Stop At: Stirling Castle, Castle Esplanade Upper Castle Hill, Old Town, Stirling FK8 1EJ Scotland

your day begins with your Greenock shore excursion heading through to ‘Braveheart’ country, to visit Stirlingshire and Stirling Castle, arguably one of Scotland’s most important fortresses. Below the Castle, the Old Town of Stirling is still protected by its original walls, built in the 16th Century to protect Mary, Queen of Scots from Henry VIII. Here we will stop to enjoy time to tour the castle, learn all about the exploits of Robert the Bruce and the infamous Scottish Queen, and enjoy refreshments at the castle’s charming café.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Aberfoyle VisitScotland iCentre, Main Street Trossachs Discovery Centre, Aberfoyle, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park FK8 3UQ Scotland

In the heart of the Trossachs your shore excursion will make a stop at Kilmahog to maybe see some highland cattle up close. We then journey to the village of Aberfoyle located just below the Highland faultline, to enjoy a bite to eat and time to explore.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Loch Lomond, Stirling Scotland

From Aberfoyle, we travel to our final stop at the conservation village of Luss, located on the ‘bonnie, bonnie banks’ of Loch Lomond, one of the most breathtaking and largest lochs in Scotland. Here we have time to stroll around the beautiful village and observe the many islands, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

The continual Scottish rain and wind did not dampen the beauty of the Scottish countryside and Stirling Castle, and the enthusiasm of our driver-guide, who was generous in sharing his knowledge of Scottish history and geography.

This was a fabulous tour and our first stop in scenic Scotland. The scenery to each site was stunning and the information and commentary provided by our guide Stephen was exceptional. Stirling Castle is well worth a visit and was one of our favourite stops during our 2 week holidays. We had high expectations of Scotland and this tour and our friendly knowledgeable guide helped to exceed our expectations.

Excellent value - Guide and Driver - pleasant, informative, and very entertaining. Stirling Castle should not be missed. Coach has internet access. Loch Lomond a disappointment - not much to see in the time allotted, and very dependent on the weather.

A wonderful shore excursion! .Great scenery and stops for viewing. Stirling Castle was very interesting.

This was our first visit to the area, so we were looking for a guide who was knowledgeable and thorough - and enjoyable. Eric was all of those things and more!! We saw everything we had hoped to see and more, including shaggy cows and Clydesdale horses in the fields. At the castle we learned so much about Scottish history; and we experienced all the beauty of the area on our drive through the national park and at the lake. I cannot rate this trip too highly!!

Guide Eric was ready for us when our cruise ship docked. The itinerary was excellent - good to explore Stirling Castle, sample some single malt at a distillery and see the beauty of the area. Eric provided excellent commentary with a good amount of Scottish humor.

Wonderful driver and guide. We came looking for family history and he had great knowledge of the area to help us. Long day but worth it.

This whole trip has been an experience in history. This tour was no exception. Loch Lomond was a very peaceful place where one can understand why the locals are so in love with it. Far more than Loch Ness. The Trossachs reminded me of my home in California. But Stirling Castle was special. The history of modern civilization is found here.

Loved this tour from the pier in Leith. An excellent small group where we saw some amazing countryside and Stirling Castle. The setting of Stirling was particularly interesting after having watched Braveheart again.

This was amazing. Such a great value especially compared to the shore excursions offered by the ship. They were there waiting right outside the port. Could not have been easier and got us back to the ship on time. I purchased the castle tickets ahead of time. Worth while visit. Loch Lomond is a surprise, sweet walkable villiage. Fabulous day and scenery.

This is one of the best shore excursions we did on our cruise. You will see and learn so much. Our guide was excellent, the coach clean, and the driver kept us safe. It is a long day, but you will cover so much and learn so much about the area. I highly recommend this tour. The coach was at the port ready and waiting when we disembarked. We were back in plenty of time. So no worries. Just enjoy!

Great tour! To get the best of your tour of fascinating Stirling Castle find the meeting point for a very informative free half tour of the major buildings in Stirling Caste. The scenery through The Trossachs, with stops at particularly beautiful locations, and on to Loch Lomond was gorgeous. Be sure to walk the quaint town of Loch Lomond. I also enjoyed our stop at the Scottish Wool Centre for a snack as we were able to catch an informative talk about the various types of sheep that were on display.

Another great shore excursion with port pick up through Viator. Much better price than similar tour arranged through cruise ship. This was a full day tour however, found it quite relaxing. Castle is quite crowded but that is to be expected for the time of year. Cost of admission to castle itself was optional for about 14 pounds each. Chose to skip it and walk about town instead which proved very enjoyable. Nice stop in Aberfoyle for lunch and shopping if you wished at the Scottish Woolen store. Loch Lomond and The Trossachs proved to be a very relaxing and easy walking scenic stop.
