Day 1 - Welcome to Mauritius
Upon arrival at the airport, make your own way to your hotel. Check in and enjoy the remainder of your day at leisure.
Days 2-6 - Enjoy days at leisure
Enjoy your days at leisure. You may wish to book some of the following optional excursions.
Optional Activities
Culinary Exploration of the Capital City by Foot
You will be picked up from the hotel and transferred to the Caudan Waterfront where your tour begins. Walk through the cobbled streets of Port Louis to explore its heritage and glimpse everyday Mauritian life. Along the way, sample traditional dishes such as steamed dumplings with broth, rotis, peanuts and deep-fried chilli cakes. A bottle of water is provided for the day.
Mauritian Taste and Flavours of the North
You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to Goodlands where your tour begins. You will have the chance to purchase fresh local vegetables in the village before continuing to Grand Gaube. Here you will be welcomed to Anjoo with appetisers and invited into the kitchen for a hands-on culinary experience. You will take home recipes and spices shared by the chef. A short walking tour follows, offering the chance to meet locals and, time permitting, see a nearby school. Tour departs: Daily 9:00am / Tour ends: 2:30pm.
Charms of the North
You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the Goodlands market, a town shaped by Indo-Mauritian heritage and one of the most economically important in the north. Visit Château Labourdonnais to discover 19th-century colonial life, followed by the Historic Marine workshop where you can see 30,000 wooden ship models. Lunch is served at Tante Athaly, one of the town’s best restaurants, before ending the tour at Pamplemousses Garden, the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere, known for its long pond of giant water lilies and 37-hectare grounds.
Exploration of Poudre d’Or Village by Bike
Meet at the Paul and Virginie monument in Poudre d’Or at 8:45am for this morning tour. Your bilingual guide will introduce your bike and provide water and a snack. Ride through the village to explore its French and British history, travelling by bike and on foot along narrow streets lined with colourful houses and well-kept gardens. Children under 12 years are not permitted on this tour.
Family Day
Enjoy a full-day family-friendly tour exploring some of the island’s most popular attractions. Visit the land of Seven Colours and Chamarel Waterfall, followed by Curious Corner, a playful experience for both adults and children. Continue to Casela Park where lunch is included before spending the afternoon enjoying the park and its activities. Lunch must be ordered 48 hours in advance.
Horse Riding at La Vieille Cheminée
Make your own way to La Vieille Cheminée, a small agricultural estate bordered by two rivers and surrounded by 75 hectares of forest and plantations. The entrance is marked by an old stone chimney dating from 1874, the last remnant of the former sugar mill. Enjoy a one-hour guided ride on calm, robust double ponies originally from South Africa. Tour departs: Monday to Saturday, 9:00am / Tour ends: 2:00pm.
Ile aux Cerfs with All-Inclusive Drinks
Make your own way to Pointe Maurice for a cruise to Ile aux Cerfs. You will be welcomed with a cocktail, provided with a sun mattress for the day and served a mixed-grill lunch with a two-hour all-inclusive drinks package. The island, set in the largest lagoon on the east coast, is privately owned and known for its lush vegetation and white sandy beaches.
Kouler Smarel
This full-day tour starts in Curepipe, the island’s second-largest town and a popular place for shopping, including cashmere, carpets, jewellery and ready-made garments. Continue to Trou aux Cerfs, a dormant volcanic crater at 650 metres above sea level with panoramic views of the Moka Range. Visit Grand Bassin, a sacred site for the Hindu community, before travelling through the Black River Gorges to Chamarel. Lunch is served at Le Chamarel, followed by a rum tasting at the Rhumerie. The final visits include Chamarel Waterfall and the Seven Coloured Earth before returning to the hotel.
Lion Mountain Hike
This morning you will be transferred to La Vallée de Ferney and taken to the starting point of the 8-kilometre hike. Your guide will lead you through one of the island’s last nature sanctuaries. Please note that this trail is technical with some steep downhill sections. Tour departs: Daily, 8:30am / Tour ends: 1:00pm.
Sirokan
Enjoy a full-day tour beginning with a transfer from your hotel. Explore Port Louis, known for its diverse communities, bustling business district, colourful market and multiple places of worship. Visit the modern Caudan Waterfront before continuing to the Royal Botanical Garden of Pamplemousses, one of the world’s most renowned gardens. Lunch is included at L’Aventure du Sucre’s Fangourin restaurant, which offers flavours rooted in Mauritian culinary heritage. Tour departs: Daily, 8:45am / Tour ends: 4:00pm.
Day 7 - Farewell Mauritius
Make your own way to Port Louis International Airport for your flight home.
