Enroute to Banteay Srei stops will be made at an exotic butterfly sanctuary and the a village of Preak Dak where we support a community tree planting initiative.

Our temple tour continues with a visit to the ancient city of Angkor Thom. In Angkor Thom we will see the fabulous Bayon Temple, Baphuon, the royal enclosure, and the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King. Last but not least is atmospheric Tra Prohm Temple where vast muscular tree roots envelop the crumbling towers and walls whilst the trees’ foliage dapples the temple in shade.

Excellent tour - Saigon to Siam Reap. Tour guides in all 3 places were brilliant - Kien in Ho Chi Minh, Maroth in Phnom Penh and Nak in Siam Reap were all fantastic - very knowledgeable and friendly.

Accommodation was excellent in Can Tho and Siam Reap (Angkor Paradise Hotel) - first class, 5 star hotels! Understandably, the hotels in Ho Chi Minh (Bay Hotel - 3 star) and Phnom Penh (Sun and Moon Hotel - 4 star) could not be as good, but they were fine for what we needed, and were in good, central locations.

This was my first "group tour" and I had some initial reservations, but it was a great experience and the people on the tour were lots of fun. I especially enjoyed the Cai Be/Can Tho boat cruise and sampan experience and the floating markets in Cai Rang.

The most emotional part of the tour for me was the Genocide Museum and Killing Fields in Phnom Penh, but a very worthwhile experience to meet some survivors. The dinner at the restaurant in Phnom Penh was very nice; excellent restaurant!

Siam Reap was also a favourite, especially the Angkor Wat temple complex, the Phare Circus, the Tonle Sap lake and the Siam Reap town. My only feedback was that we probably didn't have enough time to ourselves in Siam Reap to enjoy the hotels facilities, relax and enjoy the cities sites (maybe an extra quiet day in Siam Reap for me).

Overall, an excellent tour with fabulous tour guides and I would highly recommend the tour to other solo travellers.

The trip was absolutely amazing. I've always wanted to visit Vietnam and Cambodia and the trip was beyond my expectations. The group were fantastic. We were of similar age and bonded very well. Everyone looked out for each other during the tour and were very caring. Some of our dined together during the evening. The tour guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable.

I loved the fact that we had an opportunity to plant a tree, thereby contributing something towards the community. I was delighted with a surprise birthday cake during dinner one evening! That was a lovely surprise and very thoughtful of On The Go Tours for organising this. Thank you for an amazing and memorable trip.

This was my first time on a tour in my life so I was quite apprehensive.

On The Go Tours proved to be 10 out of 10 in every category.

The 1 guide we had in Vietnam and 2 in Cambodia were excellent.

I recommend On the Go Travel and plan on using them again.

Packed full of exciting stuff with just enough down-time to recover each day. I try to pick holidays that I can learn from. This tour showed us the true horrors of the Vietnam war and Khmer Rouge regime, but still I managed to fall in love with both countries and their people. Amazing histories, great food, wonderful guides and incredible value (as always with On The Go!). I'll be back to book another tour again, soon.

I was only with Tran for 3 days before crossing the border to the Cambodian leg of the tour.

There was a sense of sadness that Tran wasn't going to be our guide for any longer as it was obvious the existing group that started in Hanoi had really bonded with him.

The way he executed his knowledge with a mix of humour and wit made him enjoyable to listen to.Helpful as well with any questions. Thanks again. Had a great time. Greg Winter

Today we enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Phnom Penh starting at the National Museum of Fine Arts, a graceful terracotta building of traditional design housing the world’s finest collection of Khmer sculpture. We continue on to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, famed for its lavish decorations – the floors are paved with silver tiles and statues of Buddha are encrusted with thousands of diamonds.

Later come face to face with the horrors of the Pol Pot regime as we visit Toul Sleng (Security Prison - S21), a school that was gruesomely transformed into a torture chamber under the Khmer Rouge, and visit the Killing Fields where over 10,000 people were executed.

Day 7

Angkor Thom & NGO circus project

Early this morning there's the option to see Angkor Wat bathed in the spectacular golden light of sunrise (book and pay locally). Our full day of touring begins at Banteay Srei temple, considered by many to be the art gallery of Angkor with some of the finest stone carvings in the world. Cut from stone of a pinkish hue, the Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva and contains lavishly decorated libraries and stunning reliefs of divinities. Enroute to Banteay Srei stops will be made at an exotic butterfly sanctuary and the a village of Preak Dak where we support a community tree planting initiative.

Our temple tour continues with a visit to the ancient city of Angkor Thom. This monumental fortified city is encircled by a 100m wide moat and is famed for the huge statue heads that glare down from every angle.

This evening attend the wonderful Phare Cambodian Circus. The Phare NGO circus project trains street kids to become talented circus artists and the popular show blends circus skills with interpretations of modern life and issues in Cambodian society.
