Day 1 - Exploring Rome

Check in is from 15:00 at our start hostel. If you arrive early then you can leave your luggage at reception and begin exploring the Eternal City at your own pace.
At 17:00, join your tour leader and fellow travellers for a welcome briefing and an engaging evening walk through the heart of Rome. You'll pass landmarks such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum, enjoying the vibrant city atmosphere. Our first day concludes with an included welcome dinner at a traditional Roman trattoria. Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine while toasting to new friendships and the unforgettable experiences to come.
Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. The average age on this tour is around 21 - 35, and we are unfortunately unable to take any travellers over the age of 39. At 9:00 we head out for a morning orientation walk through Rome's historic centre. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, and the renowned Trevi Fountain - remember to toss a coin for good luck!
The included tour ends at 14:00 at the Vatican City. You can continue your day at leisure, visiting the Vatican independently or booking onto an optional guided tour of St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure.
Day 3 - Rome at Leisure

Today is your chance to explore Rome at your leisure. Whether you wish to revisit your favourite places or explore new ones, the city is filled with endless opportunities. Consider strolling through the picturesque Trastevere district, shopping along Via del Corso, or unwinding in one of Rome's beautiful parks. The day is yours to enjoy as you wish!
Day 4 - Pompeii & Sorrento
Day 4 - Pompeii & Sorrento
Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento. We leave Rome at 9:00, heading on the high speed train to Naples. We then continue by private bus or minivan to our first destination, Pompeii. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to some of the world's most remarkable ruins, buried under 4 to 6 metres of ash and pumice during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. In Pompeii, you will have free time to explore the ruins at your leisure (entry ticket included) or you can arrange a 2-hour guided tour with a professional local guide through your tour leader.
After Pompeii, we continue to Sorrento, a stunning gem on the Amalfi Coast overlooking the Bay of Naples. After checking into your accommodation, your guide will lead a stroll around the town centre. In the evening, you can either spend time on your own or join your guide for an optional delicious dinner at a local, lively restaurant, followed by drinks at a club. Finish the day with a trip to the marina to relax by the sea.
Day 5 - Capri Day Trip

Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento. Begin your day with a thrilling boat trip from Sorrento to the stunning island of Capri. Upon arrival, you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the enchanting island of Capri at your own pace. Stroll through charming streets lined with boutiques and cafes, offering spectacular views. Consider visiting the iconic Blue Grotto, a magical sea cave with striking blue waters, or relax on one of the island’s picturesque beaches. Remember to bring your swimsuit and a towel if you want to take a dip!
For an unforgettable experience, consider the optional Chairlift to Mount Solaro. This scenic ride takes you to the island's highest point, offering panoramic 360° views of Capri, the Tyrrhenian Sea, and the surrounding coastline—perfect for everyone regardless of fitness level.
Back in Sorrento, the evening is free for you to find a restaurant for dinner, or visit one of Sorrento's vibrant nightclubs to dance and mingle with fellow travellers.
Day 6 - The Amalfi Coast

Sorrento - Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento. Today we are exploring the Amalfi Coast. Departing early from our accommodation, we'll travel by private bus, passing by the stunning Galli Islands (Isola di Nureyev), the quaint fishing village of Furore, and the charming town of Praiano, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and the panoramic views from its cathedral, which is perched 365 metres above the sea. The journey along the winding, cliffside roads will offer spectacular vistas of the Mediterranean.
Upon arrival in Amalfi, you'll have 2 hours to explore this historic town at your leisure. Visit the iconic cathedral, relax on the beach, or savour a delicious meal at one of the local eateries. After lunch, we'll continue our journey to Positano, where colourful houses cascade down the cliffs in a stunning array of pastel shades. Meander through narrow, winding streets lined with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants, or unwind on the beach with a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. We'll have 3 hours here to immerse ourselves in the charm of this coastal treasure. We plan to head back to Sorrento around 18:00. It's our last night in Sorrento, so head out and spend it how you like.
Day 7 - Naples & Florence

Sorrento - Naples - Florence. In the morning, we say goodbye to the Amalfi Coast and set out for Florence. After a scenic drive, we reach Naples at around 11:00, renowned as the birthplace of pizza and rich in history and culture. Once we arrive, you'll join a guided orientation walk through the lively heart of the city. As you explore, you'll encounter bustling streets, historic landmarks like Plebiscito Square, and the grand San Carlo Theatre. Your guide will offer fascinating insights into the vibrant culture and history of Naples. Following the walk, you'll have free time to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the city's iconic pizzerias or local eateries, where you can savour authentic Neapolitan pizza - celebrated as the best in the world!
At around 14:00 we'll depart for Florence on the train, arriving at around 17:00. Check in to your accommodation and have a moment to refresh before stepping out into the city's historic streets. This evening, we'll gather for a walk through Florence with your tour leader. As we explore the beauty of this Renaissance city, you'll see famous landmarks like the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, and the iconic Ponte Vecchio bridge. The walk will conclude at one of Florence's charming historic bars, where you'll enjoy a traditional aperitivo, providing an excellent opportunity to unwind and socialize with fellow travellers.
Day 8 - Tuscany Wine Tasting

Florence - Tuscany - Florence. Get ready for a delightful journey into the heart of Tuscany! Departing from Florence, we'll head towards the Chianti region, renowned for its rolling hills, picturesque vineyards, and charming villages. We'll stop at a celebrated vineyard and winery in the region, where local experts will explain the winemaking process, aging techniques, and more. You'll have the opportunity to taste a variety of Chianti wines, known for their depth of flavour and tradition. While enjoying these world-class wines, take a moment to admire the surrounding breathtaking landscape - fields of vines stretching over gentle hills and lush valleys.
As the day winds down, we'll make our way back to Florence. The picturesque landscapes of Tuscany will linger in your memory, but your Italian adventure is far from over! Once back in Florence, you'll have the evening free to relax or explore more of the city on your own.
Day 9 - Pisa & Cinque Terre

Florence - Pisa - Cinque Terre - Florence. Today we embark on a train journey to explore two of Italy's most renowned destinations! Our adventure starts in Pisa, where you'll have two hours to independently explore the Square of Miracles, home to the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery.
Next, we journey to the breathtaking Ligurian coast, home to Cinque Terre, or “Five Lands.” These picturesque villages are famous for their dramatic cliffs, colourful waterfronts, charming walking trails, and pristine beaches. You’ll have the opportunity to wander through the narrow streets, browse local shops, and perhaps take a walk along the well-known coastal paths to enjoy panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
We head back to Florence for the night, aiming to get back at around 20:30.

Today is completely free for you to explore Florence at your own pace. Whether you want to shop at the local markets, tuck into mouthwatering cuisine or explore the city's museums, it's up to you. Remember, Florence is the birthplace of the Renaissance, home to dedicated to famous artworks such as Michelangelo’s “David” and Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus”, so we recommend a dose of culture today - your tour leader will be able to book some of the museums and galleries for you in advance.
Day 11 - Florence to Venice

Florence - Venice. Say goodbye to the Renaissance charm of Florence as we head to the train station for the journey to Venice. On arrival, drop off your bags at your accommodation before we head out for an orientation tour of the city. Our exploration begins at Ponte degli Scalzi, a beautiful bridge that offers a perfect first view of the canals. We'll navigate through the maze of charming streets and canals, stopping at key landmarks such as Piazza San Marco, St. Mark's Basilica, and the Palazzo Ducale.
Our tour concludes at around 17:00 in St Mark's Square and the rest of the evening is yours to explore at your leisure. Take a stroll across the city's charming bridges, book a gondola ride, enjoy a traditional Venetian dinner at one of the picturesque restaurants, or simply sip a drink along the canals, soaking in the magical atmosphere of Venice at night.
Day 12 - Exploring the Islands of Venice

Set off on a guided boat tour at 10:30, to explore the enchanting islands surrounding Venice. The first stop is Murano, renowned worldwide for its exquisite glassmaking tradition. Enjoy a live glassblowing demonstration and explore the stunning handcrafted glass pieces. Next, head to Burano, a charming island known for its colourful fishermen’s houses and delicate lace-making craftsmanship. Wander through its vibrant streets, capture some photos, and perhaps purchase a unique lace souvenir. Finally, visit Torcello, the most tranquil and historical of the islands, where you can admire its ancient Byzantine churches and serene atmosphere.
The afternoon is yours to further explore Venice at your own pace. Roam through less-visited neighbourhoods, uncover hidden treasures, or shop for artisanal masks and Murano glass. Consider joining our optional Gondola Ride, a quintessential Venetian experience that provides a romantic and relaxing perspective of the city from its iconic canals.
Day 13 - Venice

Check-out is required before 10:00 as your Italian adventure concludes today, but there's still time to experience the charm of Venice. You can store your luggage at the reception and enjoy a few final hours strolling through the captivating streets, enjoying one last espresso by the canals, or revisiting your favourite spots. You can depart via your preferred mode of travel whenever you like. If you'd like us to help you plan return travel to Rome, please request this when booking.
