The University of Oxford is a collegiate research university in Oxford, England. There is evidence of teaching as early as 1096,[2] making it the oldest university in the English-speaking world and the world's second-oldest university in continuous operation.[2][12] It grew rapidly from 1167 when Henry II banned English students from attending the University of Paris.[2] After disputes between students and Oxford townsfolk in 1209, some academics fled north-east to Cambridge where they established what became the University of Cambridge.[13] The two 'ancient universities' are frequently jointly called 'Oxbridge'. The history and influence of the University of Oxford has made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world.

“
I can't remember the name of our tour guide .. I think it was Mark. Our tour guide was extremely friendly, polite, and quite humorous. I really enjoyed our trip! This particular trip did not include tickets to Warwick Castle, or Shakespeare's birthplace. There is another tour that you can book that includes admission to both places, or you can buy tickets on board. Having seen enough castles and famous people's houses, we opted not to purchase admission to either site. We had an excellent time looking at the exterior of the sites and enjoyed our time walking around and exploring the cities surrounding the sites instead.”

Exceeded our expectations and the tour guide did an excellent job.
One improvement could be to provide more details of the meetup point at the coach station.”

“
This tour was a fantastic way to visit parts of England outside of the big city of London. Both Stratford-Upon-Avon and Cotswolds were lovely, picturesque towns. I loved the flexibility that this tour provided me with. Although I opted to not pay for entrance into Warwick Castle and Shakespare's home in Stratford-Upon-Avon, I was able to explore the lovely towns and got do some shopping and eating. Oxford was a sight for the eyes. I will have to return to Oxford some day to explore more of the beautiful city as I did not get to see it all, but I got a little shopping done. A big thanks to our wonderful driver, Tony, and our entertaining and superb tour guide, Reese. If you have a full day to spare, are on a budget, and like the option of customizing your day tour, I highly recommend this tour.”

“
What a nice day. The meeting place at Victoria bus station was crowded and a bit confusing. There seemed to be some mix-ups with a couple of people who were in the wrong place. However, once we got on the bus everything was orderly and we had a great tour. Beautiful scenery and I always wanted to visit Oxford and now I have!”

“
A most wonderful tour. The visits and the sights were just wonderful. The tour guide was excellent! Spoke very clearly and I was able to understand his narration. Reese was very thorough, knowledgeable and well versed in verses as they related to Shakespeare. The driver was also excellent.”

“
Wawrick castle was massive with a dungeon which we didnt have time to see..part of the castle is a guided tour then you go on your own, my son loved the armor room.....we had trouble with there being no lifts to i took him out of his chair carried it up the stairs then carried him.... so he got to see all the down stairs rooms. upstairs the rooms were all set with dummies in them to see the servants working in the late 1800's way of life.
Oxford was nice to see the uni and another part where Harry Potter was filmed and also where CS Lewis and Tolkin used to go for drinks to discuss their books .
a nice drive through the cotswolds............ Startford-upon-Avon was a lovely little town...Shakespears house was much bigger than i expected...we had lunch at this stop...freshly baked pastie...our guide was very informative .”

“
Deborah was a knowledgeable and humerous guide. We got lots of history both serious and not so serious. She obviously had plenty of experience at informing and entertaining her tour groups. We packed a lot into the day but managed to feel relaxed with the pace. Enjoyed each stop. Mo was a good driver as well. Would like to travel with them both again.”

“
What a great day. We throughly enjoyed our Evan's Tour with our guide Salvatori and our driver, Ollie.
Salvatori gave our group an excellent background on Warwick Castle, Shakespear's and Oxford before we reached our destinations. Our guide walked us to the entrance of Warwick Castle and into Shakespear's garden . It was easy to navigate the Castle and Shakespear's home on our own. Salavatoi also did an excellent job explaining about the town of Oxford and the colleges during an extensive walk through Oxford. We were very pleased with Evans Tours. Ollie was really an impressive driver . He navigated the large, confortable bus through many small streets and traffic with amazing ease.”

“
Wonderful tour. Warwick castle is magnificent. Most of the items exhibit in the Grand Hall are genuine. There are two trebuchets placed outside the castle make you wonder how they were used during medieval times. A trip to Oxford passing by Cotswolds town is an unforgettable journey. The picturesque landscape is very beautiful. A visit to world renowned Oxford University complete the tour. A special thank to the guide, Ms. Monica, a Brazilian with deep knowledge in English history. Very professional.”
