Our Overlanding Range

Unforgettable journeys

A group tour experience for adventurous travellers

With our Overlanding Range, we give you amazing experiences at a great price. Travelling aboard large, purpose-built trucks, with all the equipment necessary for camping and cooking onboard, overlanding allows you to cover large distances and explore multiple countries in an affordable and fun way. As well as taking in key highlights, our Overland tours are able to get off the beaten track, getting under the skin of the countries you visit.

Whether it's going in search of the Big Five in Africa’s flagship national parks, floating through the Okavango Delta in a mokoro, or scaling the Sossusvlei dunes in Namibia, spend your days enjoying a wide range of exciting activities and camp out each night under a blanket stars or stay in simple accommodation.

These are small group tours, with a maximum of group size of 16, providing a social and fun travel experience with like-minded travellers. And we have different styles of overlanding - find out more below or check out our Overlanding guide.

Our Overlanding tours include a local payment. As well as keeping upfront costs down for you means that even more of your money stays within the local area. Cost-effective trips and great for the community; can’t be bad!

Types of Overlanding

Overland Camping

Our Overland camping tours are aimed at younger travellers, although everyone is welcome up to the age of 80 (a good level of fitness is required on these tours!) Staying in tents and travelling in groups of up to 16 (30 on some tours) passengers, you'll travel in a purpose-built overland truck, escorted by a professional safari team of 2 or 3. Everyone pitches in on these tours with setting up camp, cooking and other chores. We stay at a range of campsites ranging from simple bush camping to more modern facilities with hot showers, bars, and swimming pools.

Overland Accommodated

Some of our Overland Camping tours offer an Accommodated upgrade. For a small fee, you can stay in simple chalet accommodation instead of camping. These tours travel alongside our Overland Camping Safaris and you will still pitch in with the cooking, you'll just have a proper bed to rest your head on instead of staying in a tent.

Comfort Camping

In Southern Africa we offer a small range of Comfort Camping safaris. These are exactly what the name suggests - comfortable camping! Instead of sleeping on a roll mat on the floor, you'll sleep on a camp bed, still in tents. And there is no cooking or pitching in - you can relax at camp with a cool beer while your safari crew attends to all the cooking, pitching of tents, and camp chores. These tours are a great compromise if you don't have the budget for a lodge safari, but want a bit of an upgrade from sleeping on the ground.
