fed daily and we had great food every day. Overall we had a great time. Thank you.”

Fantastic trip, ideal way to see so much in just 12 days. Tour guide, driver and chef were brilliant. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about every place we visited and advised us on the best places to visit. Our driver was great, always got us there safely and was a pleasure to chat to. Our chef was incredible! As this was a budget camping trip we didn't expect the standard of food we received. It was much more than we expected, very good quality, couldn't have asked for better.
Great trip all in all, would recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure!”

Had A Great time. Marika, Franz, and Clive were fun, knowledgeable, and very competent. Will definitely go on another trip. ”

Very organised and egfficient. Excellent local knowledge throughout the tour and good tips for dining, shopping, drinking and banking facilities at each stop ”

The tour was incredible! Everything from the food to the accommodations and tours were amazing! The camping sites were all clean and safe and the upgrades were great value for money. The cook made delicious meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was also fun helping with the meal prep/cleaning and getting to know the group more. The organized tours were well planned and the optional excursions were great as well. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and driver did a great job getting us to each destination in a safely and timely manner. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone and can't wait to go on another On The Go tour! ”

Hello Charlie,
Just back from our 12 day Falls to Jo'burg trip and we had a fabulous time! Thoroughly enjoyed the amazing experiences at Vic Falls, Blyde River Canyon, Otavango Delta and Kruger Park. We did have two upgrades and found the accommodation a well-deserved treat and complete luxury after the normal tents.
Thanks to reading and re-reading your extensive trip notes, advice and guidance beforehand we were well prepared and knew exactly what to expect - unlike others who either didn't have the same tips from their companies or who didn't bother to read the information.
We even became quite accomplished at putting tents up and dismantling them (even in the rain)! Will, the main tour guide, and Simon helping, were extremely helpful, patient and completely approachable at all times which considering our large group comprising people with ages from 20-82 yrs was no mean feat.
Mama Florence the cook and Frans the driver were just as friendly and did an excellent job of feeding us delicious meals and ensuring we arrived safely and in one piece, both with great humour. We never saw any one of the crew in a bad mood or impatient with anyone - we were treated with courtesy throughout and they were full of information about Africa.
Many thanks, we will book again! ”
The tour was great, although due to the travel distance tiring. The excursions were fantastic. Our guide Will was super, enthusiastic, we learned a lot about Africa. The whole crew was nice, so we enjoyed the tour very much.”
